Katherine sighed deeply, driving as if she were simply taking a stroll with a motorcycle. When she snapped her eyes to Ivy, she hummed and then shrugged.

"Well, I guess I should just end her quickly," she told herself, and that very second, she twisted the handle and sped up.

Her thoughts halted as she looked back, only to see a motorbike approaching her. Without thinking twice, Ivy jumped to the side to avoid getting hit by it. She grunted through her gritted teeth, rolling on the concrete and scraping her elbow from her landing.

"Ughh..." Ivy held her shoulder, turning her head to where the motorbike was.

There, several meters ahead of her, Katherine made a sudden turn. The tires screeched as she did so. Putting her foot down, Katherine remained seated on the motorbike, head turned in Ivy’s direction.

"Hah..." Ivy breathed out heavily, glancing at the burning gates behind Katherine.

"Oh, my." Katherine shook her head, looking at Ivy with pity. "I almost hit you, Miss Ivy Wei. Good thing you have such fast reflexes."

"You..." Ivy glanced to her right, where her rifle was. When she dodged Katherine, she dropped her rifle and was tossed a few meters from her. "Damn it!"

"Haha!" Katherine chuckled, shaking her head mildly. "Oh, Miss Wei. Did you think even with a weapon, you had a chance of escaping?"

Ivy glared at the woman. "What do you want?!" she screamed her lungs out. "If you want to kill me, then kill me now! What are waiting for?!"

"Oh, Miss Ivy Wei, what’s the rush?" Katherine cocked her head to the side. "Did you give up on life? So soon?"

"You bitch..." Ivy clasped her hand. "Are you having fun watching me struggle?"

Ivy couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing Katherine’s claim. Surely, this woman was only beautiful on the outside. But inside? Her soul was already decaying. How could a human being have fun making others suffer? But then again, the world Katherine lived in was on a whole different level of madness.

"You seem the type to chat." Katherine hummed as she rubbed her chin. "So, let’s chat for a bit."

"I’m not interested."

"Kill me!" Ivy taunted. "If you don’t kill me now, you’ll regret this golden opportunity!"

"Oh?" Katherine smirked, amused. "I will regret this golden opportunity? That’s interesting. How can you say so?"

Ivy almost choked, glancing at her rifle once again.

"Ahh.." Katherine nodded in understanding. "You called this golden opportunity because once you get that rifle, you’re going to fight back, huh?"

She paused as she raised her chin, eyes glinting maliciously. "Sure. Why don’t you try to take that rifle, Miss Wei? We’ll see if that weapon would even help you."

"Hah..." Ivy laughed, keeping her eyes on Katherine, and then gazing at the towering fences behind her. Deep lines appeared between her brows for a split second.

Aside from the wide gates, there were towering fences surrounding the acres of land where the castle-like mansion stood. So Ivy, despite the distance, caught a black sedan through the fence. But that wasn’t what surprised her, but the fact that she saw the person driving it.

’What is he doing here...?’ Her thoughts trailed off as she shifted her fiery eyes to Katherine.

"Haha!" Ivy laughed as she looked back at Katherine, smirking. "No," she said, shaking her head. "I called this a golden opportunity for another reason. But alas, you wasted it."

As soon as those words rolled out of her tongue, Katherine heard a vehicle from behind. As soon as she looked back, she saw a black sedan jumping through the thick smoke of the gates and driving straight at her.

"You lucky bitch!" Katherine yelled, forced to drive away to not get hit by the speeding sedan.
