Chapter 884: Not too far behind
"Bullshit!" Tiger roared as he pounded the bottom of his first against the armrest. He ground his teeth as his eyes blazed. "Are you saying we got the wrong guys all along?"
Wolf shook his head. "I don’t think we’re on the same page, Tiger."
"Wolf is right." Moose nodded, not grabbing the chance to mock Tiger like usual. "It’s a fact that Silas and No One targeted some innocent people and hurt unsuspecting victims."
"I won’t deny that." Primo gazed down out of shame. "No one asked me to target Dominic. I did that out of my own volition. And everything that happened after that was also from my own actions and decisions."
"The point here is, even when Silas and Attorney are guilty, someone else was just as guilty" Moose clarified in simple terms so the information would go through Tiger’s thick skull. "Do you now understand?"
"Another point here is, we know No One admits to his wrong and is cooperating with us. But we’re not sure about Silas," Bear chimed in monotonously. "Was he really manipulated? Or did his confidence come from the fact he had another person playing the game?"
"We should’ve taken him with us." Dominic sighed heavily. "I’ve been visiting him recently, but he has been uncooperative."
"Why are you visiting him?" Tiger furrowed his brows, eyes on Dominic.
Bear answered for Dominic. "His face."
"Huh?"
"Tsk." Moose looked at Tiger in dismay. "I know you’re a blockhead sometimes, but I never realized you’re this bad. How can you not catch on?"
"My fiancee is with someone like Dimitri." Tiger hissed. "So, ninety percent of my brain is focused on her well-being."
"If you truly want to save her, then I suggest you put all your focus in this meeting." Moose shook his head. "After all, our chances lie in this meeting."
"Moose has a point, Tiger." Bear nodded in agreement. "Who knows? You might come up with something helpful."
Tiger frowned deeply, glaring daggers at Moose. The latter simply shrugged as if a declaration of his innocence.
"I’ve been planning to use Silas as a decoy," Dominic revealed. "Of course, since Tiger is already investigating Dane, I didn’t tell him about it. But the problem was, Silas didn’t want to be my proxy."
"We couldn’t force him either," Bear continued and sighed. "This plan will only work if Silas is cooperative. But considering he loathes Dominic, we dropped the idea today."
"You should’ve taken him here either way," Wolf commented. "If Silas knew about Dimitri, then I wouldn’t be surprised if Dimitri already heard about the plan."
"We didn’t know Silas and No One was manipulated until now," Dominic argued calmly. "And even if he was one of Dimitri’s people, he wouldn’t have a definite answer. After all, I didn’t tell Silas more than he should have known."
Wolf’s brows rose in amusement, eyes on Dom.
"Let’s not get strayed away from the main point." Heaven broke her silence, waiting for everyone’s undivided attention. "Since it seems we’re all now on the same page, my point remains."
She fluttered her eyelashes, setting her eyes to Primo. "Primo has connections with both Dragon and Dimitri. He’ll be the third player of this sick game."
Primo nodded with determination while the rest remained quiet.
"But what if Silas is under Dimitri?" Fig inquired from the call. "He’d find out that you’re the person responsible for No One’s release. And thus, he will have the idea that he’s actually just a decoy."
"That’s true." Heaven nodded but then a glint flickered across her eyes. "If he finds out through Silas, then that would be much better."
Curiosity shone in everyone’s eyes as they looked at her, waiting for an explanation for that.
"After all, it’s not like No One is simply acting out of order," she argued knowingly. "With or without orders, he would take down Dimitri. Simply put, if Dimitri is aware that No One and us joined forces, it’ll split his forces. Because then, he would realize he had to be aware of not just Dragon, but also No One and us."
Another moment of silence befell their shoulders. The corner of Tiger’s lips curled up which was then followed by a quiet laugh.
"Ah... goodness." He ran his fingers through his fingertips, chuckling and then shaking his head. "Isn’t this great?"
He looked up at everyone, smirking. "So? When are we making our move?"
"As soon as possible." Heaven turned her head in Wolf’s direction. "Wolf had been watching Ram’s movements. He had also sent out people to monitor Dimitri."
"Wait!" Tiger held his breath, wide-eyed. "Are you saying you found them already?"
Heaven simply looked at him dead in the eye. "Do you think you’re the only one who cares about Ivy?"
"That’s great." Tiger’s stiff shoulders relaxed as a smile turned up on his face. "What a relief. So we aren’t that far behind, huh?"
"Tsk tsk tsk." Moose clicked his tongue, making Tiger look in his direction.
"What?" Tiger hissed, but Moose just shrugged. "Open your mouth and you’d not get a penny from me again."
Moose zipped his mouth, looking away while keeping his comments to himself. Meanwhile, Primo couldn’t help but watch this exchange. Surely Moose would do anything for money. His silence had a price, and Primo wasn’t interested in knowing how much.
"As we were saying, we already monitoring their bases," Heaven spoke to get everyone’s attention once again. "But before we discuss our plan, we have to talk about the people working under Dragon and Dimitri."
She slowly gazed at the table on the tablet. "Fig, can she talk?"
"Yes," Fig answered almost immediately, gazing at the person in front of him. "Both of them are willing to give every bit of information they know."
With Fig were Deborah and Hunter. Both were sitting up on their beds, eyes on the big man sitting in the chairs between their beds. Hunter and Deborah carried resolved in their eyes, nodding at Fig upon hearing what Fig said just now.
"I’ll put you on speaker now." Fig tapped on his phone and slowly put it down on the bedside table between the beds. He then cast Deborah a look. "You can start. Tell them what you know about Dimitri’s people."
Deborah nodded and when her lips parted, she didn’t hesitate to share everything she knew about Dragon. Hunter then followed, sharing all his years of investigation. Particularly, everything he knew about Dimitri and the original members of his organization.
