Chapter 870: Cousin

"Dimitri... had been hiding behind the name Dane Zhang. That same coward Dane Zhang."

Dane Zhang.

Deep lines appeared between Primo’s brows upon hearing Tiger’s revelation. He didn’t immediately recognize the name. He just felt like he heard it somewhere. Slowly, Primo’s eyes dilated as he remembered a man named Dane Zhang.

"I was probably as shocked as you when I found out about it this morning." Tiger sighed as he looked up at the ceiling once again. "Even you, who targeted Dominic, could barely remember him. After all, compared to Dominic, Dane Zhang is quite incompetent and someone that would be treated as insignificant."

"I didn’t want to admit it, but he’s quite good for fooling everyone," he continued. "He took a perfect persona and chose the perfect person to hide to divert everyone’s attention from him. If you know him, he probably also knows you. I’m not saying this to anger you, but I can imagine how he snickers behind everyone’s back while watching us fight each other from the sidelines."

Primo barely blinked as he listened to Tiger’s rumbling. Even now, Tiger was ranting on and on, but his voice sounded distant from Primo’s ears. He slowly gazed down, brows furrowed, recalling a time in the past to make sense to piece everything together in the present.

[Short Flashback]

"Martin... Alexa..." Primo stood motionless by the entrance of his home, eyes wide at the gruesome sight before him. The tips of his toes and fingers went cold, and his complexion was white as a sheet. His eyes shook, scanning the traces of blood all across the house, and then his eyes fell on the floor.

Near the entrance was Alexa, lying lifeless on the floor with her face first. By the looks of it, Alexa tried to run away but failed to reach the door.

This must be a nightmare, he thought. There was no way this was real. Primo would soon wake up from this.

"Alexa..." he whispered, using every bit of his energy to take a step closer to his little sister. "Alex..."

Squatting down, Primo reached for Alexa’s hand. The second he touched Alexa’s slightly warm hands, his breath hitched.

"No," he breathed out, and without thinking, he rolled Alexa to see if she was still breathing.

Oh, how he wished he hadn’t done that, because the moment the poor Alexa lay on her back, it revealed the bullet hole right in her cheek.

"Hah..." His hands trembled uncontrollably, seeing how his little sister’s eyes were still wide open. "Alexa..."

Primo listlessly pulled her into his embrace, only to touch something on the back of her head. Pulling his hand away, he gazed at the blood on his palm. He wasn’t an expert, but he had been studying different cases. Thus, he realized Alexa was shut from behind and the bullet went right through her cheek.

"This is not... this is not... happening..."

"Big... brother..."

Primo’s breath hitched as he heard a soft call from the corner. Turning his head, he saw Martin lying in his own pool of blood. Martin blinked weakly, using every bit of his energy to reach out to his big brother.

"Martin!" Without wasting a breath, Primo put down Alexa and rushed to Martin. Sliding to his knees, Primo grabbed his little brother’s hand.

Martin slowly turned his head to look at his brother. His vision was blurry, barely see his brother’s figure. However, he knew that this was his big brother. Thus, a smile turned up on his face as he felt like his brother had come to rescue them.

"We’re... saved.."

Primo froze as Martin slowly closed his eyes while his little hand lost his strength. Martin’s hand fell from his big brother’s loose hold, not knowing that would be the last time he would ever see his big brother.

"Martin...?" Primo held his breath as a tear rolled down his unblinking eyes, holding Martin’s hand once more. But alas, his little brother didn’t have a pulse anymore. "No... Martin. Don’t..."

Knowing little skills about resuscitation, Primo mindlessly tried to get Martin’s pulse back. But alas, he stopped when he noticed the blood underneath them had spread wider.

"Mar..." he trailed off, seeing that blood in Martin’s clothes had more blood than it originally had. Lifting Martin’s shirt, Primo threw up at the sight of a few bullet holes in his brother’s stomach.

Primo coughed and coughed, throwing up as his stomach continuously turned. As he did so, a faint noise from somewhere caressed his ears. Turning his head, his eyes landed on the kitchen.

"Marra," he whispered, realizing Marra wasn’t around.

Primo looked around the living area and clenched his teeth. Alexa, Martin, and even the housekeeper were here. Only Marra wasn’t here. Despite the situation, Primo hoped Marra would be somewhere else. Maybe, in school? Or she was out doing a school project with her classmate? He wished Marra was anywhere except home.

Dragging his feet to where he could hear the sound, Primo soon reached the kitchen. Blood was smeared all over it. He followed the sound but stopped midway. He gazed down, seeing this wide line of blood as if someone had been dragged from where the line had started.

"No," he whispered, snapping his eyes to the continuous noises faintly echoing in his ear.

Primo followed the sound once again, getting closer to the small toilet near the kitchen. The closer he got to it, the louder the sound. When he stood in front of the door, he reached for the knob with a shaking hand. Gazing down, he caught some blood crawling underneath the gap.

’Marra...’Primo’s face crumpled, almost not having the heart to open the door to see what horror lies in it. However, the thought that Marra was able to hide in here compelled him to check.

He shouldn’t have done that.If only he didn’t, he might have been able to delude himself that Marra died without any pain. But the gruesome sight that awaited him was something he would never forget, even after ten lifetimes.

When Primo mustered the courage to open the door, the first thing he saw was a piece of flesh on the floor. Lifting his gaze a little, he caught a severed leg. Primo froze, almost not wanting to move his gaze. But alas, his eyes already did before he could stop himself.

There, in the shower, was a man squatting down while slicing through a person’s other leg. The girl was sitting in the shower, and a part of her cheek was cut off, but Primo still recognized the young lady being ravaged by this sick monster with her.

"Hah?" the person who was butchering Marra stopped upon sensing a person’s presence. Looking back, the corner of his lips curled up. "You’re here, attorney? Call my father... or rather, my cousin, to clean this mess for me. Wait for me outside. I’ll give you my testimony after this."

’Mr. John.’Primo stared at the monster who had done this to his family blankly, and everything after that was a blur to Primo.

All he remembered was more blood had spilled after that and then... this phone in the bathroom. A phone that was connected in a call with the name Dimitri on the screen.
