Chapter 869: I didn’t do it for you.

No matter how loud Tiger’s call was, no one came to do something with Primo. Fortunately, after two minutes of continuous laughing, Primo stopped and apologized for worrying him.

"Tsk tsk tsk." Tiger clicked his tongue continuously, eyes on the other bed and studying the smile cemented on Primo’s face. "You said all of that, but dude, you’re crazy. I still think you should be in a psychiatric ward."

"I’ve spent a good time in that kind of place and trust me, they can only help to such an extent." Primo shook his head mildly, snapping his eyes to the vase at the end corner. "So, he’s dead, huh?"

Tiger arched a brow and asked, "You said you know Dimitri? Is that why you attacked Dominic Zhu?"

"Huh?" Primo blinked, looking back at Tiger obliviously. "Why would I attack Dominic Zhu because of him?"

"What?" Tiger cocked his head to the side and then looked away, rubbing his chin as he pondered. "So, he doesn’t know who the real Dimitri was? Is this guy playing with me?"

Tiger rumbled on and on to himself without caring if Primo could hear him. Primo, on the other hand, studied Tiger.

"I targeted Dominic Zhu because of Silas," Primo explained, earning Tiger’s attention once more. "Silas approached me with a tempting offer. Dominic Zhu’s background sounds a little interesting. So, I thought it would be fun to play his role for a little while. Dimitri has nothing to do with it."

"But didn’t you say you know Dimitri?"

"I know him, at least, I know what he had done to me and what kind of person he is." A shallow breath escaped Primo as he looked down. "But I don’t know what he looks like, how old he is, or anything about his appearance."

The corner of his lips curled up bitterly at the thought. "Confusing, isn’t it? That I hold a deep grudge against a faceless man. Even so... that old man with that mole near his right eye is someone I wouldn’t forget. Especially that arrogant look on his face that time."

A mix of bitterness and pain swirled in Primo’s eyes as he recalled a painful memory from the past. His grip on the blanket tightened as his jaw almost locked after clenching it hard. He couldn’t forget that old man’s words back then:

[You wouldn’t have lost them if you didn’t upset Dimitri.]

"Hah..." Primo scoffed as he remembered the old man whispering in his ear with his hand on his shoulder as he walked past him. "It’s a shame I didn’t find him myself because he suddenly disappeared as if he didn’t exist in the first place. But now that you caught him, I’m now certain it wasn’t a delusion. They are real."

Primo slowly lifted his eyes to Tiger. "Thank you for killing him. I would’ve loved to do the honor, but knowing he had a painful death fitting for someone like him is enough."

"I didn’t do it for you."

"I know, but even so, I still want to thank you." Primo smiled bitterly, lowering his eyes. "Because at the end of the day, I almost lost hope in ever finding where that old man was and his boss. All this time, I thought I was simply hallucinating. Everyone told me so."

Tiger opened his mouth for a moment but then closed them again. He ran his tongue across his inner cheek, looking up at the ceiling to contemplate something.

"So, that’s true, huh?" he muttered, observing Primo look back at him from the corner of his eyes. "The Cafre Massacre."

Primo froze as his eyes went wide for a moment before a subtle smile took over his face. "So, you knew about it too?"

"Her — Heaven Liu told us."

"She did?"

"Mhm. You got her attention enough for her to want to find out more about you," Tiger explained nonchalantly. "I didn’t want to know about it, but her mood went sour for a few days. Anyone would wonder why’s that. She didn’t even want to drag you into this problem more, but after a long consideration, she thought it would only make sense to include you for revenge."

"Huh?" Primo slowly raised his brows, watching Tiger set his eyes back on him. "What do you mean...?"

"It’s hard to be someone sympathetic and a demon at the same time." Tiger shrugged. "But seeing you now, I’m now sure she made the right call in taking you into her plans."

All Primo could do was stare at Tiger, rendered speechless by the man’s remarks. Although there wasn’t anything important in Tiger’s words, there was this inscrutable feeling bubbling in his heart that no one else could put into words.

"I only know the general overview of your past because I’m not that interested. For me, we all carry bad memories we wish to forget," Tiger continued indifferently. "Considering all your deeds, that part of the past doesn’t give you the license to justify the pain you caused to others. Not to mention, you targeted Dominic Zhu and if you succeeded, he’s probably dead right now and his son might’ve shared the same tragic fate as the rest of your victims."

He paused and leaned back comfortably. "Don’t take this as a mere help for you to exact your revenge. You might die, so you might as well call this a mission for redemption. A frail attempt to do what’s actually right instead of making the innocent suffer just because you were hurt deeply by someone else."

"Don’t get the wrong idea, No One." Tiger cocked his head back, eyes sliding to the corner where Primo was at. "I still don’t like you and I probably won’t ever like you in this lifetime. But since you’re part of this mission, I think it’s best to be open about whatever you know about them. She might’ve known about most of the information you know, but giving it a try won’t hurt."

"After all, if you know a lot about Dimitri, you would’ve known he’s been around us this whole time," Tiger added solemnly. "Dimitri... had been hiding behind the name Dane Zhang. That same coward Dane Zhang."
