Chapter 868: Not a psychiatric ward

Meanwhile...

"Ugh..." A grunt escaped Tiger’s mouth even before he opened his eyes. He held the side of his head, his eyes cracking open. The light that penetrated his eyes made him take his time before opening them completely. When his eyes finally adjusted to it, he furrowed his brows as he turned to his right.

"What in the world...?" he muttered, turning to his left, only for his face to twitch. "Why in the world?"

"We’re not in a psychiatric ward, so don’t worry." Primo, who was sitting on the other bed, with his back resting against the headboard, reassured indifferently. "If you don’t believe me, take that vase over there as an example. If we’re in a psychiatric ward, they wouldn’t leave anything that can be used as a weapon to hurt others or ourselves."

"Ah, shit..." Tiger pinched the bridge of his nose, propping his arm against the mattress to sit up. He barely got anything from Primo’s nonsense, as the thought of being in a psychiatric ward didn’t even cross him until Primo mentioned it.

"Where are they?" he asked when his headache eased, snapping his eyes back to the other bed.

Primo shrugged. "No idea. I just woke up several minutes before you."

"Ah." Tiger rocked his head and then scanned the room they were in. For sure, this wasn’t the hospital where he was rushed in. It wasn’t Dominic’s home as well, neither it was Moose’s safe house.

"Just where in the world did they take us?" he wondered. "I’d be very furious if they told me they left without me."

"Are you a child?" Primo’s question earned Tiger’s attention. "You sound like they’ve left for an amusement park."

Tiger studied Primo for a second and shook his head. "Impossible."

"Hmm?"

"We’re probably in Sorrento."

"How did you know that?" Primo tilted his head to the side. Although he suspected they were in a different place or country, he wasn’t sure where exactly they were.

"It’s our destination," Tiger gave a short and obvious answer.

"Ah." Primo rocked his head in understanding, but then, furrowed his brows. "How are you sure we’re in Sorrento? I mean, considering your condition and mine, it’s only logical to think that they left us in a safe house."

Tiger deadpanned, looking at Primo as if he was looking at an idiot. Even so, he pointed at the man, making him raise his brows.

"You," Tiger said. "You’re the answer."

Primo pointed at himself as he questioned, "Me?"

"Mhm." Tiger looked away as he checked the back of his hand. An IV was still injected into it, following the tube into the bag of fluid. "If she finally decided to go all out, there’s no way in hell she’ll leave you behind. Weren’t you her decoy?"

"Ah..." Primo gazed down as he processed his explanation before setting his eyes back to Tiger. This time, Tiger was standing near the bag of fluid on the side of his bed. "What are you doing?"

"I’m checking what sort of medicine is going through my system," answered Tiger without looking in his direction.

Primo furrowed his brows. "Why? Are you a doctor too?"

"Too?" Tiger cocked his head back to Primo with the bag of fluid now in his raised hand. "Ahh. Moose told you he was a doctor?"

"Yes."

"Heh. Don’t believe him. He’s a doctor quack," Tiger laughed, walking away from his vantage point. "Some days, he’s an engineer."

"He wasn’t a doctor?!" Primo almost gasped. "Where are you going?"

Tiger stopped and looked back at him indifferently. "To the bathroom. Why? Do you want to come? I don’t swing that way."

"Can you walk around like that?" Primo inquired while Tiger resumed in his steps.

"I only got a concussion," Tiger answered nonchalantly without looking back. "It’s just that old man working under Dimitri kept targeting my injury. That lowlife bastard. I didn’t want to kill him, but he asked for it."

Tiger was still talking even when he entered the bathroom, rumbling about the enemy he faced. His voice only disappeared when he shut the door behind him to relieve himself. Meanwhile, Primo kept his eyes on the bathroom door with furrowed brows.

When Tiger returned, Primo didn’t waste a second to seek some truth from him.

"Do you know Dimitri?" he asked, making Tiger halt for a second and arch a brow. "You said the old man working under Dimitri. Can you tell me what he looks like?"

"I didn’t know you’re the type to ask so many questions," Tiger remarked, resuming his steps back to his bed. "I don’t know if I should share information with you, but considering you’re her decoy, it might as well work in our favor if you know a thing or two."

Tiger went straight to the pole to put the bag of fluid in place. "What does that man look like? Well, he looks old. Wrinkly... he smells like earth. He’s also bald."

Primo frowned at the description Tiger was giving. Wasn’t he just describing a general look of the elderly?

"Ah!" Tiger nodded and looked at Primo, tapping his cheekbone with his index. "He also has this mole in his cheekbone, near his right eye."

"A mole..."

"Yes. A big ass one at that."

Primo furrowed his brows as his grip on the blanket over his leg tightened. Tiger, on the other hand, just sat down when he noticed the odd quietness from his roommate. Deep lines appeared between Tiger’s brows, assessing Primo’s side profile.

"You know him?" Tiger asked, earning a hum from the other man.

"You can say that." Primo slowly lifted his eyes back to Tiger. "Dimitri and I have some score to settle. And that old man too. Did you say you killed him?"

"I did."

"How?" Primo perked up eagerly.

Tiger raised his eyebrow even higher, not sure where was Primo’s sudden enthusiasm coming from. "He’s skilled enough to go head to head with me, so I shot him and kept assaulting his injury. You know, feeding him his own medicine."

"Did he... suffer?"

"How would I know?" Tiger shrugged nonchalantly. "I just let him bleed out, and considering I shattered his ribcage, his every breath feels like hell. I guess he didn’t have a painless death, huh?"

"Haha... hahaha!"

Tiger furrowed his brows, looking back at Primo after hearing him laugh. Primo buried his face in his palms, laughing evilly, making Tiger scoot over to the farthest side of the bed.

"Oy! Are you having some sort of psychotic episode?!" Tiger yelled, but to no avail, as Primo laughed and laughed as if he was losing his mind. "Shit! Hey! Is there anyone out there?! A patient here needs sedation!"
