Chapter 855: So, he has people like that

Since Axel had taken the initial measures, Heaven decided to stay with Tiger for the time being. According to the doctor, Tiger had been shot in the ear and stabbed in the side of his stomach. Although the injuries weren’t fatal, Tiger’s neglect had aggravated them. There was also a sign that Tiger had been involved in an intense struggle or fight, leading to him fainting due to a loss of blood.

Overall, Tiger would be fine if he rested.

"What a silly fool." Sitting in the chair beside the bed, eyes on the unconscious Tiger, a shallow breath slipped past Heaven’s lips. "This is a problem with you. You’ve always been reckless, especially when highly emotional. I guess you’ve truly grown attached to Mr. Zhang."

Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, her expression calm. This wasn’t the first time she had seen her people lying unconscious due to an injury. Losing one had always been a part of her life in the past. Even so, being in this situation again left an unpleasant taste in her mouth.

It was not something she missed in the past.

"And then again... that also means if your opponent hurt you this much, it means he’s quite skilled," she continued under her breath, guessing what happened before she lost contact with Tiger.

The room fell into silence as she pondered. She rubbed her fingertips on the armrest, jaw tightening, and eyes sharpening.

"There’s no order anymore," she whispered. "Dragon, Ram, and the former members of the Reapers do not know their places anymore."

A glint flickered across her eyes as she recalled the bomb Axel dropped moments ago. At the same time, a faint grunt escaped Tiger. She watched him make small and slow movements. Deep lines appeared on Tiger’s forehead as his eyes cracked open.

"Ugh..." Tiger grunted through his clenched teeth.

"Fuck," he breathed out, propping his elbow on the mattress to sit up. "I have to..."

"The doctor said you should rest." Heaven’s voice made him stop, watching him turn his head in her direction. "Although your injuries aren’t that fatal, you shouldn’t force yourself."

"Hera..." Tiger breathed out as he shut his eyes momentarily. Despite her instruction, he still dragged himself to sit up, resting his back on the headboard. He held his head, still a little dizzy. "Damn... that old geezer really got me good."

"Is he that good?" she asked, making him peek at her. "Or were you just complacent?"

"Both," he admitted. "He’s probably much better during his prime."

"I see. So, Dimitri has that kind of people underneath him, huh?" Heaven nodded in understanding calmly.

"Hera, Ivy is with that damn bastard!" Tiger winced as raising his voice brought a stinging pain to his injuries. "We have to find her."

Heaven didn’t answer immediately as she studied Tiger. "Rushing right now will not help, Tiger."

"Hera!"

"Thanks to Axel, we aren’t left behind that much. Even though you asked for his favor in such a brute manner, he still made timely decisions that benefited us." Her tone was cold, displaying her displeasure towards Tiger’s actions. "If not for the situation, I would’ve kicked you at least once for trying to bully my little brother."

"Tch. I’m also your brother." Tiger clicked his tongue as he looked away but didn’t argue with her. "I admit I lost my head over there for a second."

"You should apologize to him next time."

Tiger cast her a quick look and sighed. "Do you think I won’t? So, did he find Ivy?"

"Ivy and Dane — I mean, Dimitri were suspected to be headed to Sorrento. Axel already sent out people to go there and investigate. Dom already called Wolf for his assistance since Joker is too busy to be of help right now."

"Sorrento?" Tiger furrowed his brows. "Then what are you still doing? Let’s go there. Idling here right now won’t —"

"Even if we go right now, what are we going to do?" Heaven blinked, glancing at Tiger’s IV, which he was attempting to remove just now. "Just go straight into an enemy’s den and die? I’m sorry, Tiger. But I promised my son to pick him up once this is over. I don’t plan to die."

"Hera," Tiger breathed out, removing his hand from his IV. "Didn’t you hear me? Isn’t Ivy your friend? And Mr. Zhang — that guy is dangerous."

"I heard you and which is why we’re still here, Tiger." Heaven leaned back, keeping her eye contact with him. "It appears to me that you’re still unwell, brother. Why not sleep some more? Your brain might function better with sleep."

"Tch." Tiger pinched the bridge of his nose in distress.

"Do you think I won’t know your relationship with Ivy?" she continued, watching him look back at her. "I warned you, Tiger. Unless this is over, stop with your nonsense."

"What did you say?" The veins on his forehead protruded at the level of hypocrisy coming from her. "Hera, you —"

"Although this time, it’s not your fault, she’ll be in the same situation since Dragon had openly targeted you," she added, stopping him mid-sentence. "Tiger, I said what I said because right now, how I wished I could revert the time and finish everyone off before I died as Hera. If only I did, Dom, Axel, my children would be doing something entirely different at this second instead of me, sitting here, trying to talk sense to my rebellious brother."

"Do not get me wrong. If I were in your situation, I would’ve done worse. However, my point was I’m simply trying to save you the trouble of suffering the same torment of putting your loved ones in such a situation," she continued quietly. "If you don’t feel the slightest bit of shame with that thought, then I suggest you reassess your real feelings for Ivy."

Listening to Heaven’s remarks, Tiger gradually calmed down. Every word she spewed stung, as his guilt had been eating him away from the inside and out. Perhaps, it was the reason he was able to hold off that long despite his injuries because of that feeling.

Seeing his reaction, Heaven nodded in satisfaction. "If that calmed you down, let’s get down to business." Her tone this time was more solemn, earning his attention.

"Tell me everything that happened in detail. Don’t leave anything behind," she remarked. "Unless you want Ivy to die."
