Chapter 856: Like a villain in movies

"Tell me everything that happened in detail. Don’t leave anything behind. Unless you want Ivy to die."

Tiger’s expression hardened at Heaven’s remarks, and he nodded at her. When his lips parted, he recounted everything that had happened from start to finish, leaving no crumb behind.

"Normally, there would be people placed around the old house," Tiger continued solemnly. "In that case, if someone is snooping around the Zhang, they could divert the investigation by leading them to the so-called Zhang family and where they moved."

"I see," Heaven nodded. "It seems Dimitri got complacent and removed those people from their post when he ascertained he got everyone’s trust."

"He’s a meticulous man, I’d give that to him," Tiger admitted.

"He’s much more sophisticated than we could’ve expected."

"What about you?" he asked. "You said you were attacked previously."

"Not exactly me, but Dom and Bear. No One, as well. He’s injured, but still alive. Moose is with him."

Tiger took a deep breath, organizing his thoughts. He didn’t ask for further information; it was already apparent.

"Though, I think I should tell you that the target in today’s attack is No One and... Dane," Heaven revealed, making Tiger furrow his brows in surprise.

"What did you say?"

"We still hadn’t figured out why Ivy suddenly went to Dominic and asked Dane to go with her. However, what we do know is that they were together when the attack happened." Heaven rubbed her chin with the side of her index finger. "Now, everything makes sense."

Tiger slowly looked away as he tried to piece together the added information. "You don’t say..."

"It seems Dragon wants Dimitri out of his life and Ram is helping him with that," Heaven announced, offering the only explanation she could think of. "In case you don’t know, Dimitri was actually the founder of the organization Dragon was commanding at present."

"In other words, Dimitri started it but Dragon made it grow?"

Heaven hummed thoughtfully. "It seems to be that way if you say it like that?"

"Huh?"

"Tiger, Dimitri’s group was originally small. However, after a thorough investigation, I found out that despite their numbers, its members were all skilled and formidable. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that based on their skills, they could match the skills of the core members of the Reapers."

"What?" Tiger gasped quietly at this new information while Heaven nodded.

"That old man you talked about just now is probably one of the original members of their syndicate before Dragon joined."

"Does that mean there were more people like him under Dimitri’s command?"

This time, Heaven just nodded in answer. Seeing that she wasn’t denying it, Tiger fell silent, contemplating the situation. This information surely changed a lot of things. No wonder Heaven wasn’t being reckless even though Ivy was abducted.

This matter wasn’t meant to be approached without thorough consideration.

"Right now, what we’re sure of is that Dragon’s target isn’t us, but Dimitri. Considering Dimitri is a clever man, he surely has figured out he was the original target and not Ivy," Heaven broke the silence before it could build up further. "However, the fact that Ram joined hands with Dragon for whatever reasons puts uncertainty on who would win between them. Either way, that is something that I don’t care."

Heaven straightened her back and rested her leg over the other. "It doesn’t matter who wins or loses. We’ll kill them all in one sweep."

"Heh..." Tiger snickered, running his tongue across his inner cheek. "Those damn bastards."

"Normally, I wouldn’t favor this method. However, I don’t have enough pride in me to triumph in a more noble way. After all, not only Ivy is in their custody, but Leo Wu and my body as well," she continued. "Rest up while we’re making preparations. I’ll wake you up once everything is over."

Tiger snapped his eyes back to her and sighed. His lips parted, but his voice didn’t come out. As if guessing what he was about to say, Heaven offered him a smile.

"Don’t worry," she reassured. "I did tell you about Axel’s effort, but I haven’t told you about Moose."

"Hmm?"

"Thanks to his love for money and that request you put up in the underground, he had been working hard trying to protect Ivy," she mentioned, planting her hands on her leg as she pushed herself up slowly. "Fortunately, he sent some people to watch her and make sure she’s safe. He called before you woke up; they found where they are."

"What?" Tiger’s eyes widened while Heaven turned around and walked away. "Hey! Oy, Hera Cruel! Why didn’t you say that from the start, eh!?"

Heaven smirked as she looked back at him. "I said I would’ve kicked you for bullying my sweet, good little brother-in-law. But since I can’t do that, I have to find a way to punish you." She pulled down her lower eyelid and slightly stuck her tongue out.

"That’s what you get for acting like an uncontrollable beast," she added before turning around to leave.

"That little shi—!" Tiger winced and held his side because of the pain. When he looked up, Heaven had already closed the door behind her. "Damn it! She’s truly a vengeful witch."

He panted for air and slowly relaxed his body. When he calmed himself down, he gazed up at the ceiling and heaved a sigh of relief.

"Ivy..." he whispered, closing his eyes ever so slowly to rest.

[Minutes ago]

When Dominic received a call from Axel, Heaven and Bear accompanied him to check on Tiger. They had instructed Moose to stay behind to look after No One. But Moose hadn’t received any calls since they left, leaving him anxious and bored.

"Damn... I hope Tiger doesn’t die," he whispered, idling in the living area with his feet on the coffee table, and eyes fixed on the ceiling. "He still hasn’t given me the passcode of his vault. It would’ve been better if he had done that, at least."

A grunt escaped him as he prayed that his "emergency fund" wouldn’t disappear so soon. As he prayed, he suddenly remembered something.

"Right..." he muttered, slipping his hand inside the pocket of his jeans. "How are they going to contact me if my phone is turned off?"

Watching his phone power up, Moose furrowed his brows the moment it lit up. His face twitched uncontrollably, seeing tons of missed calls and messages.

"What the hell is this?" he muttered, checking the people who had tried to call him in the past few hours. "What the hell, Axel? Why does his assistant keep trying to call me?"

Just as Moose was about to return the call, his phone rang. His furrowed brows knitted even more, but he answered the call. At the same time, Primo, who had finally regained consciousness, walked out of the room on the first floor near the living area.

When Primo stepped out of the room, he scanned the area and spotted Moose in the living area.

"Ahem!" Primo cleared his throat. "Mr. M—"

"Bwahahaha!"

Primo flinched and stopped as Moose suddenly erupted into loud laughter. Furrowing his brows, he watched Moose laughing and spreading his arms like a villain in a movie while holding his phone to his ear.

"What the hell is wrong with him?" Primo murmured, shaking his head as he watched Moose continue his bizarre behavior. Shaking his head, he went back to his room to rest and save himself from whatever Moose was up to.
