Chapter 815: Mission Complete

Chapter 815: Mission Complete

Deborah and Hunter might have been desperate, but at the back of their minds, they couldn’t safely say they were confident in their savior, Ralph, or what he said to call him, Fig. When he told them they could just go, they didn’t understand it.

Although the torture house didn’t have as many people compared to the mansion, their numbers were still not to be underestimated. They couldn’t simply come out of the torture room, but then again, Hunter and Deborah had no other reasons not to listen to him. They would die anyway.

"Ugh..." Hunter grunted in pain as Fig tied him on his back with his blazer suit. "My tendon."

Fig pulled the sleeves to secure the man behind him. "I’ll take you to the nearest hospital. So, you have to endure the pain."

Hunter knew that. It just hurt.

"Now you," Fig said, blinking at the woman standing a step from him, wearing his dress shirt, which explained his chunky and shiny top displayed. "I can’t pick you up there. I have someone on my back already. Unlike him, you’re in a much better state. So, walk over here. I’ll carry you."

"I think I can..." Deborah trailed off as she cleared her throat. "Can you carry two people?"

"The path is clear, so I don’t mind," Fig replied almost nonchalantly. "Even so, we have to hurry. Letting you walk on your own might result in disaster. Frankly, staying here and explaining the obvious to you is already a waste of time."

She pressed her lips and cleared her throat once again, limping her way to him. "Sorry," she said, raising her arms and wrapping them around his neck. In the blink of an eye, her feet left the ground as Fig carried her in a bridal style. At the same time, Hunter let out a grunt because Fig’s movement hurt his injuries.

With Deborah in his arms and Hunter on his back, Fig straightened his posture and huffed.

"Your injuries will hurt with my movements. Just try your best to hold out until we’re out of here," he said, marching toward the door without waiting for their response. Fig kicked the door, warranting a grunt from both Deborah and Hunter, but he didn’t stop strutting his way out.

Unknowingly, Hunter and Deborah had their eyes shut. Fig kept a steady pace until both of them got used to the routine. Slowly, Deborah opened her eyes.

"What the... hell?" she whispered, holding her breath at the sight ahead.

They were walking on the main path toward the torture house, but there was no one around except for a few corpses lying lifelessly on the side. Even Hunter couldn’t help but hold his breath as he mustered the courage to peek ahead.

Normally, the torture house would be guarded by a few members of the organization. The numbers matched the ones on the floor, dead. If they were still working for Dragon, Hunter and Deborah could imagine themselves being one of those around them.

"It’s not me." As if he could read their minds, Fig clarified. "I moved the bodies that stood in my way so as not to surprise those who will visit you. It’s my partner’s doing."

"Where is he?"

"Outside."

Deborah looked at Fig, bewildered. Fig didn’t look at her, keeping his eyes ahead.

"As you can see, they didn’t die due to a bullet," he explained, glancing at a body he was about to walk by. "If they did, I’m sure people are already standing in our way."

Deborah and Hunter kept their observant eyes on Fig before shifting their attention. Their eyes landed on the body lying on the ground as Fig walked past him. They hadn’t noticed it earlier, but now that they did, the corpse they walked by didn’t seem to have died in a shootout. It was more like they exploded, which was a little weird. Even though their wounds were small, they weren’t as small as a bullet.

How did they die?

The mystery that hovered over Hunter and Deborah’s minds lingered, as Fig didn’t explain it to them. Instead, Fig let the mystery keep the two preoccupied. Fig focused on finding his way out, and soon, he found the back entrance of the establishment. Fig raised a foot and mildly pushed the door with it, stepping out, catching sight of a red luxury SUV parked outside.

Deborah and Hunter squinted, gazing at the flashy red SUV car just outside the back exit. As they assessed the vehicle, their eyes caught a figure sitting on the front bumper. There, a man with a device in his hand was idling with a lollipop in his mouth. He was holding a gaming device, a large hood covering his head but not concealing some spiky hair sticking out of it.

"Yo!" Joker turned, catching Fig carrying two people: one in his arm and another on his back. His face twitched as his eyes fell on Hunter’s foot. "Shit."

"Open the door," Fig said, only for Joker to throw a tantrum.

"Hell no! I’m not letting those guys in my car!" Joker gasped, pointing at Hunter’s feet with his hands. "Can’t you see? They’re injured. Also, who is that guy? Leave him. The mission is to take that woman to safety! I’m not taking that guy in my car and letting him spread his dirt in it!"

"He’s Ram’s agent." Unfazed, Fig replied sternly. "We’re taking him."

"He’s Ram’s agent?" Joker narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "So what? Let him die on a mission."

"Boss will be elated if we take this man," Fig reasoned. "She might be so happy she’ll fall for you."

Joker arched a brow. "Do you take me for a fool? What makes you think I’ll believe that lame lie?"

"Then I’ll leave this guy behind if you don’t believe me."

"Tch!" Joker ruffled his hair without taking off his hood. "Fine! Take them inside! Damn it!"

Fig smiled a bit in satisfaction. He glanced over his shoulder and then peeked down at Deborah. Both of them had this indescribable look on their faces, obviously wondering who these guys were. But before they could ask, Fig had already placed them in the back seat: Deborah first, then Hunter.

As they settled in their seats, Fig took the front passenger seat. Joker, visibly talking into his earpiece, entered last. The last thing they heard before the quiet ride was,

"Mission Complete, Boss."
