"Hera will be disappointed," she whispered, setting her eyes on the window as she heard the door open. ’If I was correct, she was strict about making noises. It’s really amazing how sharp her observations are. I don’t even have to tell myself because my brain already tells me someone is coming.’

"Why are you here?" A few seconds later, a pair of arms wrapped around her body, hugging her from behind. Dragon rested his chin on her shoulder, his head turned to her. "You should be resting on the bed. Weren’t you tired?"

Hera smiled beautifully as she turned her head to look at him. "I’ve been lying on the bed for years that even when I was tired, I feel like it’s better if I stand up once in a while."

"Haha." He chuckled. "I thought what we did was not enough to tire you."

"Frank, stop that." She pouted and clicked her tongue, purposely putting her hand on his arms as she relaxed her body against him. "I love you, Frank."

Dragon raised his brows and smiled. "I love you too, Hera."

"Isn’t this nice?" she changed the topic after sporting a satisfied smile. "I feel like we’re a totally married couple."

"We’ve always been married."

"But back then, I always felt like there’s a wall between us." She cast him a sidelong glance. "But now, my heart is full and I feel like I’m on top of the world."

Hera set her eyes back to the window, staring at his reflection while maintaining a smile. "Also, I feel like you suddenly love me more."

"How so?"

"I don’t know?" she shrugged. "Back then, you were nice, considerate, and, overall, kind to me. Maybe it’s just me, but I thought it was strange that you’re close, but not close enough for me to reach. I didn’t feel this kind of touch and warmth."

Her eyes softened as her smile turned subtle. "Perhaps it was because you have a lot of things on your plate. And that I was simply being a little needy." She slowly peeled his arm from her abdomen, turning around to face him. Hera meticulously wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling at him lovingly.

"But now, I feel like... you’re too close," she whispered affectionately. "That you’re within my reach and that I don’t have to be careful."

"I’m sorry if that’s what I made you feel." He smiled back, caressing her knuckles carefully. "I was just trying my best not to make you uncomfortable. Who would have thought that my attempts to give you plenty of time for yourself end up making you feel alone?"

"Can you promise me one thing, Frank?" she asked softly, watching his brows elevate. "Will you always love me like this?"

Dragon smiled broadly as he nodded. "I promise. Can you also promise me one thing?"

"What is it?"

"Will you love me like this... forever?" he repeated, making her giggle. "Even if you find out, I may not be perfect?"

"No one’s perfect," she replied, standing on her toes to plant a quick peck on his lips. When she drew her head back, the side of her lips stretched from ear to ear. "Unless I am perfect, then what right do I have to require you to be one?"

Dragon chuckled as he pulled her waist closer. "Fun fact," he said. "You used to say you’re the only perfect person in this world."

"What?"

"Mhm. You were so confident and bold back then," he shared, looking up while chuckling at the memory in his mind. Lowering his gaze to her, another soft chuckle escaped him. "Little by little, I’ll tell you more about you. You’d be surprised just how different you were back then and now."

"Well, with what you said, I’ll probably have the shock of my life," she humored back before a momentary glint flickered across her eyes. "But what I’m sure of is that what remained unchanged is my love for you."

His smile cracked a little, but still nodded. "For sure, Hera," he whispered, lowering his head, and claiming her lips as if it was his.
