Chapter 766: Write a good script for me
"Isn’t that right, Frank?"
Dragon narrowed his eyes as he held Leo’s challenging gaze. After a second, the corner of his lips slowly curled up, amused at this man’s deceptive skills and how quickly he adapted to the situation.
"That is correct," Dragon nodded, snapping his eyes at his wife. "It was Leo’s wish to spare you from this even further."
"But..." Hera bit her bottom lip as she sighed deeply. "How is that possible?"
"Hera," Dragon squeezed her shoulder mildly. "What matters is that you are okay now, and Leo will be fine."
"See?" Leo smiled. "I’m fine, so don’t feel disheartened anymore."
Hera assessed the reassuring smile plastered on Leo’s face. She then looked up at her husband, only to see his smile.
"Fine," she conceded. "I’ll try."
Both men smiled in satisfaction, but what she failed to notice was the glint in their eyes.
"I know you want to catch up with our dearest friend, but it’s getting late," Dragon remarked. "Let me help you to your room."
Hera wore a short smile and nodded.
"Leo, thank you for your time," she expressed as she gazed back at the man. "I’ll be back tomorrow. Let’s continue our chat, then."
"Mhm," Leo hummed and nodded.
With that being said, Dragon assisted Hera from her chair. He let her hold his arm as they walked away. Dragon glanced over his shoulder before reaching the door while Leo’s smile remained.
"Good night, Leo." Hera looked back for the last time before Dragon closed the door.
Leo’s smile remained until the door closed. His smile faded as his eyes sharpened. He peeled his gaze from the door, setting them on the high ceiling.
"Hera Cruel..." he whispered, remembering the name Dragon uttered. "You don’t seem like a bad person, but I’m sorry. You’re the reason I’m in here. So, you’ve got to get me out of here."

When Hera and Dragon arrived in her room, the maids quickly helped her wash up. Dragon remained in her room to spend dinner with her. Sitting around the table near each other, Hera hummed.
"Frank?" she called as she swallowed her food. "What’s Leo like?"
Dragon arched a brow as he pretended to think about it. "He’s a nice person."
"Is he your best friend?" she asked, head tilted to the side. "From what he said, we seemed to have a wonderful friendship."
"What did he tell you?"
"Huh?"
"What did he tell you?" he repeated sternly. "What makes you think we have a wonderful friendship?"
"Frank, why are you raising your voice?"
"I’m not," Dragon breathed out deeply. "I’m just curious."
Hera bit her lips slightly as she sighed. "He didn’t say much. All I know is that I have something to do with his situation. I feel bad, and hearing that he didn’t want me to feel guilty about it makes it even worse. So, I assumed we had a great friendship to make such a sacrifice."
"Frank, thank you for taking care of us," she continued as she reached for his hand. "Because of you, Leo and I were still alive. It’s not a surprise that Leo protects you."
Dragon observed her soft expression and her eyes, which twinkled with appreciation and gratitude. The corner of his lips curled up, nodding at her mildly.
"Don’t mention it," he said. "Now, eat your meal."
"Can I visit him again tomorrow?" she quickly asked, squeezing his hand. "Since Deb already left, I think it’ll be nice for me to accompany Leo. After all, if there’s someone who will understand me aside from you, it’s him."
"I’ll think about it," he said with a subtle smile. "He still needs rest. You, as well. How can you take care of a sick person if you’re not well yourself?"
"But I think it’s much better to have someone who knows me around me when you’re not around." Her smile brightened until her eyes were squinting. "Of course, I prefer it if it’s you. But I can’t just ask you to stop everything. You already waited for me, and I can’t be so selfish to ask for more."
Hera withdrew her hand from him, giggling. Meanwhile, Dragon observed her mood but said nothing.

[Guest’s House]
"I underestimated you," Dragon admitted, seated beside the bed where Leo was. "You’re quite clever."
Leo smirked as he cast the man a side-eye. "Thanks to you. I know a bit about her."
"My poor wife."
"She’s the reason I am in here," Leo breathed out through his gritted teeth. "It’s only fair if she keeps me alive and takes responsibility. I don’t feel sorry for using her."
"Mr. Wu." A short laugh escaped Dragon’s smirk, shaking his head mildly. "I admit I underestimate your ability to deceive a poor woman. However, it’s not a smart thing to assume I can’t do anything even if you introduced yourself to her. I can kill you tonight and tell her you had to move far away. It’ll make her sad, but she’ll eventually accept it."
"I know you can do that. You can kill me tonight." Leo lifted his chin, keeping his heart still. "But you didn’t. Instead, here you are, talking to me instead of burying me."
"Do you see me in such an awful light?"
"It’s much worse."
"Haha. Hilarious." Dragon blinked ever so slowly, his expression a total contrast to his remarks. He narrowed his eyes, assessing the brave look on Leo’s face.
"Let’s hear it," he said. "Tell me why I shouldn’t order my men to take you to your grave?"
"I can be useful." Leo didn’t waste a second to sell himself. "Since you didn’t know she came in here, that means you refrained people from monitoring her. I can keep an eye on her, act as her friend, and make sure she doesn’t forget she has to be grateful to you."
He gulped as he took another deep breath. "I don’t really care about your reason and why you’re like that to your wife. However, I don’t want to die. Not in this way — not because a stranger called the wrong person. I won’t allow that."
"Interesting." The corners of Dragon’s lips curled up as his eyes shone with intrigue. "No wonder you succeed in this life."
Dragon pushed himself up and wordlessly turned around to leave. Seeing that he was leaving without giving Leo any clear answer, the latter panicked.
"What do you think?" Leo’s voice shook, eyes wide as Dragon stopped. "Is that a yes?"
Dragon glanced over his shoulder as he said, "Someone will come in here later. He’ll let you know everything you need to learn. Write a good script for me."
