Chapter 727: Nine hells

So, what do you think?"

Hera smiled radiantly as she looked around the garden. With Dragon’s help, she walked around until she sat down in her wheelchair to rest. Meanwhile, Dragon sat on the bench, and her wheelchair was facing him.

"It’s definitely better," she mused, her cheeks turning pinkish. "I’ve been locked up in my room since waking up, and it feels good to finally breathe in fresh air."

"Have you always wanted to come here?" he asked out of plain curiosity.

"Mhm, but you said I was still very sick." Her smile faltered a little, and she lowered her shoulders. "So I didn’t want to worry you. You’ve been taking care of me for years, and I don’t want to be stubborn. After all, my husband is working so much, and I don’t want to be one of your worries."

"Aren’t you sweet?" His eyes softened, pleased whenever she referred to him as her other half. "Should we stay here a bit longer?"

"Yes, please." Hera looked around with a smile. When her eyes landed on the mansion behind him, a shallow breath escaped her lips. "Frank, what do you do for a living?"

She slowly redirected her gaze to him, curiosity in her eyes. "This house is too big for just the two of us."

"It’s not just the two of us. We have maids, bodyguards, and doctors," he shrugged. "Do you think it’s too big for us?"

"It will be too big if you don’t see me," she smiled. "Even so, I’m curious. I don’t think you told me what you do for a living that requires you to fly to another country a few times a week."

"I’m a businessman."

"Oh?"

"I have a few businesses and international branches, which explain my schedule," he explained, keeping it short and simple. "I can afford many things, so if you want anything, just tell me. I can gift you a fighter jet if you ask."

"Why would I want a fighter jet?" She frowned while he chuckled.

"Right. You’re not interested in those things," — not anymore, he replied with a nod. "Let’s go. I think you should rest now."

"Mhm." Hera hummed as she looked around the garden once more, smiling. "Can I come here again tomorrow?"

"So long as you’re with someone. I don’t see any reason you shouldn’t," Dragon shrugged nonchalantly before he slowly rose from his seat. He then walked around the wheelchair, placing his hand on the handle to wheel her back in.

"Are you leaving again tomorrow?" she asked, looking back at him. "Why do you sound like you can’t accompany me tomorrow?"

"I have a prior commitment tomorrow, so I’ll leave early in the morning."

"Oh." She nodded in understanding. "Are you going home, then?"

"In the evening."

"I see." Hera peeled her eyes away from him as she looked ahead. "Then who will accompany me tomorrow if I want to go to the garden?"

"If you want, I’ll ask the doctor to help you. Just tell your bodyguards you want to go to the garden, and they will accompany you."

"Oh." Hera cast her eyes down, frowning. "Alright."

Dragon gazed down at her and sighed a bit. The Hera he knew would rather stay alone and not be bothered by anyone. He could still remember how many times she refused other people’s company in the past, but now she was feeling a little down just because she would be alone.

’I guess it’ll take time to get used to it.’ He shrugged, feigning ignorance of her sadness.

Soon enough, Dragon and Hera reached her room. He wheeled her to the side of the bed, helping her move from the wheelchair to the bed. Dragon made sure to tuck her in, letting her lean against the headboard with the blanket over her legs.

"Anyway, you need to drink this." He sat on the edge of the bed, taking out a small pill storage from his suit.

Hera glanced at the pill he poured into his palm. She slowly looked up at him, confused.

"But I already took my medicine," she said. "The next medicine is in five hours."

"Just take it." He smiled. "It’s a vitamin your doctors told me to give you."

Displeasure immediately shone in her eyes. "Again?" she mumbled as she hesitatingly took the pill from his palm.

"Why do I have to take so many medicines?" she complained under her breath, looking up at him to see him smiling.

"It is for you, Hera," he said, taking the glass of water from the bedside table to give it to her. "Come on. For your recovery, you have to take everything."

Hera didn’t take the glass of water immediately, looking at him squarely.

"Fine," she breathed out as she took the glass of water from him. "I hope this is the last addition in my journey to recovery."

She took a large gulp as he held the pill in one hand and a glass of water in the other. She closed her eyes for a moment and drew a deep breath. With closed eyes, she swallowed the pill and drank the glass of water in one go.

Dragon smiled as he watched her take the pill. When she finished, she let out a deep exhale.

"Happy now?" she asked, looking back at him.

"Yes, Hera. Very much." Dragon cupped her face and brushed her cheek with his thumb. "Now, rest. Give me the glass."

He took the glass from her and placed it on the bedside table. Meanwhile, Hera blinked her weary eyes while watching him. Just when the bottom of the glass touched the surface of the bedside table, a glint flickered in his eyes as a faint thud reached his ears. When Dragon turned his head, his eyes landed on the woman lying unconscious on the bed.

"I guess the new drug is quite powerful," he commented with a shrug. But instead of tucking her in, he slowly slipped his arms under her body and carried her in his arms.

"Regaining your memories?" he mocked as he gazed down at her, threading carefully toward the door. "Don’t make me laugh. As you always say, Hera, never in nine hells."
