Chapter 726: Isn’t this a good sign?

Meanwhile...

"Haha." Dragon laughed as he glanced at the man who whispered beside him. His lips stretched until his pearl-like teeth and the deep dimple in his cheek appeared. "He never ceased to surprise me."

He shook his head. Just now, the news of a new order spread quickly underground. The order was the complete opposite of the order he decreed not long ago. But instead of getting angry about it, he found it entertaining and amusing.

"A request like that will surely change the game, Dragon," said the man with glasses, walking a step behind Dragon. He purposely slowed down, allowing Dragon to walk a step ahead.

"It will, indeed." Dragon nodded, hands inside his pocket. "Instead of just one man spilling blood, it’ll be a bloodbath."

Dragon stopped before the door and placed his hand on the knob. He looked back at the man with glasses, smirking.

"Don’t retract the order. I would love to watch this bloodbath unfold." He slowly peeled his eyes from him as he added, "Oh, Tiger. I wonder if this action is because of a woman?"

Dragon let out another shallow chuckle as he twisted the knob, opening it ever so slowly. As soon as he stepped inside the room, his eyes fell on Hera, who was sitting on the edge of the bed. The three doctors with her were giving her notes while she listened intently.

"Oh?" Hera’s brows rose as she gazed at the man by the door. "Frank!"

Her face brightened up at the sight of him, making him smile subtly. The three doctors with her tilted their heads down slightly.

"How was she?" he asked as he marched inside, stopping a few steps from the doctors.

"Her vitals are still stable, and she’s recovering well," said one of the doctors with a reassuring nod. "Although we still don’t advise her to exert too much strength. A light exercise is okay, but don’t overdo it."

Dragon and Hera listened to the doctor’s advice together. A subtle smile appeared on his face as he nodded in understanding. Hera, on the other hand, would glance at him from time to time. When he slid his eyes to her and arched a brow, all he saw was her suppressed laugh.

’Hah...’Dragon smirked as he looked away from her. He exchanged a few words with the doctors, asking them a few questions, and listening to their answers. When they bid them farewell, Dragon called someone outside the room to assist them.

"So?" As the three doctors who were in charge of her recovery walked away, Dragon twisted his body to face her. "Why are you smiling so wide, darling?"

"The doctors said I’m doing great even during the therapy," she said, holding his hand with both her hands. "That means Frank doesn’t need to worry about me so much."

Dragon studied her smile for a second before he chuckled. He slowly walked toward her, plopping his butt down beside her on the edge of the bed.

"Have you been thinking I was worried about you?" he asked, holding her hand and guiding it to his lips.

"Of course," she pouted. "If you’re not worried about me, you wouldn’t work so hard and try to come back to be with me."

"Oh, is that so?"

"The doctor said if this continues, I can live normally," she giggled at the thought. "Frank, you said once I get better, I can go out, right?"

He squinted his eyes but still nodded. "Where do you want to go?"

"There!" Hera excitedly pointed at the window. "I want to go there!"

His brows rose as he slowly turned his head to the window. He cocked his head to the side as he looked back at her.

"You want to go to the garden?" he asked with a little bit of amusement. She nodded profusely as an answer.

"Since waking up, I’ve always looked at that window. The garden is very pretty, Frank, and it makes me wonder what’s like to be in there."

"How cute." Dragon pinched her cheek as his eyelids drooped slightly. "It reminded me of something in the past."

"Huh?" Hera tilted her head to the side. "What about it?"

"Nothing." He shook his head. "It’s just that back then, you also said the same thing." — it was just that, unlike her bubbly attitude now, that time she said those exact same words sounded more disconcerting.

"Frank, you promised me that you would tell me everything about me before I fell into a coma." She frowned, earning a chuckle from him.

"Of course, but this time, it’s just nothing. I only recalled that you’re still saying things you used to say."

Hera blinked, still a little confused about it. "Frank, do you think I’m regaining my memories?"

"Hmm?"

"Maybe I can remember everything!" she clapped excitedly. "Isn’t this a good sign?"

The smile on his face remained, but the corner of his eyes sharpened. Looking at her reaction, she seemed elated at the thought of regaining her memories. For Dragon, on the other hand, this wasn’t a good possibility.

"It is." Despite his inner thoughts, Dragon smiled brightly as he nodded. "Though don’t force yourself. We’re both not in a hurry. Focus on your recovery first."

"Mhm!" Hera bit her bottom lip to stop it from stretching wider. "Anyway, did something happen? When you came in here, you were smiling. I presumed something good happened."

"Oh, you noticed?"

"I always notice, Frank." She hummed with a giggle, squeezing his hand. "So, did something good happen?"

"Not good per se... but something amusing." Dragon dawdled his words, taking a deliberate pause as he studied the smile on her face. "Tiger did something amusing yet again."

Dragon narrowed his eyes slightly to see any change in her reaction. However, Hera just furrowed her brows and cocked her head to the side.

"You have a tiger as a pet?" she asked out of pure curiosity. "You didn’t say you have one!"

Dragon studied her for a few more seconds before he smiled. "It’s not a pet, but more like a person. Well, he’s an animal, so I guess it’s the same thing. Anyway, did you say you want to go to the garden?"

"Hmm?"

"Let’s go. I’ll take you there." He smiled in satisfaction.

"Really!?" Hera clasped his hand excitedly. "I can go there?!"

"Of course. You’re not my prisoner, Hera." Dragon tucked a portion of her hair behind her ear, smiling gently. "Moreover, the doctor said it’s good if you try walking around so you get used to it."

"Yes!" Hera grinned from ear to ear, turning her head to the window. As she looked away, a glint flickered across his eyes as his smirk faded.
