"Again, I’m not making you choose. I’m giving you a chance to choose someone other than me." Heaven also clenched her teeth in irritation, emphasizing each word, hoping her point would get through to him. "Do you know that Ivy was being followed earlier today?"

"I asked Moose to take care of her."

"And you asked the wrong person to do so. Do you think Moose still has his elite team under his control?" A mocking laugh escaped her mouth. He drew a deep breath and cocked his head back, looking up at the dark sky. "You’re right. She doesn’t deserve to hold onto false hope since our survival rate is below thirty percent. I sort of like the woman, but I’m not leaving you alone."

"When you died, I didn’t really accept it. Whenever people bring you up, something stings under my skin. And I loathed Bernard for letting you die that day," he continued with a quiet voice. Tiger slowly pulled his head and looked at her once again. "Second chances like this never happened before, and I don’t plan to regret anything this time around."

"Are you saying...?"

"I’m saying that once Dragon is dead, you’ll be at the bottom of my priority list," he clarified, raising his brows. "I am not your priority anymore, anyway. It’s unfair that I would keep putting you first before myself. It’s just that... I can’t leave you, especially at this crucial time. Dragon is our brother, but it’s hard to move forward with the past catching up to the present and possibly controlling our future."

Tiger slowly peeled his eyes from her as he picked up the beer can and guided it to his lips. "I’ll deal with your friend accordingly. Expect that she’d be in a little bit of pain."

"I feel sorry for her." Heaven shook her head mildly, thinking that Ivy would go through another heartbreak. "She should see the psychiatrist I recommended because it seemed the one she was currently seeing was not as effective."

"I’m insulted." Tiger cast her a side-eye, only to see her shrug.

"It’s just weird for me, sorry." She lifted the can of beer to her lips. "First, she liked that squid. And now, she fell for a hobo. I’m getting worried about her state of mind."

"Well." Tiger cleared his throat. "Since you started it, I should admit I have the same thought about your husband. That man is... wow. Just how can he sleep at night beside a psycho?"

Her expression died as she looked at him in dismay. "Excuse me, with this face? Come on. Don’t deny that you found me pretty when you first met me."

"Are you crazy?"

"I’m just saying. It’s not like I would be mad to know my brother fantasized about me."

"Hey!" Tiger gasped, disgusted at this verbal attack. "Don’t you feel goosebumps saying all that nonsense?"

"What?" Heaven cocked her head to the side, sporting an innocent face. "You can tease others, but I can’t tease you the same way you do to make others uncomfortable."

"Geez! Dominic needs to see a therapist. His wife totally lost it!"

"I’m an actress. An award-winning one at that." She grinned and giggled. "He has no idea, Tiger."

"I feel sorry for him."

"Oh, come on. You just got to admit —" Heaven bit her tongue as an arm locked around her neck, holding her in a headlock. Her eyes instantly sharpened as she glared daggers at him.

"Say another word, and I’ll choke you," he warned, watching her tongue protrude from her cheek. He shook his head as he warned again, "Don’t you dare open that damn mouth."

"Tiger, how many young boys and men in this country do you think have a poster of me in their room?" she asked with genuine wonder in her voice. "I’m those young, horny boys’ hero —"

"That’s it! Say your prayers!"

"Ah! Wait! I’m kidding!"

Tiger kept Heaven in a headlock while she tapped on his shoulder. In the end, however, despite their current position, both gained some clarity and reassurance. Heaven got her reassurance that Tiger didn’t plan to drag Ivy into their mess, and Tiger gained clarity he liked Ivy more than he thought he did.
