"I wonder what she wants from me now?" Tiger wondered as he slowed down, arching a brow upon catching a car parked near the bridge. When he saw Heaven sitting on the bumper, he sighed and pulled over to the side.

This wasn’t the first time Heaven called him to meet her somewhere else. Even as Hera, she would occasionally do this, even though they lived in the same place. Each meeting had a different agenda, but mostly, it was discussed over a couple of beers. Thus, Tiger stretched his hand in the front passenger seat to pick up a small carton of beer he bought on the way.

Tiger unhesitatingly hitched outside the driver’s seat, hearing some honks from the highway. He hissed at the cars speeding to the bridge, shaking his head mildly.

"Jerks," he commented before swinging the plastic bag over his shoulder. He strutted toward the other car parked a few meters from his, catching Heaven as he approached. She was sitting idly on the car’s bumper with a can of beer in her hand. There was also a plastic full of can of beers placed on top of the bumper, making him chuckle at the sight of it.

"It seems we have tons of beers tonight," he remarked as he approached her. "Nice choice of location, by the way. We’ve got such a nice view over there."

Tiger pointed at the river over the bridge, but there was nothing to see but darkness. He grinned humorously as he propped his bottom against the bumper beside her, his eyes on her side profile.

"So?" he spoke again despite receiving nothing but silence in response. "Why did you call me in here?"

"Clark, did Wolf reach out to you?"

Her question alone was enough for Tiger to understand where she was going. He clicked his tongue languidly as he picked out a can of beer, opening it with a shrug.

"Don’t worry about it," he said as he moved the beer can forward so it wouldn’t spill on his shoes. "If Frank shows up again, I’ll kill him for sure. I’m not missing that head of his."

Heaven slowly turned her head to face him. "That’s not what worries me."

"Huh?"

"It’s good that you didn’t kill Dragon that night because my hunch tells me we’d all be dead by now if you did."

"Hah." Tiger let out a dry laugh as he shrugged. "You don’t know that since it never happened. Anyway, it’s his mistake to put a bounty on my head. I haven’t been exercising properly since becoming your husband’s bodyguard. All I’ve done is meet different politicians and some businessmen. I’m sure I don’t have to elaborate."

"I heard Bear asked you to take a leave."

"He did, telling me he would replace me for a while. But, oh well, I’m good. You know I hate it when someone is slowing me down."

"My husband isn’t slowing you down. It’s just that he is focusing more on other things instead of the dirty work." Heaven slowly looked away from him and set her eyes on the darkness shrouding the river. "Tiger, I heard from Ivy what happened last night."

Tiger’s face froze for a moment before he instinctively defended himself. "I didn’t do anything! I could mess with her, but I didn’t because, first, she’s your friend."

"Clark, do you like Ivy?" Heaven mostly ignored everything he said as she looked back at him once again. "Tell me the truth."

"Er..." Tiger furrowed his brows, assessing the seriousness dominating her face. He shrugged before taking another mouthful of beer. He hissed as the acid lined down his throat, licking his lips as he asked, "Why are you asking?"

"Because Ivy is my friend, and right now, your current disposition might put her in danger." Her answer was quick, without a shred of hesitation. "By now, you should’ve noticed how things have changed in my husband’s family."

"With or without your presence, the Zhu family is already a mess."

"And that is why I have more reason to stay with them," she argued in a knowing tone. "Ivy is different. She has problems, correct, but not the types of problems we currently deal with. You being with her puts her in danger, Clark."

This time, Tiger went completely silent. All he could do was stare at Heaven while the latter’s eyes shone with sharpness.

"I’m letting you go." Heaven stopped him mid-sentence, making him frown with knitted brows. "If you want to be with her, I’m not stopping you. But I have to remove you from this operation."

Tiger twisted his upper body to face her, letting out a short laugh of disbelief. "You’re dismissing me?"

"Yes."

"No." He shook his head. "Hera, do you really think you can do that?"

"If I beat you up, yes."

"Haha. You’re kidding."

"Clark." Heaven faced him squarely, looking at him straight in the eye. "Ivy is my precious friend, and you’re my brother. You’ve always been with me all your life. If there’s a chance that you can have your own happiness, I don’t want to be in the way anymore."

"You know that’s bullshit, Hera." Tiger let out another shaky laugh. "I will leave Ivy in a heartbeat for you."

"That’s why I want you to stop that," she argued back, stressing each word to get her point across. "If you want to see her, then go with her. But if you can’t, it’s better if you don’t give her any false hope. Ivy deserves someone who will prioritize her and not just your second option."
