Chapter 710: Fleeing
Chapter 710: Fleeing
"Anyway, her name is not Pepsi. It’s Hera — I mean, Heaven Liu."
If you were in the employees’ of the art department’s shoes, what would surprise you the most?
Should they be shocked at the fact that their errand girl was actually the current matriarch of the Zhu Family? Who, until the present, was the biggest mystery in the Lyon Group and all the company’s associates? And possibly a minister’s wife? Or the fact that all this time, the errand girl was actually the nation’s favorite celebrity?
A long silence dominated the art department when Dominic left after dropping that last bomb. Everyone stayed in their spots motionless with their blank eyes fixed on the entrance.
"Oh, god..." Mister Yang took a step, only to stagger back. He instinctively lifted his hands, placing them on the wall so as not to fall. His knees were shaking uncontrollably, and his face was drained of color.
Everyone slowly turned their heads to him. Compared to their own worries, the one who needed to be scared the most was Mister Yang. It was his fault. He was the one who mindlessly mistook the Young Madam as the new errand girl!
For goodness’ sake! Of all people, why did he have to mistake the matriarch of the Zhu Family for a mere errand girl!? If not for this mistake, they wouldn’t even know who Pepsi was! And they wouldn’t be in this situation! Because of Mister Yang, they all treated Heaven like an errand girl, and even worked her to the bones!
Heaven was just visiting the company for a very important meeting and she ended up as an errand girl! What were the odds?
"I should... clean up my desk..." Mister Yang mustered his reserved energy to drag himself back to his office. The life in his eyes already died, and his heart was just filled with regrets.
How was he supposed to face Heaven... the Young Madam now? Mister Yang would be lucky to keep his position after this. After all, he realized many things in such a short span of time. Not just the fact that he mistook the Young Madam as an errand girl and worked her to the bones. He also remembered the countless times he scolded her terribly and how he didn’t deal with all these rumors properly.
"I should request more work from the higher-ups," he mumbled to himself, realizing it was better when everyone was catching a deadline. During that time, everyone was occupied, and gossip like this never happened. He wouldn’t care if he would lose all his hair, instead of losing his job, which was his family’s bread and butter.
Rumors. Such a vile thing to exist!

[CEO’s Office]
"Sit down." Dominic marched toward the couch after catching Axel cleaning up his desk. When he perched on the one-seater couch, he looked back at his brother. He tipped his head, gesturing Axel to sit down.
"Shit..." Axel winced as he breathed out before dragging his feet to join his brother. On his way, he tried to explain himself. "Brother, trust me! I didn’t know how people got the idea that I was her husband. I just heard it today, and the reason I denied it when you called me this morning is because I was scared! The rumors are ridiculous, but it’s still scary! Me and my sister? Geez. What’s wrong with people?"
Axel rolled his eyes as he plopped his butt down on the long couch. When his eyes fell on his brother’s face, he cleared his throat aloud.
"Bro, you’re not angry with me, are you?" he asked nervously. "I’m your brother, and I love my sister-in-law, but not in that way."
"I know." Dominic leaned back as he sighed. "I wonder why she ran away."
"What?"
"Do you know where she is?"
"Wait." Axel shook his head, confused. "Are you looking for my sister? Why are you asking me? Didn’t you see just how fast I ran?"
"This place is yours; it’s your playground. Shouldn’t you know where your sister ran off to?"
"Err... I didn’t even know she ran away." Axel frowned deeply. But then, thinking about it, it would be more surprising if Heaven didn’t. "Fine. Wait. I’ll call the control room. They’d know."
Axel sprawled his arm toward the coffee table where the telecommunication device was placed. After pressing a button, he gave out a quick request. When he finished, he faced Dominic and shrugged.
"I’ll hear from them in a bit," he said, and just as he said, a call suddenly came through just after a minute. When Axel answered it, the person reported immediately. Axel glanced at his brother and sighed.
"She left the building after calling for a sick leave," he relayed the news with a heavy heart. "And used my car — great! Bro, why did you have to go here?! Now she took my precious car!"

"Is everything okay?" Ivy inquired as she placed down the tray, eyes on Heaven, across the table. "You look... dead?"
Just half an hour ago, Ivy received a call from Heaven. The latter was asking if Ivy was free and could meet. Since Ivy had no important commitment for the rest of the day, she didn’t mind meeting Heaven in the nearby cafe.
Heaven glanced up at the woman across from her and sighed. She shook her head as she grabbed the milkshake and straw from the tray.
"Thanks for coming on short notice," she expressed unenthusiastically while peeling the straw’s plastic. "And no, I’m not dead. I’m living in fear at the moment."
"What happened?"
Heaven sighed once more as she glanced at Ivy. "Dom came to the office and now the cat is out of the bag!"
"Oh..."
"Apparently, another rumor rose about me. But this time, they mistook Axel as my husband." Heaven winced at the thought. "Geez. I’m having goosebumps."
"I see." Ivy couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at Heaven’s reason. "I can imagine Dom’s face and everyone. Too bad I wasn’t there to watch."
"Trust me. Everyone, including me, was scared."
"That’s why I wanted to see it." Ivy chuckled while Heaven shook her head. "By the way, Heaven, I want to tell you something."
"Great. Gossip. Something that will take my mind off the things in my head. What is it?" Heaven then clipped the straw in between her lips as she lifted her glass of milkshake. But just when Ivy mustered the courage to share her situation last night, some people from the corner of her eyes caught Heaven’s attention.
"So, what do you think about it?" Ivy asked, brows raised, a bit nervous from Heaven’s comment. Deep lines appeared between her brows upon seeing Heaven looking at the transparent glass of the cafe. "Heaven?"
"Ivy, let’s go back to your office." Heaven flashed Ivy a smile while Ivy tilted her head to the side.
Didn’t Heaven refuse to go to her office? That was why they met in this cafe. Even so, Ivy smiled back and nodded. As the two of them rose from their seats, Heaven glanced back at the transparent glass where she could see some people across the street looking in their direction.
