It wasn’t hard to become familiar with some faces when working at the Lyon Group for an extended period. During Dominic’s tenure, he rarely used the main entrance to his office. However, not everyone had the same privilege as him, so many higher-ups used the main entrance.

Some people even suspected she was Dominic’s mysterious wife. So, when Marissa and everyone saw her, their minds went blank for a moment. They usually only caught a glimpse of her because Ivy rarely lingered around the building. This was why everyone in the cafeteria who recognized her was equally shocked.

What was she doing here?

"Miss—Miss Wei," Marissa stammered, nervously straightening her back. "What are you doing here?"

"I don’t think you’re in a position to question why I’m here," Ivy replied with a cold expression and a domineering aura. "Your name?"

"Miss Wei—"

"Your name," Ivy emphasized, blinking slowly. "I’ve already seen and heard enough, Miss. You’ve gained quite the attention, after all. Can’t you see everyone is looking this way, watching this spectacle unfold? So, you don’t have to explain yourself. I’ve seen and heard enough, and I can assure you that what I’ve witnessed here will reach those in there."

She pointed her finger upward, referring to the higher-ups on the top floors – a place where she was certain the other woman hadn’t set foot since she started working there.

"I’m sure you already know that the new CEO has been sensitive about the smallest things in this company for the sake of his brother and the company," she continued, lowering her finger, her eyes still on Marissa. "Now, give me your name."

Marissa bit her bottom lip and clasped her hands together. This wasn’t what she expected either. Why, of all times, was this woman here? After working in this company for the past three years, Marissa was confident that the higher-ups never stepped foot in this cafeteria. Well, there was that one time when Dominic brought the entire board to lunch here, but that was a one-time occurrence and never happened again.

"I heard you work in the finance department," Ivy’s voice snapped Marissa back to her senses. "So, I’m sure you’re aware that wasting every second of my life means I’m also losing millions."

She raised her arm to check her slim wristwatch. "It’s been almost a minute since I asked for your name. I hope you can make up for my wasted time once you decide to give me your name."

"Marissa." Like a robot, Marissa immediately gave her name. "Marissa Long."

"Thank you." Ivy smiled as she took out her phone and placed it to her ear. "Marissa Long. Clear her desk."

The short phone call didn’t even last for fifteen seconds before she ended it. She then turned her attention back to Marissa.

"I hope you learn a valuable lesson today, Miss Long," Ivy said as she took a step forward, closing the gap between herself and Marissa. "You’re lucky I’m the one who saw this and no one else. The new CEO has quite the temper, you know."

"One more thing." Ivy leaned in to whisper in Marissa’s ear. "Have you not noticed that all the sodas sold in this cafeteria are from a single brand?"

Her eyes shifted to the corner as she added, "The Lyon Group has no partnership with this brand. I wonder since when did they start selling only this brand? You’re smart, why not think about that and the rumor you want to bring to light?"

Ivy slowly pulled her head back, smirking at the confused look on Marissa’s face. She raised her eyebrows, signaling Marissa to leave her sight before Ivy thought of ways to torment her.

Marissa, who had approached Heaven’s table with such confidence, walked away with her head down. Her face was red out of embarrassment. Some people even felt sorry for her, aware that she had just lost her job. Ivy had a little bit of power in this company, after all.

"Heh..." Heaven let out a short sigh as she watched Marissa and her lackeys walk away. "What a shame. I was just thinking of inviting her over."

"Miss Wei?" Belle raised her eyebrows as she nervously called Ivy to get her attention. "Thank you."

The frost covering Ivy’s countenance slowly melted away as she smiled. "It’s nothing."

Belle and the two other women who were with Heaven blushed at Ivy’s smile. They had seen Ivy a couple of times already, but this was the first time they were so close. They had to admit that Ivy was much prettier up close and also intimidating.

"You didn’t have to step in. Marissa is just like that," Belle humbled, but Ivy just smiled.

"How could I not step in when she’s attacking my friend?" Ivy chuckled as she smoothly took a seat beside Heaven. "You shouldn’t let her bully you like that. If we weren’t in this place, I would’ve given her a piece of my mind the moment I saw her picking on you."

Heaven looked at Ivy and sighed. "Great," she murmured. "Now I have more explaining to do." She pressed her lips into a thin line, turning her head to her colleagues.

Belle and the other two were staring at them with blank eyes. Their expressions were pale and emotionless, but the glint in their eyes revealed their surprise at Ivy’s friendly treatment toward Heaven. First, Heaven was mistaken as a mistress because her husband dropped her off in one of his limited edition luxury cars, and then she was linked to Tiger — a situation she hoped to forget — and now this.

When would this all end?
