His face turned red as he scolded everyone in one breath. Mr. Yang wouldn’t deny he was curious. After all, Heaven didn’t seem to be the type to be someone’s mistress. Even though she was sometimes a headache, she was more like a ball of sunshine in this department. Moreover, Heaven made a huge contribution to this department settling its biggest problems and now, they had free time to gossip.

This place or us has nothing to do with her personal life," he continued, calming down a bit. "If I hear any more talks about this rumor, I’ll consider it that this department can take on more workload."

"He has a point, though," a male employee murmured when Mr. Yang left the department. "There’s also a possibility that she came from a wealthy family and just didn’t want to say it."

"You guys are just saying that because Pepsi is pretty," a female employee chimed in, looking at her colleague in dismay. "If I know better, you’d be the first to criticize someone if the person involved is ugly."

"What’s that about, Axel?" Heaven turned around several steps after entering the CEO’s office. As soon as she did, she caught Axel closing the door behind him.

She crossed her arms underneath her chest, brow arched. "Care to explain yourself?"

"There’s a rumor," he said as he tugged his earlobe, marching toward the couches in the office. Heaven stood in her spot even when he walked past her, making her raise her brow even higher.

"A rumor?" she asked as she twisted her upper body to look at him. "Is this a rumor about you? Do you need some help to settle it?"

"No." Axel snapped his eyes back to her as he plopped down on the long couch. "If it’s about me, my team will do something about it. But this rumor is about you."

"Me?"

"Yes. Some were saying you are actually a wealthy old man’s mistress! I heard it a few days ago, but I didn’t think it was you!"

"What?" Her face crumpled in dismay, sauntering to the one-seater couch near Axel’s. "What did you say?"

"I said a rumor about you being a mistress has been going around in this building." Axel leaned back and sighed. "It’s becoming out of control, and complaints are coming in the human resources department."

"What the hell?" Heaven gasped as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "So, that’s why everyone is looking at me like that, huh? No wonder even some employees who I don’t know would look at me strangely and laugh, saying snide comments, which I thought was normal since I’m pretty."

Axel’s face darkened as he frowned. "Do you know them?"

"No."

"Do you remember their faces?"

"Well, not really." She shook her head and then glanced at him. "Axel, don’t ask. It’s fine."

"It’s not fine. This place is now my territory and everyone in here lived and survived by working for me! How dare they bully my sister?!"

Heaven scratched the back of her head and dropped her hand on the armrest. "I said it’s fine. I’m actually glad that’s only the reason everyone in the art department had been giving me odd looks. I thought they found out I was the one who broke Mr. Yang’s software and accidentally deleted all his files."

For a moment, Axel was rendered speechless. He opened and closed his mouth, but his voice wouldn’t come out of his throat.

"Err..." he pinched the bridge of his nose again. "So, what now? What should we do?"

"We do nothing!"

"What?"

"Why do we need to do anything when you already know that’s not true? If the human resources summons me because of the complaints made about me, I’d just say my husband is rich and their boss’s boss is my brother-in-law." She smiled. "I’m sure they’d understand."

Axel opened his mouth to argue but then sighed. "I should’ve known you don’t care much about these things."

"It’s too small for me to care." Her smile stretched. "So, what now? Won’t you even offer me some coffee?"

"I’m the CEO of this company!" Axel exclaimed, but then rose from his seat to make her coffee. Meanwhile, Heaven chuckled as she watched her little brother make her some coffee when he could’ve asked his assistant for it.

’He’s still cute,’she thought, staring at Axel’s back while her smile slightly faded. ’I thought he would change a lot when he cut ties with his parents and Grandma Zhu.’
