A light knock from the door caught Dominic’s attention. He instinctively glanced at the digital clock on the bedside table before setting his eyes on the door. The second his eyes fell on the door, it slowly opened from the outside.

There, peeking her head in was Heaven. A subtle smile instantly lit up Dominic’s face upon seeing his wife.

"Hey," he called, watching her slowly get in and close the door behind her. "How was it?"

Heaven just shrugged as she dragged her feet to the hospital bed where her husband was lying. She sat on the edge of the bed, letting out a deep exhale as she answered.

"I actually don’t know," she said while raising her brows momentarily.

"What do you mean?" he asked, cocking his head to the side. "Also, did you see the kids?"

"Mhm. I went to their room before coming here. They’re already sleeping."

"They slept early..." Dominic cleared his throat upon realizing it wasn’t really late. It was a few minutes before midnight already. "They missed you. Basti kept asking where you were."

"I bet they did just as much as I did." Heaven let out another sigh, tickling Dominic’s curiosity about what happened to her ’mission.’

"Everything alright?" he inquired once again. "Did they take it well? Or was it another Princess and Gray scenario?"

"Well, to be honest, I am just as confused, darling." She scratched her temple as she recalled what had happened during the meeting. "I also didn’t know if they accepted it or not."

"How?"

"I don’t know. We just kinda agreed we all needed some sleep because we barely had one in the past three days."

"I see." Dominic rocked his head in understanding before the corner of his lips curled up. "Then what were you all doing in the past three days? You..." he trailed off as he leaned a bit to sniff the scent he had been smelling from her.

"Were you smoking?" he asked. "I feel like a wife whose husband just came home after days of gambling and living the best of his life."

"Haha. What?" she laughed, and he shrugged. "I’m not smoking, alright? Blame those guys if I ever died of lung cancer."

Dominic let out a chuckle as he reached for her hand. "Anyway, I’m glad you’re back. Although you were unsure of the results, I’m certain things will fall into their rightful place. Princess and Gray took months — almost a year before they accepted the truth. Give them time."

Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, forcing a smile as she nodded. She squeezed his hand mildly before another sigh escaped her mouth. She wanted to tell him she couldn’t wait for months, knowing every day needed progress. Especially now that Dominic was at the second phase of his plans.

"I’m going to take a shower," she said. "I stink."

"Well, a little."

"My love, you shouldn’t be so honest with me. That hurt a bit, you know?"

Dominic chuckled as he released her hand while she stood from the edge of the bed. "You’re going to sleep with me tonight?"

"Maybe?" she looked back at him as she was on her way to the closet. "Even if I shower, there’s still the residue of smoke and I don’t want my children to inhale it."

"Alright."

With that being said, Heaven went to take the shower while Dominic stayed still on the bed. While waiting for her, Dominic closed the book he was reading to watch the news. As usual, the news was still about what happened to the Lyon Group and the Zhu family.

"Hah." The corner of his mouth hooked up into a satisfied smile as he caught some protesters on the screen. "Nice."

The next day...

Tiger slept for an entire day, only to wake up on the couch of the conference room where he had fallen asleep. When he woke up, Wolf, Heaven, and Joker were gone. Although Princess, Moose, Gray, and Bear stayed. They were still present.

"Hmm..." Tiger hummed a long tune as he poured hot coffee into his mug. When he took a sip, he twisted his upper body to see the people who were still in the room with him. "I had a very strange dream."

When he spoke, everyone in the room slowly turned their heads in his direction. Just like him, they were also enjoying a mug of coffee.

"In that dream, the Young Madam is claiming to be the big boss!" he continued with a laugh. "She’s saying when she died, she became a wandering soul and met Heaven Liu. When the latter died — strangled, she took over her body and lived as Heaven Liu since then. It’s hilarious and weird, isn’t it?"

Bear, Moose, Gray, and Princess could only look at him with conflict. They weren’t surprised this guy still got a good portion of Heaven’s story even though he nodded off. Tiger never slept soundlessly.

"We shouldn’t have waited for him to wake up," Gray mumbled, shaking his head in disbelief. "But well, it’s not really because of him why we stayed."

Bear and Princess didn’t bother commenting as they also shook their heads before enjoying their coffee. Meanwhile, Moose let out a short sigh as he turned his head to Gray, who was sitting on the other end of the couch where Moose was sitting.

"Back to our topic. Why hadn’t you guys said anything?" Moose inquired in disbelief. "Weren’t we a team?"

"How many times do I have to tell you it’s not us, but her?"

"That’s the point!" Moose exclaimed in frustration. "She’ll kill me if she finds out I was trying to break her secret vault!"

Gray deadpanned. "Do you think I care?"

"Wait," Tiger spoke as everyone ignored him, with Gray and Moose talking about something, and Princess and Bear discussing some land while looking at the map on the table. With his call, everyone looked in his direction once again.

"My dream..." he took a deliberate pause as she glossed his eyes over their faces. "Tell me. That’s just a dream, right?"

They didn’t answer, but did they need to answer when they looked at him as if he was the dumbest person in the room?

"No, hell." Tiger shook his head in disbelief. "You’re kidding?"
