Chapter 658: I needed my Reapers back.

"So, here I am, living the life of Heaven Liu. Dominic knew about it not long ago, but that’s the story." Heaven huffed after talking nonstop for thirty minutes without a second break. "Do you understand now?"

Her hopeful eyes cracked when she heard a loud snore. She turned her head, only to see Tiger nodding off in his chair.

"God..." she called the only person who could help her at this moment. "I want to kill him."

"Ah..." Moose, who had to listen to her story while fighting off his sleepiness, nodded. "What a nice story."

"You shouldn’t be an actress, but a writer." Joker mocked. "I can recommend you to a publishing company — oh wait, you’re rich. You can publish that story on your own."

"Weren’t you all listening?" Wolf frowned, blinking wearily. "Her story might sound ridiculous, but it somehow made sense."

"Thank —"

"Good job, Young Madam. I can barely point out some minor plot holes," Wolf added, making her bury her face in her palms.

"Bernard," she called while keeping her face in her palms, only to hear Bear say, "I will not knock you unconscious."

She already detailed everything and kept the sincerest expression she could pull for added effect. It was all futile. They wouldn’t believe her. It was a good thing they weren’t fighting her, though.

"Fine." Heaven dropped her hand and lifted her head. "Just what the hell should I do for you guys to believe me?"

"Give me back my title."

"No, not that."

Wolf frowned at her quick refusal, eyes still on her. "Then, do you remember anything about the year 2016?"

"I infiltrated the Central Intelligence and installed my data in your system in exchange for my people’s data." Her answer was quick and short, but it was also accurate. "Do I have to tell how you managed to build my entrance in the floor, so it looks like I disappeared from the main control room?"

Wolf opened his mouth, but his voice couldn’t come out of his throat. All he could do for a moment was stare at this woman who was claiming to be his previous boss. He glanced at Bear to confirm, only to realize Bear was too old and crazy that he might orchestrate something like this. Thus, he shifted his eyes to Princess and then to Gray. Those two were just there, listening, but it didn’t seem they were surprised.

"Princess, Gray, have you known about this?" he asked out of pure curiosity, even though by the looks of it, he didn’t need to ask. Their lack of reaction was already a giveaway.

"We were just as shocked and in denial as you all." Princess broke her silence as she nodded at Wolf. "It took us months to really accept this truth, but I can reassure you she’s telling the truth."

Princess took a deliberate pause as she moved her eyes to Heaven. "No matter how ridiculous it was, I’m just glad we didn’t really lose her. I won’t deny I still find it strange whenever I look at her face, but my heart knows she’s my big sister."

"Thank you." Heaven smiled appreciatively before she turned her head when Moose spoke.

"To be fair, I don’t want to doubt you," said Moose, nodding reassuringly. "But I still need reassurance. If you’re really her, then... what’s the passcode for her secret vault?"

"Why? So you can steal everything?"

"No?" — just the Aphrodite’s Tears.

Heaven arched a brow. She wouldn’t be surprised if Moose had been trying to open her secret vault. But that wasn’t important, and she wanted to trust Moose wouldn’t do that. What she didn’t know was that Moose had been trying to open her secret vault for years. She was right.

’Damn it!’he cursed inwardly. ’If she turns out the real Hera, then I’m doomed! My chances of getting even a small portion from her secret vault just went down to zero! Fuck me!’

"Guys, you should focus." Heaven let out another deep exhale as her tone turned solemn. "I know you’re tired, but this is important."

"Do you think we don’t know this isn’t important?" Joker returned with a tinge of mockery. "Someone is claiming to be my late fiance, and she knows information only my beloved knows. On top of that, Bernard, Princess, and Gray accepted this ridiculous story."

"I hate to say this, but I’m with him." Wolf nodded, eyes on Heaven. He sat upright, leaning his arms against the edge of the table. "I’m not saying those three are being manipulated, or they turned their back on Hera, but that woman you’re claiming to be is someone you wouldn’t aspire to be."

"Hera Cruel might’ve excelled in every aspect of being an outstanding leader of a crime organization. However, she’s more than her skills on the battlefield, more than her incredible luck in gambling, and more than the countless titles she earned in the underground," he continued sincerely. "If you keep telling people you are Hera Cruel, do you think you’ll ever sleep soundlessly in the night? I’m saying this out of the goodness of my heart. I am insulted that you’re claiming to be someone you aren’t, and that person is someone I deeply and sincerely admire. Her life... was nothing but a tragedy, but no one cares about that. All they care is to kill her and gloat that they’re the one who killed her."

"Do you understand what I’m saying, Young Madam?" Wolf cocked his head to the side. "If Bernard put you in this, just tell me. Don’t be afraid. I was once a felon, but now I’m working on the side of justice. I’ll protect you."

"Wolf..." Heaven pressed her lips and sighed. "How I wish Bear just put me into this. In that case, I can ask for help. I’m living my dream when I woke up in this body. You, of all people, know the life I’ve always wanted. If I had the choice, we wouldn’t be sitting here, trying my best to convince you that the dead is actually alive in another person’s body."

Sensing the change in her aura, Wolf slowly felt sobered up as he asked. "Then what’s pushing you?" he paused. "Let’s say I believe you. Sure. You’re Hera and the Hera I know wouldn’t be so stupid to reclaim the life she could barely stomach. What changed your mind?"

There was a moment of silence that befell as Heaven and Wolf stared at each other. Joker and Moose also went quiet, waiting for her answer as if they had a silent agreement. Her answer to this question would be the deciding point.

"Frank," she breathed out. "Frank showed up in this lifetime. Even though I was not his target, if he mustered the courage to show his face to my men, that meant the people I tried to protect even in my last breath might die. Not to mention, he now knows about me and my family. Knowing him, I cannot just wait for him to make the first move. He’ll use us the second he finds us useful."

Heaven closed her eyes for a second as she ran her fingers through her hair. "One more thing. I have a hunch that there’s a deeper reason he wants to kill Primo — Alexander Cafre," she continued, setting her eyes back to them.

"And that hunch also tells me it involves me one way or another." Heaven straightened her back as she planted her hands on the table. She slowly stood up from her seat and added through her gritted teeth, "That is why... I needed my Reapers back."
