Chapter 655: Hera’s biggest fear

Chapter 655: Hera’s biggest fear

"Lucky me!" Heaven happily collected the passbook and a little cash on the table. "I think I’m rich!"

They played different games, but luck was truly on her side. Meanwhile, Wolf, Joker, Tiger, and Moose could only watch her celebrate with blank eyes. She sucked them dry. Even the cash stash Moose kept securely in his vault was gone.

"Wait..." Wolf muttered, pointing at the paper on top of the prize she was collecting. "That — that’s my house title. Can you —"

"Nope." Her answer was a quick no, shaking her head as she securely hugged the mountains of cash, jewelry, passbook, and valuable documents. "It’s mine now. Don’t worry. I won’t kick you out of your house. I’ll rent it out to you."

"..." Wolf was rendered speechless as his jaw fell open. Now he was truly homeless. He came into this country with a purpose. How did he end up penniless before this official business trip ended?

"My money..." Moose mumbled, staring at the stack of money she was hugging. "My babies... let them go."

"No."

"This is not okay." Joker shook his head, his complexion was pale. "I’ve been doing that research paper for three years. Give it back."

"No."

"Why?" he gasped. "You don’t need it! Matter of fact, it has no value to you!"

"But it seems important to you." She blinked. "If you really want it back, then you can buy it."

"Deal! How much?"

"1 billion."

"Sold — what?!" Joker’s eyes nearly popped out of their socket at the price she had given him. "Are you insane?"

"No. I’m a businesswoman. If you really want it, then I’d sell it to you."

"This is exploitation!"

"I’m not forcing you."

"This is crazy." Tiger ruffled his hair in irritation, glaring at Heaven, and then his eyes fell on the limited watch right on top of his bank passbook. "You’re cheating. I’m sure!"

"Hey, just because you suck at gambling doesn’t mean your opponent is cheating. That’s low." Heaven shook her head as she clicked her tongue continuously. "If you’re not really sincere in gambling, you shouldn’t have bet your life savings, you know?"

"It’s not me!" Tiger harrumphed as he glared daggers at Princess. "This is your fault!"

"What?" Princess cocked her head to the side.

"You’re the one who brought everything in here!"

Princess blinked every so slowly, shifting her eyes to the rest as their eyes burned with rage. It was true Princess was the person who left, only to come back with every valuable thing these guys possessed. However...

"I did bring those things here." She nodded in agreement but still sported an innocent look. "But I didn’t tell you to bet them. So, I don’t understand why I am to blame here."

"I’m screwed." Moose buried his face in his palms. "I am so doomed. My babies... I didn’t collect and kept them just for someone to adopt them for free."

"They’re in good hands. Don’t worry. Hehe." Heaven reassured with a giggle, only for Moose to peek through his fingers.

"I hate you more now," Moose breathed out, but he was too mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted he couldn’t throw a huge fit.

"I hate you all." Joker hissed as he glared at everyone. He ground his teeth when his eyes fell on Heaven. "You’re going to regret playing tricks on me."

"I didn’t do any tricks." Heaven frowned. "Can’t you just accept that I have an adept expertise in this area? And that you guys underestimated me?"

"We really did underestimate her." Unlike the rest of them, Wolf accepted this bitter defeat with a heavy heart. "I can’t believe I fell into this trap. Had you always known she’s like this, Bernard?"

Wolf slowly shifted his eyes to Bear, his expression deadpan. Bear simply shrugged and then he inquired;

"Are you still playing?"

"Are you kidding me?" Joker scoffed in dismay. "Do you think we still have anything to bet on?"

"You’re still alive."

"Hah!" Tiger scoffed as well, understanding what Bear meant by that.

"I don’t mind." Heaven smiled like an angel. "I can bet my arm and —"

"Shut up." The four sassed in unison, casting her a look of dismal. She pressed her lips into a thin line, lowering her hand awkwardly.

"You’re becoming more and more shameless," Joker commented, to which Tiger and Moose agreed with a nod.

"She’s like a succubus, sucking people dry. Damn. This woman. I hate you." Moose clicked his tongue in irritation.

"I quit," Tiger added sternly.

"But you’re still negative." Heaven pouted. "Even if you give all your monthly paycheck to us, you’ll still have to work for us for the next two years to pay off that debt."

"Fuck!" Tiger shouted in frustration, remembering how he confidently bet his annual income, thinking that round was his. Who would have thought not only he would lose that round, but all the rounds after that?

"So, what now?" Wolf sighed heavily, not having the energy to be frustrated. He was just so tired that he simply wanted to sleep it off — and never wake up. His question, however, put them all back on track of why they were playing for the last three days in the first place.

"You win, Young Madam," he stressed, accepting this truth. "We didn’t win a single round and we’re penniless. Does that mean we won’t get to ask you a question?"

"You can ask."

"Will we even get an answer?"

"Did you win?"

"Oh, good god." Moose’s face palmed in distress, already at wit’s end. "I never wanted to kill someone as much as I want to kill her."

"Come on, Moose. Don’t be like that."

"Damn...." Tiger shook his head, eyes stuck on the shameless Heaven. "If I knew you’re this annoying, I would’ve hurt you really, really bad."

"You can’t do that because of your stupid chivalry. I’d do it!" Joker volunteered with a hand raised and then pointing a finger at her. "I’ll kill you one day."

"That won’t scare her," Bear commented unenthusiastically, shaking his head as he slightly pitied them. They were clearly in denial on top of being exhausted and lack of sleep.

"That’s right. I’m not afraid of death. I cheated it twice already." Heaven nodded in agreement. "Using my family as hostage won’t work as well. I’ll kill you the second that thought crosses your mind."

"Tell her you’d exorcise her," Princess suggested. "She’s scared of that."

Joker scrunched his nose up at Princess, but when he glanced at Heaven, he caught the quick horror in her eyes. "You got to be kidding me."
