Chapter 654: You guys suck
Chapter 654: You guys suck
Was Heaven okay?
Knowing Heaven had been with her men to set some facts straight could be a source of a person’s wild imagination. For instance, the thought that she would confront Tiger, Wolf, Moose, and Joker could lead to many scenarios.
According to Heaven, her men loved her so much. And Bear would constantly worry about them because, for him, this ’truth’ was something one wouldn’t easily accept. All of them were present during Hera’s funeral. Her death was something they didn’t accept with a snap of a finger. It took them a lot of time and they went through a lot of crazy stuff just to be sane after her death.
Therefore, considering Heaven came face to face with not just one member of the Reaper, but a few of them, no one could blame Dominic if his anxiousness started to spike. What Dominic didn’t know was that there was no deadly match whatsoever that happened in the past three days. At least, not like the deadly match Dominic thought of.
"Royal flush," Heaven smirked as she showed her cards, earning a ton load of curses from the people she had been playing with.
"Fuck you!" Tiger cursed as he slammed the bottom of his fist against the table. "How the fuck can you do this?"
Heaven giggled as she collected the money on the table. "You can say luck. Or Heaven is on my side... maybe because I’m Heaven?"
"Wait..." Moose gasped. The dark bags under his eyes were clear as day, watching Bear clean up the cards on the table while Heaven collected her winning prize. "Bear, you’re cheating, right?"
"Huh?" Bear stopped midway, snapping his eyes on Moose. "That’s a heavy accusation."
"If not, then how the hell can she keep winning!?" Unlike his noble and mature attitude, Wolf looked a little less with his loosed tie and disheveled hair. "We’ve been playing for the whole three days and she never lost a round!"
"This is ridiculous!" Joker shook his head, glaring at Bear and then at Heaven. "This isn’t fun and fair anymore. Something’s going on here!"
"If there’s anything going on here, that would be you guys suck at this." Heaven shrugged. "Don’t blame Bear. You see him change cards every round."
Her smug smile stretched as she leaned back. Before her was a mountain of cash and coins, while her opponents had none left.
"Should we go for another round?" she proposed as she clapped. "Or do you guys don’t have money anymore?"
"This is supposedly a meeting." Moose scoffed. "I didn’t sign up for gambling!"
"But well, this bill right here and your empty wallet says otherwise." Heaven picked up a bill and puckered her lips, kissing it without letting it touch her lips. "So, are we playing or not?"
"You hadn’t even answered a question!" Joker complained in frustration.
"Why? Did you win?"
"No, but —"
"Rules are rules, fellas!" She cut him off mid-sentence, grinning arrogantly at them. "One question at a time. Whoever wins the round gets to ask a question. In that case, you guys won’t be bombarding me with questions at the same time. If you win, you get to ask, but if I win, you pay me. It’s a fair game."
"How is that fair?!" Joker wept, rendered speechless as he had only realized just how sick these rules were. He wouldn’t think they weren’t fair if he won, though.
"No more." Wolf shook his head as he leaned back. "I’ve already spent all my budget allowance for this trip here. I’m broke at the moment. I don’t want to go home without a home to live."
"Aww..." Heaven frowned, only to shift her attention to Moose as the man spoke.
"Me too." Moose clicked his tongue while pushing himself away, making his chair screech on the floor. "I’m leaving. I just waste my time here."
"Three days and two nights, to be exact," Gray corrected, who was having a nice coffee on the couch.
Moose, who was already standing up, looked at Gray lifelessly. "Thanks for the reminder, Gray. It’s really helpful to know I wasted three days and two nights for nothing."
"Well, it’s not really nothing. You gave away your hard-earned money to a person in need."
Moose looked back at the speaker, and his eyes instantly landed in Heaven. She shrugged, and he shook his head, picking up his blazer placed over the backrest of the chair he had previously sat on.
"I hate you, woman," he stressed through his gritted teeth, staring at the beautiful smile on her face. "I hope you lose all your teeth."
"I’m also done!" Tiger announced as he slapped the table, pushing himself up. "Though I still have the money, I’m tired and in need of some rest. Moose, let me tag along with you. I don’t think I can drive at this rate."
"Man, do you think I’m in the right state?" Moose snapped his tongue as he strutted away, with Tiger following behind.
"I’m also done here." Joker clapped as he pushed himself away from the table. "I’m done playing, and I’m done with your nonsense. I’m also done helping you and your family. I don’t care. What you’re doing, wasting my time is unforgivable."
Just like Moose and Tiger, Joker also rose from his seat. He didn’t want to waste another second around her. After all, he was also at his limits. He barely slept in the past three days; his body would give in if he didn’t stop now.
"Aren’t you leaving?" Just as Joker took a few steps away, he cast Wolf a look.
"No. I’ll take a nap here first before leaving. I don’t want to be in a car accident and kill myself. That’ll be embarrassing after all the struggle I went through just to survive," Wolf answered as he relaxed his body on the chair, eyes shut.
Seeing that they all gave up, Heaven couldn’t help but let out a short chuckle. She glanced at Bear, and the man simply shrugged.
"How about I give you a clue?" She spoke just as Moose reached for the door. "It’ll give us all a common ground and a good reason for you guys to stay."
Moose held the knob as he looked back at her. "Not interested, Young Madam. Eat your clue."
"Same here." Tiger’s face lacked interest as well. "I’m not interested in all your bullshit."
"I’m not listening to anything you say anymore," Joker commented, strutting away as he almost reached the other two.
"Fine." Heaven raised her hands in surrender. "If you’re not interested anymore, then I won’t force you. It’s just that, I thought Hera Cruel is so important to you people."
"What did you say?" Wolf snapped his eyes open, jumping from his reclining position to face her squarely. "You? What did you just say?"
"Hehe." Heaven giggled. "I want to tell you more, but you guys already gave up. So..."
Before she could even finish her sentence, all the vacant chairs around the small table were now occupied again. She glanced around, and all of them were back in their seat.
"Great!" She clapped happily. "I guess we’re playing a few more rounds!"
As the game started, Gray, who was enjoying a cup of coffee, shook his head. "Oh, boy. I’m going to have a few homeless buddies before this day ends. She really hadn’t changed, and they never learned their lessons."
"Well." Gray shrugged as he raised the cup to his lips. "It’s entertaining to watch them crash into poverty."
As if magic, Joker, Gray, Tiger, and Wolf, were left penniless even before the day ends.
