Chapter 652: fair and fun way to settle things
"Bear, can you punch me in the face and take me to the hospital? I won’t get angry. Just make sure you’d knock me unconscious — it’ll be nice if I’d be unconscious for three days."
Bear let out a shallow breath as he assessed the helpless look on Heaven’s pale and dead face. Heaven had been tired all these months with all the planning, running errands, and then taking care of the children. Having to deal with this bunch who never ceased to argue over the stupidest things after a few chaotic days, was taxing.
"I’m sorry. You are asking the wrong person." He patted her shoulder mildly, offering her a gentle smile in hopes that would give her the slightest comfort.
It didn’t.
"Gosh..." Heaven let out another deep exhale, peeling her eyes from Bear to the people around the table with her. She shook her head; they were still arguing.
This was probably the main reason she didn’t want to sit them down and talk about things. Before diving into the more important matters, these guys would always banter. Good thing Gray wasn’t joining — Bear and Princess would usually ignore them until they finished talking.
’At this point, it’s already proven this is nothing but a ceremony.’She clicked her tongue, leaning back, folding her arms, watching them all talk. The more she did, the more their voices sounded gibberish until they all sounded like a buzzing bee.
"Damn..." she shook her head once more, a little amused by their unlimited supply of idiocracy. "When will they stop?"
Her comment obviously left on heard as they continued their nonsense argument over some old issue about spilled ketchup. Amazing. But after another minute of this deadlock scenario, everyone stopped talking when Princess stood from her seat and punched the table in the middle.
"Woah..." Heaven whistled as she glanced at the table, catching some cracks spread across the surface. "Well, I guess that settles that."
She kicked the floor mildly, letting the chair slide away to safety. In a split second, the table split in three. Everyone around the table either stood up or did what Heaven did, slide their chairs away before one of the pieces fell to their feet.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Tiger was the first to ask once the shattering sound faded, eyes full of dismay on Princess. "Your name makes you sound fragile, but god damn! You don’t need to lift weights since that tiara already trains your muscles. Anyway, what kind of tiara are you wearing again?"
"The one that can cut you in half?" Princess returned indifferently before glossing her eyes over their faces. "If you came here to find the conclusion of what brand of ketchup is the best, leave. This meeting is not for idiots."
"Heh. She meant you." Moose snickered as he pointed at Tiger.
"You mean, she meant the two of you?" Joker arched a brow, earning Tiger and Moose’s emotionless glare. "What? I’m a scientist — inventor. I’m good at a lot of things, and not just throwing fists. I can’t be an idiot."
"You arguing with people you call idiots makes you one." Wolf raised his brows as he cast Joker a knowing look. However, he didn’t dwell on those two. "I’m sorry for that, Your Highness. You are right. This meeting isn’t for that."
He drew a deep breath as he cast Heaven a look. "I’m sorry for letting these guys divert my attention. I promise you, I won’t let them affect me anymore."
"So I win? The best ketchup is —"
"Shut up, Tiger. I said I won’t let you divert my attention right now. We’ll talk about that later." Wolf glared at Tiger and then at Moose, who rolled his eyes. When his eyes fell on Joker, the latter clicked his tongue in irritation.
"Fine," said Joker grumpily. "Let’s move on."
"And move back later," Tiger commented sarcastically, which they all silently agreed with. Ridiculous.
"Thank you for that, Princess." Bear offered Princess an appreciative smile. "If you didn’t step in, I would have."
"I know, and you’re welcome." Princess shrugged and cast her attention to the rest of them. "I won’t participate in this meeting."
"Huh? Why?" Moose asked out of plain curiosity. "Don’t you have any questions?"
"I don’t." Princess shook her head. "Though I might join you later once we’re talking about something that might interest me."
"Well, that’s one less competition." Tiger shrugged, forgetting Princess, Gray, and Bear hadn’t been taking part in asking Heaven a series of mixed serious and random questions.
"I won’t either." Gray raised his hands, making everyone turn their heads in his direction. When Princess punched the poor table, he already moved away and sat on the corner couch. "I don’t have questions as well. But once we talk about Dragon, then I’ll join you guys. I still have some work to do anyway, so have fun."
"So, Princess and Gray are out of the meeting?" Wolf looked around, scanning the faces who were still interested in interviewing Heaven until his eyes landed on Bear. "How about you?"
"I don’t have questions, but I believe I need to be around," said Bear, casting Heaven a look.
Heaven smiled subtly at him before she drew a deep breath and faced everyone. She clapped once, pleased that they finally got back on track.
"Since I’m already aware none of you will give way to each other, good thing I predicted this. So, I thought of a fair and fun way to settle things more efficiently and effectively," she announced, and her subtle smile stretched from ear to ear. "Bear, take them out."
Moose, Tiger, Wolf, and Joker slowly raise their brows. Their eyes veered to Bear as the man walked away, picking up the briefcase not facing away from the desk of the meeting room. Deep lines appeared between everyone’s brows as they darted their eyes from Bear and the briefcase in his hand. When the man opened it, they immediately guessed what she meant by that.
"So?" Heaven’s grin widened as her face grew brighter. "What do you
