Chapter 650: Can you buy me a ranch?

Chapter 650: Can you buy me a ranch?

"Because he showed up, and that means I can’t keep being Heaven Liu. I don’t know what he wants from Primo, but once that man wakes up, I get the feeling I might actually realize that these invisible chains around my ankle aren’t just a figment of imagination. I... don’t want Basti and Miracle to have the same childhood as I had, which led me to the life I walked."

Dominic cupped Heaven’s face, offering her a warm smile. "I’m not saying this just because I want to make you feel better, but I’ve always known there’s a reason you got into that body." He nodded reassuringly.

"The world might disagree, but without you, Basti and I... and the entire Zhu family, would’ve fallen that night of the anniversary. Or maybe, much earlier." His eyes softened as he slowly pulled her into his embrace. "Heaven Liu or Hera Cruel, it doesn’t matter. My soul is tied to yours."

Heaven smiled subtly as she rested her head on his shoulder, raising her hand to clutch his clothes. "Darling, can you do me a favor?"

"Hmm?"

"Can you buy me a ranch?"

Dominic furrowed his brows as he slowly released her to look at her face. "You want a ranch?"

"Mhm. Can you —"

"Sure."

"You won’t ask me for a reason?"

"Do you like a white horse, too?"

"Uh..."

"I don’t think there’s a pink horse, but it’ll be nice to ride them in our leisure time. Basti can ride too once he fully recovered."

"Dom." Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, sighing helplessly. "You do understand that you’re poor at the moment, right?"

"I am?"

She nodded. "I stole a lot from your company."

"It’s okay. I got lots of savings. But why did you steal from the company?"

"Is that really the attitude you should give to someone who laundered money from you?"

"I would’ve given you everything if you asked." Dominic paused as he pondered about it for a second. "Right. You shouldn’t have done that. Once the finance audits, you will be in big trouble. Not good. We need lawyers."

Heaven opened her mouth, but her voice rolled back to her throat. All she could do for a moment was stare at her man and shake her head.

"I feel sorry for you," she muttered while still shaking her head.

"Why?" Dominic cocked his head to the side, brows raised. "I’m confused."

"Nothing." A short laugh escaped her mouth, and she leaned forward to kiss him on the lips quickly. "I just find you cute sometimes."

"I take that compliment any day."

"Anyway, I know you’re probably not interested, but you don’t have to worry. Even with investigations, it’ll all point to Silas. In that case, all his properties will be ours legally."

"I don’t need his accumulated wealth, which he gained through laundered money."

"But I do."

"I guess it’s not that bad then."

"Darling, focus!" Heaven held Dominic’s shoulder and shook him mildly. "Once you’re not in comatose anymore, many things will happen. We talked about it before, so..."

"Haha. I know. I’m just messing with you." Dominic chuckled. "I’ve never forgotten about our plans, and I also know you’ve been stealing my money. But it’s okay. I understand."

"What?"

He pinched her cheek mildly as he said, "You and Gray weren’t really careful about it. I might not be as good as you on the battlefield, but I think it’s safe to say I’m better than you in this area."

"You don’t have to explain to me," he added reassuringly. "At this point, I’m a lost cause. Everything you say always makes sense to me. Even if you say one plus one is nine, I will believe it."

"I’m happy, but darling, the moral side of me tells me you shouldn’t be so proud of it."

"I am sorry, but I can’t help it." His smile stretched from ear to ear until his teeth were on full display. "That only means I beat you again. I love you more."

"Oh, god. Take off my bra."

"But." Dominic chuckled as he raised a finger. "You might not need to explain things to me, but you need to do a lot of explanation to them."

Her excited smile slowly faded at the mention of ’them.’

"Save your energy for later, my love." He leaned in, planting a kiss on her forehead. "It’ll be a long day for you. Don’t worry. We’ll make baby number three once you finish with your business."

When Dominic drew his head back, Heaven assessed the playful smile on his face.

"You’re enjoying this, are you?" she asked, squinting her eyes suspiciously.

"I’m not."

"Your eyes tell me otherwise." She rolled her eyes while he laughed. "Gosh. I didn’t want to think about them until tomorrow, but I’m nervous."

"Fair enough. Gray and Princess took months before they softened."

Heaven cast him a lazy look. "That’s not what I’m worried about."

"Hmm?" he tilted his head to the side, curiosity twinkling in his eyes. However, Heaven only let out a deep exhale and shook her head.

"I better go," she announced as she flung her legs out of the bed.

"Where are you going? Visiting Basti and Miracle?"

"Yes, Dom." She cocked her head back to him, already tired even before she could deal with those guys. "I might not be able to see them for the next three days. So, I want to shower them with kisses that are good for three days."

"Oh. It’ll take that long, huh?"

"It could take longer, but three days is my limit. More than that, I’ll just kill all of them. Anyway, don’t miss me too much." Heaven pushed herself away from the bed and dragged her feet away.

"Good luck, darling. If you don’t see me here, I’ll be with Axel or the kids."

"Right, right. Be happy. Love you." She waved dismissively, looking back at him when she was at the door. "Can you please stop me?"

Dominic, who was leaning comfortably on the headboard, smiled. "Fighting." He raised his fist and cheered her on, filling her heart with dismay.

Later that night...

Heaven glossed her eyes over the faces around the long conference table with dead eyes. Everyone was present — even Wolf and Joker were there. They were all looking at her, waiting for her to say anything.

"What?" she asked after a prolonged silence. "I know you have a lot of questions, so feel free to ask —"

Before she could even finish her sentence, she was flooded with a series of questions she wasn’t mentally prepared for. Oh, how she wished she could revert the time and take back their freedom to ask.
