Chapter 644: Making life harder for me

"Boss!" Bear huffed, taking a step forward on instinct. He flinched a little when he got wind of the noises inside the chopper. The commotion inside ended just as quickly as when they echoed. His irises continued to go wide, unknowingly holding his breath.

Bear and everyone could still see Dragon, but the man had his turn on the other side. What was going on now? For many, that question was what filled their heads. But for Bear, all he had in mind was whether he should prepare himself for something big because Heaven — Hera, wouldn’t die even if she fought in such a small space. Still, he was worried because she was up against the man who left the biggest scar on Hera’s heart.

"Bernard!" After several seconds, Tiger’s loud voice echoed in the night breeze. "Call everyone!"

Bear instinctively turned to Tiger, only to see the urgency glinting in his eyes. He placed his hand inside his suit pocket, only to realize he was no longer a reaper and the device he usually carried for emergency situation was kept locked somewhere in a public storage.

Seeing that Bear froze, Tiger felt like someone just splashed him with a bucket of cold water.

"Fuck!" he cursed through his gritted teeth, slipping his hand inside his suit to check if his intercoms were still working. When he felt his earpiece in his suit pocket, he immediately placed it in his ear. But while he was doing so, he turned his attention back to the chopper.

It was ascending.

BANG BANG BANG!

Tiger held his breath as he saw two men fall from the open door. He couldn’t even heave a sigh of relief despite seeing that those who fell weren’t Heaven. They weren’t Dragon either, after all.

"Hey," he breathed out, eyes stuck on the ascending chopper. "If anyone is there, rooftop. That motherfucking Dragon showed up. Of all the fucking times, he showed up just because... she’s dead. Did you guys hear me? It’s Dragon."

Tiger ground his teeth as he slowly reached his boiling point the longer the silence was. When his anger reached the top of his head and was about to throw the ’useless’ earpiece, he heard a voice.

"Message sent." Tiger’s brows rose upon hearing Joker’s cold tone. "On my fucking way. Don’t let him get away."

"Haha!" Another voice — Moose — pierced through their earpiece. "Well, that’s worth going back to."

After Moose’s remarks, Joker and Tiger heard a screeching noise, along with some other people’s panicking voices who were with Moose. It was as though Moose was already driving away from the venue, only to make a violent turn upon hearing Dragon joined tonight’s party.

Not much to Tiger’s surprise, Gray and Princess seemed to be connected in the same line, even though they were far away from the venue.

"Joker, send me anything that can help me locate which route he took to enter the country." Gray’s solemn voice was heard, snapping his sharp eyes on the windshield while Princess was driving. "He can’t leave this country. Not now... when he finally showed up."

Princess’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, speeding through the highway at the maximum speed. Her eyes grew sharper, taking over other cars, and ignoring the loud honks she gained with her action. Thankfully, Joker already contacted them earlier, before Tiger — or anyone on that rooftop — could think of calling for backup.

"Frank..." she breathed out while her quiet voice shook with mixed emotions. "... how dare he show his face after what he had done to her?"

[Meanwhile, in the event hall.]

Wolf panted for air as he winced. He wasn’t injured, but rather, a little tired, as he was already quite old. And for his age, taking part in such a lively party was something he shouldn’t participate in. Thus, he was exhausted to the bones... or not.

"Holy hell," he remarked, followed by a series of short laughter. He just picked up the earpiece delivered to him by Joker’s little spider; an action that reminded him of the good old days. What was even more interesting was that an interesting name was mentioned.

"Hey," he called quietly, peeking out of the pillar to see that only a few were standing. The event hall was already cleared and all their enemies were down. The one who was standing was Dominic’s people. "If I get Dragon, I’ll be the one taking his head. He’ll reassure my win in my upcoming campaign."

"Nope," Moose answered immediately as he pulled over the side of the venue. He lowered his head to peek up, catching thick smoke and fire ascending to the cloudy sky, and then another chopper near it. "I’ll get there first and when I do, he’s mine. His head is worth a fortune, and I can sell his other organs at high prices. Every piece and pore of that man is worth a lot of money."

"I hope he gets away," this time, Princess snickered. "He’s mine. We have a lot to settle scores — more personal family matters."

Gray cocked his head back, eyes falling on the driver’s seat. "It’s a race then?"

"As much as I hate it, but this brings back some things of the past. Strange! It doesn’t feel as unpleasant as I thought it should be!" This time, Tiger mused. "But Wolf, wherever your men’s were, don’t shoot. Someone is inside the chopper with him. That also applies to the clown and his little spiders."

"Who? Mr. Zhu?" asked Wolf curiously.

"No." Tiger snapped his eyes up, staring at the slowly ascending chopper. "The Young Madam."

Deep lines appeared between Wolf’s brows as he asked. "What is she doing there?"

"Believe me when I say I also don’t know. Or rather, I haven’t processed what just I saw. All I know is that she makes life harder for me." Tiger breathed out, running his tongue across his inner cheek. "I still don’t know how Bear and I can take her out there in one piece."

"She’ll get out of there," Princess reassured, stepping on the pedal harder as if that would increase her speed. "But don’t do anything until she’s out. We can’t let her die."

"And why is that?" Wolf cocked his head to the side while getting up to his feet. "Because the Young Madam is Dominic Zhu’s wife?"

"No." This time, it was Gray who answered in a solemn tone. "Don’t shoot because we all can’t afford to lose her." — for the second time.
