Chapter 1134: Loser

"Mr. Zhu, Attorney Cafre. The paperwork is done."

"Oh?" Moose cast Primo a knowing look. "See what I’m talking about? It didn’t take an hour. Just forty-five minutes."

Moose slowly took out a checkbook from his suit and placed a cheque on top of the paperwork. With a smile, he told the manager, "Cash this cheque in my account, please."

"Of course!" the bank manager’s eyes lit up the moment he saw the amount written on the cheque. Despite counting and working in this industry, it still astounded him how one person could have so much money. Not only that, but this client was probably the wealthiest client he ever handled.

"I’ll cash it in right away, Mr. Zhu," the bank manager grinned as he held the cheque. "This will be quick."

"How quick?" Primo inquired.

"Just a minute or two," said the bank manager with certainty. "I’ll be back right away."

With that being said, the bank manager went on to cash in the cheque to put it in Moose’s account. As he left, Moose smirked at Primo and the latter rolled his eyes.

"Come on, dude. Why are you so grumpy?" Moose slapped the man’s chest with the back of his hand. "Our problem of starvation will be solved in two minutes. About Hera, stop arguing with her. She challenged you not because she wants to win, but because she wants to get into your head."

He tapped his temple, talking to him knowingly. "The moment you let her in, she wins."

"That woman and her games..." Primo pinched the bridge of his nose, recalling how this all started as a petty comment from her. "How did you guys even last this long?"

"Because even though she makes us mad to the point we would rip our heads apart, she makes us better." He shrugged, at the same time, smiled at the door when the bank manager returned. This time, he had a few staffs with him, carrying briefcases.

Primo also glanced at the bank manager and, after seeing the big smile on his face, he heaved a sigh of relief. The money went through. And those in the briefcases were their answer to their problems.

"Mr. Zhu," called the bank manager as he sat down again. "We’ve cashed in all the money in your account, and I also made the withdrawals, just as you requested."

The staff placed the briefcases on the table, opening them to show the two the money. Moose smiled in satisfaction while Primo kept his expression in check.

"Very nice," said Moose as he didn’t look at the money that long, even if he wanted to admire them more. He slowly extended his hand over the table, which the bank manager clasped almost immediately. "It’s a pleasure working with you. I’m glad I chose the right place to entrust my money."

The manager grinned from ear to ear. "It’s my pleasure, Mr. Zhu. If you need anything, here is my calling card. I would answer it even if it’s in the middle of the night."

"Haha. I respect people’s private time, but I would keep that in mind." Moose cast Primo a look, and the latter casually closed the briefcases. "Would you mind if I call my bodyguards at the back door?"

"Of course not! With that amount of money, we need to make sure it leaves the bank safe and sound."

But even before the bank manager could answer, Primo already called for their colleagues to meet them at the exit. When he got a proper answer from them, Primo’s worries that the authorities were already waiting for them outside disappeared slightly.

"Take care on your way, Mr. Zhu." The bank manager’s smile didn’t leave his face, standing outside Moose’s car.

Moose offered one last smile before rolling up the window. As soon as he did, their car and a few more made their way out of the private parking space.

"See?" Moose laughed as he opened one of the briefcases on his lap. "Money!"

Primo sighed and glanced at the road ahead, thinking there could still be police around. Noticing his cautiousness, Moose scrunched up his nose.

"They’re not coming, duh?" Moose clicked his tongue. "Why did you think everyone is busy wreaking havoc as we speak?"

"Better safe than sorry," Primo replied, sighing in relief when they had been on the road for ten minutes and didn’t hear the sound of the siren. This time, he faced Moose, who was sniffing the handful of bills in his hand.

"Call her. Tell her we got the money," said Primo, but then he shook his head. "Nevermind. I’ll do it."

"She won’t feel bad if you let her know you’re working during your day off."

"Like you said, I’m not letting her in my head." Primo briefly raised his brows as he took out his phone, dialing Joker’s number, which he knew would connect to Hera. As soon as the line connected, he said, "Thank you for ruining my day off and we got the money."

"Oh?" Hera chuckled. "Good job, Primo!"

"I don’t need your praise."

She laughed. "Fine, fine. Did you empty my husband’s bank?"

"No. Like you said."

"Okay." She smiled. "Then, now, I have more reasons to flirt with him~!"

"For fuck’s sake..." he grumbled in dismay, already imagining the hearts and pink dust sparkling around her at the thought. If only he didn’t know there were more reasons for why they couldn’t get all her money, he would’ve been debating with her.

"Anyway, watch Moose, and don’t let him steal even one bill from it," she said. "Call me when you need anything."

"Fine —"

"Wait."

Primo furrowed his brows as he turned to Moose, only to see the latter staring at his phone. "What now?"

"Let me talk to her," Moose said, opening his palm to him, eyes on his phone. "I need to ask her a question."

At the same time...

Dominic glanced to his left, where Ivy sat in the backseat. She had been quiet ever since he finished his meeting, not telling him anything about her ’operation.’But instead of consoling her or jumping to a conclusion, he broke the ice with ignorance.

"How’s everything going?" he asked, eyes on her. "Good news or bad news?"

Ivy slowly lifted her head to him and said quietly, "I failed..."

"I see." Dominic rocked his head in understanding. "It’s your first day, so you don’t have to beat yourself —"

"... from not being great!" Her lips slowly stretched into a triumphant grin, making him furrow his brows. "I did it, Dom! Just right on time!"

"Oh?"

"I thought I wouldn’t make it, but then, I remember one of my suitors..." Ivy excitedly shared how she managed to make the transfer as if what she was telling him wasn’t some sort of crime. "... and that’s what happened!"

Dominic blinked and rocked his head. "Wow."

"See?" She smirked with pride. "I’m perfect for the job."

"You are." He nodded. "And now, there’s two heads in their scope."

"Tiger is a softie," she giggled. "He might look big and scary — like a callous bear. But he’s actually like a stuffed, fluffy bear inside. He won’t pull the trigger on me."

Dominic just shrugged, letting her bask in the glory of her first task, which she aced so perfectly.

"Uhm... Hera?" Moose cleared his throat, squinting his eyes at his phone. "What does it mean when you withdraw some money, and then you get notified by another person’s account about a withdrawal that has the same amount?"

Primo arched a brow as he watched Moose study his phone while talking to Hera with the other phone. "What do you mean by that?"

"Well, just now, I got a notification from Tiger’s account that he made some withdrawals." Moose put down his phone and focused on the phone call. "It’s the same amount as the one we transferred to Dominic’s fake account."

Hera, who was listening to the other end of the call, smirked. "Why do you receive notification from Tiger’s bank account?"

"So I know if he is spending it, so I can lure him to a scam?"

"Haha. Don’t tell Tiger we just robbed him 10 billion," she remarked. "And you better get back to work. Dominic beat you at it again. Loser."

Moose hissed as he gripped the phone, on the verge of throwing it away in irritation.

"What was that about?" asked Primo. "Did we fail?"

"This woman... whose side does she think she is?!" Moose tossed Primo’s phone back to him. "How can she call me a loser when I’m on her side, not him?"

"Seeing you angry makes me feel a lot better." Primo smiled, finding solace in Moose’s humiliation. "And honestly, I don’t mind losing this time."

Moose snapped his tongue as he seethed, "fuck!"
