Chapter 1129: Dominica

"I’m gonna go just as you want. I hope you don’t regret turning down my invitation for a cup of coffee."

With that being said, Dominica turned around and left. Meanwhile, Officer Park just stared at her back but didn’t think too much about what she said. She might be pretty, but accepting her advances was just wrong. He shook his head afterward, setting his eyes back on the screaming Hera Cruel.

Just then, the captain and some group called him from the other side. Seeing the uniform of the group, he tipped his head.

"She’s in there," said Officer Park, making the group approach the cell with the captain. "We cuffed her since she was starting to become violent."

The group took a step forward and let Officer Park unlock the cell. However, after one clear look at the woman, who was looking at the men in swat uniform in horror, they backed away.

"Take her away from here," the captain said as soon as Officer Park opened the cell. "She’s not in our jurisdiction and clearly, we can’t keep her in the station."

"That’s not Hera Cruel," said one of the men in uniform.

"What?" Both Officer Park and the captain furrowed their brows. "What do you mean, that’s not Hera Cruel? We confirmed it and she’s driving a tank."

The swat member looked at his colleagues and then back to them. The other members immediately dispersed for a reason.

"We sent you a memo and a picture of her," he said. "In recent years, many people claiming to be Hera Cruel have always caused us trouble. Mostly, they were small-time dealers or mobs, trying to exploit her absence and make something for themselves."

Officer Park and the Captain looked at each other, confused.

"Memo? But I didn’t get the notice," said the captain. "What we got was confirmation."

The swat member glanced over his shoulder when another of his team approached. "The captain is telling the truth; they did receive a memo from the Interpol High Office. Hera Cruel was here. And that impostor is part of the Mantis Gang, who had been claiming to be the Reapers."

"The Mantis Gang?" Officer Park breathed out, glaring daggers at the woman who had been claiming to be Hera Cruel.

The first one nodded and faced the Captain and Officer Park. He slipped his hand into the secret pocket in his chest and showed Officer Park and the Captain a photo.

"This woman. Was she here?" he asked, watching the Captain and Officer Park partially squint their eyes at the photo.

"Dominica?" Officer Park blurted out, lifting his eyes to the other man. "Yes. She was here for jaywalking and obstruction with the officer."

"Uh... that woman was indeed here," the captain muttered in confusion. "That Hera, I mean, the impostor, beat her up pretty bad, so we released... her."

The captain couldn’t finish his sentence as realization struck him before he could finish. His eyes went wide and looked at Officer Park with shock. At the same time, the woman who was claiming to be Hera Cruel screamed her lungs out.

"I am Hera Cruel!!! I am Hera Cruel!"

The captain, Officer Park, and then the team leader of the swat turned their heads on the impostor. Their faces turned grim, especially the one from the swat.

"Where is she?" asked the swat member, this time his tone was low and solemn. "Hera Cruel. Where is she?"

"She was..." Officer Park looked back in the direction where "Dominica" left. "... she just walked out not long after you came in."

The swat member didn’t waste a second, speaking through the intercoms to notify everyone about Hera’s whereabouts.

"Hera Cruel escaped. Lock down all exits within a 100-mile radius. Clear all areas. She hasn’t gone far. I repeated..." he ordered, sprinting toward where Officer Park pointed.

The swat didn’t waste a breath and looked for their target, who apparently got out of the premises under a false name. The Captain, on the other hand, panicked.

"Officer Park, go back to your post," said the Captain, rushing to their office, only to see more members of the Interpol securing the office while searching for evidence or fingerprints. The other officers were also escorted to another area for interrogation and interview.

Meanwhile, Officer Park stood motionless in his spot. He slowly gazed at the impostor — whom they put up with for hours — with horror. The woman was still screaming her name, claiming to be Hera Cruel.

[That woman kept screaming her name as if it was something to be proud of. Which makes me wonder, is there anyone else in the world who is just as proud as her in carrying such a name?]

’No way,’ he thought, swallowing down the tension in his throat. He slowly clasped his hand, only to realize the packet of wipes which was still in his hand.

Slowly, Officer Park gazed down at the wet wipes she returned to him. Deep lines appeared between his brows as he felt a thin paper underneath it. Flipping the packet around, he held his breath at the little note underneath it.

[You would’ve jumped a few ranks up if you flipped this packet minutes ago, Officer. How do you like my campaign for human rights?]

Officer Park’s entire body froze as his fingertips felt cold as ice. His breathing slowed down and grew heavy at the mockery Dominica, or rather, the real Hera Cruel thrown at them. He peeled off the note and was about to go when he noticed a small note on the back. The handwriting was small, forcing him to move it closer to his face.

[If you see this, you’re still lucky. Guess you now have a reason to be proud of your name, Officer. Check inside the packet. It’s a little gift for agreeing that I am pretty and fine.]

Officer Park looked around, a little disconcerted. As far as he could remember, he never agreed to anything to her. At least, he didn’t say anything aloud. He then peeled the sticker off of the packet, and surely, on top of the wet wipes, was a small USB with another note on top of it.

[Additional Note: Tell my impostor she needs more practice. Hera Cruel isn’t as pathetic.]
