Chapter 1119: A star that ends with a spectacular explosion

Leo looked around Heaven’s unit with slight awkwardness in his heart. It was neither small nor big nor luxurious nor poor. It was pretty balanced, simple, and cozy, with little expensive branded appliances and furniture.

He slowly approached the big framed photo on the wall. It was Heaven, taken the night of the awards years ago. He knew this one because among the people who were clapping for her success was Leo. His eyes softened as he remembered that night.

"Brings back memories, huh?"

Leo turned his head to his side, catching Heaven standing beside him. She stared at the big frame on the wall, smiling.

"You shone the brightest that night," he said, setting his eyes back on the picture. "Like a true star."

Heaven smiled, lips pressed tightly. "You know what I was thinking in that photo?"

"That you’d be rich?"

"Haha. That’s one," she laughed. "But I thought that after this night, I’d have tons and tons of projects that everyone would be fed up with seeing my face everywhere they look. And that my dad could brag about it to everyone he would talk to."

"Who would have thought that when a star shines so bright, it end up exploding so spectacularly?" she continued. "If only I knew that, I would have aimed to be like a moon. It doesn’t shine just as much, but still so beautifully. Best of all, it stays there forever."

Leo slowly set his eyes on her side profile, smiling subtly. "Didn’t you say you’re cooking?"

"Mhm. I’m still boiling it." She then faced him. "My turn to ask. Have you seen yourself in the mirror?"

"Uh." Leo scratched the back of his head, only to see her jerk her chin in a direction. He instinctively turned his head to where she pointed, approaching the full-body mirror in the corner. Much to his dismay, the person who came into the mirror looked like a wasted good-for-nothing neet.

His lower face had an untrimmed beard, the bags under his eyes were dark, and his clothes were all crumpled. It didn’t suit well with his current physique, as he had lost quite a weight since getting rescued from Dragon’s clutches.

"This is embarrassing," he muttered as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "No wonder no one stopped me for an autograph or a picture, even though I’ve been practically all over the place."

"You don’t know that," Heaven chuckled, walking to her bedroom. When she came out, she tossed a folded towel in his direction. "I won’t mind if you shower here, but I would if I have to smell you while having my meal."

Leo caught the towel on instinct, furrowing his brows in confusion. "I don’t have clothes."

"You do." Heaven smiled. "Coincidentally, while I was cleaning, I found an old bag lying around in my closet. When I checked, I remembered it was yours. Then I remembered there was that time you forgot your bag when you left the set. So I took it home, but I never got the chance to give it back. You and I were too busy and our schedule didn’t meet. Even if they did, we always forget about them."

Or maybe he just purposely forgot about them, so he had more reasons to contact her. But Leo wouldn’t say that because that would sound wrong.

"I feel like this is wrong, to be showering in a married woman’s house," he awkwardly remarked.

"Dominic sent you here, knowing full well what could happen between a man and a woman if there were only two of them," Heaven joked, chuckling as his face turned red. "He won’t mind if you shower here. If he does, he won’t even send you here. He’ll bury you. Also, when’s the last time you showered?"

"Don’t ask. I don’t count." Leo waved dismissively. "I get it. I smell bad and I don’t look my best. Where’s the shower?"

"It’s right in the bedroom." Heaven pointed at the open door. "The bag is just right beside the closet."

"Okay." Leo rocked his head, watching Heaven head toward the kitchen. He held the towel in his arm, staring at her back. Before any ridiculous thoughts that could go through his mind, he shook his head and marched toward the bedroom.

Just as she said, a familiar old bag of his was lying around near the built-in closet. He picked it up and checked what was inside, seeing just a pair of white shirts and some casual shorts. Something he would usually wear in the set before getting dressed.

’I didn’t know she kept them,’ he thought and then raised his brows as he looked around the bedroom. ’Is she moving out?’

Now that he thought about it, there were also small boxes outside the bedroom. It didn’t look like she just moved in, but as if she was decluttering.

’Is she going to sell this place?’ he wondered, only to shake his head. ’Not my business.’

With that thought in mind, Leo went inside the shower, which he hadn’t done for days. Considering he even threw up earlier today, he couldn’t blame Heaven for suggesting that he shower. As Leo was in the shower, he noticed that everything in the bathroom was for women. There was nothing for men.

’That’s strange,’ he thought. ’Did she and Dominic fight? There aren’t any traces of him in here.’

Again, Leo didn’t dwell on it.

Leo had long accepted that Heaven and Dominic were madly in love with each other. Those two also trusted each other to the point Dominic wouldn’t mind if another man was using her bathroom. It wasn’t like he had any malicious or silly thoughts about it. He believed he and Heaven were good friends, and Dominic was fine with that friendship. Dominic wasn’t that petty.

Oh... many would laugh at that.

Surely, if anyone who knew Dominic heard Leo’s thoughts, they would happily debunk that thought. Dominic was a petty person, especially when it came to his wife. There was no way in hell would he be okay with another man showering in his wife’s house, except the Reapers.

After all, the Reapers were probably the smartest men he knew. They wouldn’t like Hera because it was stupid.
