Chapter 1115: Do you still think she’s innocent?
As soon as Dominic went to the parking space, his eyes veered to the corner where some of his men were blocking Leo. The bodyguard behind Dominic whistled, raising his hand, and then signaling the men to let Leo in.
Leo huffed as he tugged the hem of his shirt, snapping his eyes in Dominic’s direction. The latter, on the other hand, simply drew a breath while staring back at Leo.

Since there weren’t any places in the parking space for the two men to talk, Dominic and Leo sat down in the back seat of Dominic’s car. Silence enveloped both of them, tension rising every passing second.
"I’ve been thinking about some things lately," Leo whispered as he gazed down. "Why... did you help me, Mr. Zhu? I mean, Minister Zhu."
After a long moment of silence, Leo finally broke the silence in a heavy tone. He closed his eyes and breathed out, turning his head to Dominic once he mustered the courage to bring up his intentions.
"I heard that you’ve been deeply involved in the investigation when I was abducted," he said. "Although I know you’re the one who helped me, I just couldn’t understand. Why did you risk your life? Your career? And everything to help me?"
Dominic didn’t answer nor did he look at the man. Instead, he maintained his stoic front as if he had heard nothing.
"Sir," Leo called under his breath. "At first, I thought it was simply because you think saving me will be great for your campaign. But, the more I think about it, the more it doesn’t make sense to me. Did you do it because you know the person who abducted me? Or were you associated with them?"
"One thing I learned in politics while doing business is to keep your mouth shut," Dominic replied, shifting his gaze to the window beside him. "Because the more you open it, the more mistakes you’re making. And the worst part in that is, you don’t even know about it until it’s too late."
"I’m not here to learn politics —"
"What you said just now earned you a few mistakes, but the most deadly of all is telling me you’re suspecting me of having connections with bad people." Dominic kept his eyes outside, tapping his fingertips on the placement beside him. "If you had suspicions, don’t open your mouth. Let alone announce it because if what you said is true, it’s like earning a ticket to the same hell you fell in."
Leo shut his mouth, staring at Dominic with indignation. "Is this how you’re going to resolve this? By keeping me quiet?"
"I’m not resolving anything that involves you." This time, Dominic slid his eyes to the corner. "You were rescued and, thankfully, in one piece. Be grateful for this chance, Mr. Wu. The people who abducted you could’ve mutilated your body and that pretty face. Yet, they didn’t. You’re lucky. Don’t waste it because you might not get lucky next time."
"Do you know the reason why they didn’t do that?" Leo scoffed in mockery. "Because someone in there who has the same situation as mine will be upset."
Dominic slowly turned his head to look at him straight. "Drop it, Mr. Wu. You’ve asked me this several times. Drop it."
"But — your people saved me," Leo stressed while the corner of his eyes turned red. "And you left an innocent person in there, Minister Zhu. Do you know Hera? I’m sure you probably heard of her while investigating. She’s also taken hostage and needs help!"
Leo adjusted his position until his body was facing Dominic. "Please. Save her, Minister Zhu. They’re treating her like a guinea pig, frying her brain and things like that. If you don’t save her, she will die!"
Dominic studied the look of distress dominating Leo in silence. The man was still just as handsome as he used to be, but the bags under his eyes and his disheveled hair displayed the effects of his traumatizing experience. Yet, instead of locking himself in his room or spending time in therapy, he was here, begging him to save another person’s life.
"You... fell in love with her?" Dominic inquired as this was a detail Heaven purposely didn’t tell him. "You fell in love with this woman you’re talking about?"
Leo’s breath hitched as his eyes slightly went wide. His mind screamed to deny it, but his mouth already moved as it said, "Yes."
Dominic assessed the man again, sighing heavily. No wonder Heaven didn’t mention this detail. This guy truly loved Heaven — no matter who or where she was. His mind just hadn’t caught up yet, but his heart already did. Dominic couldn’t help but think that if that night hadn’t happened between him and Heaven, she would’ve been happily married to him. Perhaps they already had children on their own.
Dominic let out a deep exhale, leaning forward to the seat in front of him. He slipped his hand inside the pocket, taking out a tablet from it. Leo watched Dominic with furrowed brows until the latter handed the device to him.
"Before you take it, I have to warn you, Mr. Wu," Dominic’s tone dropped as a glint flickered across his eyes. "This is confidential information. It’s an information that can get you killed just by knowing."
Leo held his breath, eyes shaking as he held those pair of deep dark eyes. He gulped as he hesitated for a moment, but the mere thought that this would answer all the questions in his mind triumphed over any rationality. Hence, he took the tablet and read whatever was on it.
But alas, the only thing that was there was Hera Cruel’s profile. He squinted his eyes a bit. The woman’s eyes in the photo carried nothing but coldness and emptiness, unlike what he remembered them. But this was no doubt Hera Cruel.
Leo swallowed the tension in his throat, gazing down, and then scrolled down. Deep lines appeared between his brows as he realized this long list underneath the very few descriptions and blank spaces in her profile was the list of why the authorities were after her.
"Do you still think she’s innocent, Mr. Wu?" Dominic hummed. "A woman who committed all crimes you can think of that could break a world record is innocent?"
