Chapter 1010: I trust Dominic

"We’ll leave in an hour."

One hour later...

Hunter, Primo, and Deborah found themselves in a sedan with Hera. For some reason, Hera kept dragging them everywhere she went. She could’ve ridden with some of her loyal men, but she chose to stay with them. Which made the three wonder whether this should be a good thing or bad.

Who knew? She might get irritated and use them as a target for practice shooting!

But for now, Hera hadn’t done anything, as she had been busy.

Deborah in the front passenger seat slowly glanced over her shoulder to sneak a look at the occupied Hera. Hunter, who was in the driver’s seat, couldn’t help but look in the rearview mirror every once in a while. Primo, on the other hand, blatantly observed Hera as he was perched beside her.

If there was anyone close to danger, that would be Primo. Hera could just grab him at any time and beat his brains out. It was the reason Primo was hesitant when Hera said he stayed in the backseat with her, making Deborah sit in the front passenger seat.

"Is there... anything that I can help?" Primo blurted out awkwardly, eyes fixed on Hera. "Considering you just woke up, I’m afraid you’re more prone to motion sickness."

Hera snapped her eyes to him, her expression deadpan.

"Well, I guess it’s not like that." He cleared his throat. "How can I forget? You massacred people less than an hour after you woke up."

"Even if you want to help me, I don’t think you can," she spoke quietly, setting her attention back to the laptop on her lap. "If Joker wasn’t beaten to the brink of death, this would’ve been his job."

"But there must be something we can do, right?"

"Shut up, that’s what you should do," she said, picking up the tablet at her side. "On a second thought, here."

Hera tossed the tablet to Primo, which he caught with both his hands on instinct. "Find out what time Dominic’s inauguration was."

"Uh... okay?" Primo shrugged as he held the phone. He looked through the tablet that almost seemed a little empty for an eight-year-old kid to find amusing. There was only one app in it.

Primo tapped the app, redirecting him to a search engine. Without thinking twice, he searched for a certain country’s election and inauguration. Everything was already digital in today’s time. There should be a word or a live broadcast about the inauguration. It might not be as big as the election for the presidency, but this was still huge.

"This is weird," he murmured, furrowing his brows. "Why is there no word about it?"

Challenged, Primo slowly got immersed in finding out about Dominic’s inauguration. He couldn’t even wonder why in the world Hera was interested in it. He just wanted to get the job done.

"It’s in two hours." Suddenly, Deborah spoke and Primo quickly raised his head.

"How did you know?" Primo gasped. "Don’t tell me you’re guessing."

Deborah looked back. "I still have reliable contacts who never worked for Dragon. When Dragon needs information and I can’t get it alone, I contact them."

Primo frowned, thinking Deborah was trying to outshine him. It wasn’t like that was important to Hera.

"Two hours..." Hera breathed out, snapping her eyes at the window. "We can’t make it there, can we?"

"Even if we fly now, it’ll take us nine hours to reach the country," Deborah answered sternly. "Why, though? Isn’t our priority Wolf now?"

"I don’t think Dragon’s priority was Wolf," Hera answered. "Considering Wolf is under Interpol’s custody, it would be too tricky for Ram, Dragon, or even Dimitri to catch him and leave unscathed."

Deborah furrowed her brows, looking at Hera in confusion.

"You’re telling me they were targeting Dominic?" Primo gasped, wide-eyed.

"Dominic is a threat." This time, Hunter’s low baritone resonated in the vehicle. "Looking back, even though Dominic didn’t participate in the attack launched at Dragon, his wife did."

"It must’ve been hard for Ram to sacrifice such a good agent like you," Hera commented, nodding in satisfaction.

Deborah and Primo slowly gazed down, only realizing that now after Hunter mentioned it.

"You’re saying Dragon would’ve attacked Dominic because of Heaven?" Primo inquired, even though he already knew the answer.

"I think he did mention that," Deborah rocked her head, remembering what Dragon had been saying while she was hiding in the closet. "Even if he didn’t say it, what Heaven Liu did is enough to piss him off. It’s not something Dragon would ignore."

"There’s no question about Dimitri. If there’s anyone who knows Dominic Zhu and what he’s capable of, that would be him," she added, glancing back to Hera. "That quick thinking... is almost amazing. How did you know?"

"How did I know or how did I not doesn’t matter. Just think, I’m a genius," Hera leaned back, picking up the phone that was in the placement on the door. "Bottom line is, Ram is probably told to target him. It’s why he isn’t here. But knowing him, he won’t make a move until he hears from you guys."

"Primo, didn’t he give you any form of contact?" Hunter asked, glancing at the rearview mirror. "There should be, right?"

"Unfortunately." Primo clicked his tongue. "That old bastard... I’m just glad I was able to get out alive."

"Ram will contact you," Hera remarked. "Make sure to tell him to have a good explanation for me."

"So?" Hunter cleared his throat. "Should we go to Dominic? Though I don’t think we’d make it in time."

"No." Hera drew a deep breath, leaning back comfortably. "I trust Dominic. We go to Wolf."

"Are you planning to barge in the Interpol’s headquarters?!" Primo gasped. "Hey! Marching there is like giving those guys a treat! Every single one of us in here is a felon, and that’s like tearing at least ten pages of their wanted list."

Hera arched a brow and smirked at Primo. "This is why you never went that far as No One," she remarked, making him scoff at the blatant insult. Hera just shook her head, putting the phone in front of her ear.

"It’s me," she said, earning everyone’s interest. The corner of her lips curled up. "How does ’Interpol catch powerful figures in the underground,’ sounds in the tabloids? I think it’s much better than hearing moles from the underground successfully infiltrated the oh-so-mighty government agencies."
