Chapter 1007: You know that too?!
Primo, Deborah, and Hunter followed Hera back into the mansion. It was awkward. The three of them had met Hera at one point in their lives. They only had one thing to say about her; she wasn’t like what they thought she would be.
That impression stuck in their head until now that they were following her.
"I said fill me in," Hera broke the silence. "I’m hearing none."
"Fill you in where?" Primo remarked, almost annoyed. "We came here to rescue you and Joker. It failed miserably."
Hunter glanced at the irritated Primo before setting his eyes on Hera’s back. "We negotiated — more like this guy approached Ram. Ram promised us that if we succeed, he will take down Dragon. He cannot afford to betray him blatantly, knowing Dragon would hurt you."
What Hunter got from Hera was nothing but pure silence. He didn’t know if that was relevant or not; he couldn’t tell.
"Are you asking about that or something else?" he added just so they knew what they should say. After all, following Hera and telling her some of their plans just didn’t feel right.
Hera might’ve saved them from dying on this mission, but right now, she was undeniably the Don everyone knew about. She didn’t even need to speak or kill someone to prove that. Her aura alone was intimidating enough even a grown man would find themselves being cautious.
This was the real deal.
One of the few dons in the underground that would make their enemies terrified more than angry.
"Everything," Hera muttered, stopping by the infirmary to check Joker’s progress. "I want to know everything."
The three looked at each other, hesitation was evident in their eyes. Should they tell her everything? It might be stupid not to. After all, they risked their lives saving her. But now, it felt like they jumped into a trap. Hera didn’t seem like she needed to be rescued. The woman basically rescued herself!
What a confusing and mysterious turn of events.
"If you’re asking about those guys, we don’t know much," Deborah sighed, telling everything she knew before they left the facility. "But from what I heard, aside from Joker’s capture, Wolf was also arrested."
Hera arched a brow as she glanced over her shoulder. "Wolf was arrested?"
"Tsk. Why are you telling her?" Primo grumbled, only to see the determined look in Deborah’s eyes.
"If you’re holding back information because of pride, then you’re being stupid," Deborah remarked. "This woman can kill us right here and now without lifting a finger. You’ve seen how everyone turned their backs on Dragon with just her words alone."
Hunter lowered his eyes, darting his eyes between the two.
"If there’s anyone in here who knew more than enough, that would be you," he said, agreeing with Deborah and fixing his gaze on Primo. "I don’t think she wants to kill us, though."
Hunter paused, shifting his eyes to Hera. "If she does plan that, she could’ve done it already."
"You make me sound like a maniac," Hera commented, setting her attention back to the window where she could see the operation. "Don’t tell me if you don’t want to. But I’ll kill you if something bad happens to my people, No One."
Primo frowned, now understanding he didn’t have an ally anymore. These two switched sides so fast!
"I don’t know much, okay? I left because they annoy the hell out of me!" Primo snapped his tongue in irritation. "Heaven, do you know her? She risked her life and was in the intensive care unit because of you. That’s why it makes me angry that they weren’t doing anything to rescue you. Obviously, I now understand why. Still, it’s annoying. It feels like that witch just wasted her time and risked her life for nothing."
Hera raised her brows slightly, a bit taken aback at Primo’s remarks. She didn’t expect that from him.
"All I know is that Dominic — is it even safe to mention his name?"
"What about him?"
"You know him?" Primo squinted his eyes. "How?"
"What about him?" Hera repeated, slowly turning on her heel to face them. "Tell me."
Primo leaned back a little, feeling a little suffocated at the aura emanating from her back. "Well, he... he plans to push through his inauguration. He won the election, after all. Almost like a landslide."
"I know he would win." Hera nodded. "Keep talking."
"Then Wolf was arrested. Their assumption is it’s either Dragon did it or Dimitri. They’re leaning more toward the latter, though. They assumed it was too soon for Dragon to make a move because we all assumed he wasn’t doing good." Primo rubbed his chin as he pondered more. "Then, Joker. That’s all."
"Is Ivy safe?"
"Huh?" Primo furrowed his brows.
"Am I required to repeat everything I say, so it goes in your head?"
"No, I mean... how did you know about Miss Wei?" This time, not just Primo, but Hunter and Deborah also looked at Hera with deep curiosity.
As far as they knew, Dragon and Dimitri didn’t make any contact before and after the attack. Even if they did, who would talk about their hostages? It wasn’t like it was a competition.
Hera blinked, watching the three observe her curiously. "Wild guess."
"Wild guess? Do you see us stupid?"
"No." Hera shook her head. "I see you as an incompetent and highly emotional individual who surely dies quickly in the underground. I was hoping you’d buy the lie."
"..."
"So? Is she alright? And Leo?"
"Leo is fine as far as I know," Primo still answered regardless of that blatant insult thrown right to his face. "And Miss Wei too. She even has the energy to make out with her lover."
"That damn Tiger."
"The fuck!?" Primo gasped. "You know that too?! Why are you asking questions if you already know?!"
Hera opened her mouth, making the three hold their breaths as they anticipated her answer. However, she pressed her lips once more and leaned back.
"Think carefully of what else you haven’t told me," she said, knocking on the window as if sending a message to the people inside. "Everyone is probably in the lobby. Walk with me and stay close. This place is still too crowded and suffocating."
