Chapter 28: Pak Soon Hyun

Riley’s face didn’t show it but he was feeling anxious inside.

He only had energy for this last Lightning Strike, so he had to make sure he doesn’t miss.

The static in the air increased and the Water Gorilla sensed danger when its fur stood up on end.

It stopped the waterspout and a wall of water covered its body.

Bam!

The Water Gorilla started to hurl water bombs at Riley.

When the water bombs hit the ground, droplets of water splashed around.

Riley who was then raising his arm to unleash his lightning strike, felt pain as the water droplets penetrated his armor and skin.

He had no choice but to leap and dodge away from the water droplets.

The Water Gorilla took the opportunity and unleashed a waterspout at Riley again.

Riley knew he didn’t have much time left and he unleashed his lightning strike at the Water Gorilla.

In an instant, a bright flash filled the training room.

It swung its huge arm next and flung a water bomb at Riley.

The water bomb hit the ground and the water droplets shot at Riley.

Blood seeped out from his armor as many water droplets had penetrated through his armor.

The crowd of awakened gasped in anxiety.

Riley had tried so hard, those that blushed earlier thought.

Some shook their heads as they knew the eventuality.

"I give up." Riley raised his hand and said.

Sam who was in the control room, quickly stopped the training sequence and pressed the button for medical attention.

The Water Gorilla dissipated and the training room, now wrecked, only had Riley in it.

Soon, a team of men and women dressed in white came running into the training room.

They got next to Riley and held up their hands.

White glow appeared from their hands and the white glow darted out onto Riley’s body.

Slowly the bleeding from Riley’s wounds stopped and he thanked the medical staff.

Lukas took note of the medical staff who had healing abilities.

It seemed like there were still so many abilities for him to explore and find out.

He was also pleasantly surprised with Riley’s ability.

The Lightning Strike attack was so powerful and fast that he didn’t have any confidence to dodge it.

"Are you all right?"

"It’s ok. We can try again next time."

"That fellow must have gotten lucky. Don’t worry too much."

The crowd of awakened tried to console Riley as Riley got out of the training room.

"It’s not luck. Don’t underestimate Lukas’s ability. To get to this level, luck is not enough." Riley said as he tried to tidy up his long blue hair with his fingers.

Young ladies in the awakened crowd nodded and looked up at Riley.

"You are so full of wisdom. Please share more of the wisdom and fill me up with it."

One of the young ladies perked up her chest and tried to get close to Riley.

"No, you don’t!" The other ladies weren’t happy, and they got into a tussle.

Riley shook his head, and he called out to Mandy, "Mandy, if it’s possible can I have the contact for Lukas?"

Mandy hesitated for a while, and she stole a glance at Lukas.

Lukas shook his head slightly.

He was not ready to deal with joining an awakened team yet.

Getting stronger by himself was his main priority now.

"Lukas told me he needed some time to clear his mind, and he didn’t want any distractions." Mandy took Lukas’s cue and said.

"Well, if he changes his mind, you have my contact." Riley gave Mandy a wink and left the Awakened Center.

His teammates who were sitting on the sofa in the lobby area, stood up and followed behind him.

The other awakened looked on in envy as most of them would give up anything to join Riley’s team.

"Lukas is some stuck up, huh."

"Young man playing hard to get, not knowing what he is missing out on."

"Imagine all the riches he is leaving on the table by not joining Riley."

They shook their heads thinking that Lukas was missing out on rewards.

Lukas, however, didn’t bother with them and he left the Awakened Center.

Robertson Mansion.

Jules Robertson and Pak Soon Hyun were seated on the lush sofa.

Pak Soon Hyun leaned forward and said, "It’s confirmed. Lukas was going out of the city to clear the demonic beasts."

He said and stood up excitedly.

"Finally, here’s our chance."

"You know what my father said previously, don’t you?" Jules Robertson said as he stared at Pak Soon Hyun.

Pak Soon Hyun thumped his chest and said, "Jules, your father asked you to lie low, so let me handle it instead.

"It would be an honor for the Pak family to help you get rid of some lowlife."

"What’s your plan? Lukas isn’t any pushover anymore." Jules Robertson was pleased with Pak Soon Hyun’s loyalty to his family.

He knew what Pak Soon Hyun’s family wanted, more contracts, and he would be more than glad to give it to them if Pak Soon Hyun managed to help him to get rid of Lukas.

Patricia didn’t seem like herself anymore.

He had sent message after message to her, but she didn’t even reply once.

Jules Robertson could feel the anger simmering inside as he thought about it.

He quickly drank a mouthful of water to cool himself down.

"Here’s my family’s plan.

"We will engage the Skeleton Team, all of the team members are at least S Level and the leader himself is an SSS Level awakened.

"They are renowned for their ability to kill and murder, it shall be a piece of cake for them to take care of Lukas outside of the city.

"After all, it’s a no man’s land out there."

Pak Soon Hyun smirked as he felt his bandaged hand that was crushed by Lukas.
