I Can Transform Into Any Monster -
Chapter 76: Turtle
Chapter 76: Turtle
Luis had no difficulty finding a book printing company because there was a factory not far from his housing complex.
It had been around for a long time and was still operating to this day.
Luis had never actually visited the printing factory before, and it turned out to be rather quiet, with only a few workers.
He also noticed a bookstore in front of the factory.
It was actually quite busy, with many young people or men in their 30s coming and going.
Even in this digital era, there were still many people who preferred reading physical books.
Luis wondered where he could find the boss of this factory.
Just as he was pondering, he suddenly saw an old man in a black suit appear on the balcony on the third floor of the factory.
The old man stretched his body, looking exhausted.
Whoosh!
Luis jumped toward the balcony, landing in front of the old man, who staggered in shock.
"Are you the owner of this printing factory?" Luis asked.
"Yes, is there something you need?" the old man quickly replied, realizing that the young man before him was an Awakener.
As a regular old man, he didn’t dare to respond slowly or rudely. In fact, his tone was extremely polite.
Only fellow Awakeners could act casually in front of other Awakeners.
"I want you to help me print all the history books in Velos, and I want them done today. No matter the cost, I’ll pay for it," Luis said, shocking the old man again.
Luis casually sat on a chair, sipping coffee made by Isadonna.
He actually carried the coffee in his Dimensional Artifact.
"Sir, are you serious?" the old man asked.
"However, all history books... even though I have data for all of them, I only have the rights to print a tenth..." he explained.
"If you want money, just do the job," Luis replied. "Besides, no one will know. And if anyone does, just say it was my request — Luis Moonvale."
"..."
Luis left the factory shortly afterward.
The old man agreed to his request and said he would instruct all his workers to print every history book.
The printing factory was quite advanced. It had no trouble printing all the books with covers in a short time. In short, as long as there was money to pay for the costs — especially energy for the machines — it could be done.
The old man promised it would be done by the afternoon.
It was estimated that the total would exceed 100,000 history books.
Of course, the complete number of history books in Velos far surpassed that, but these were the ones considered worth reading.
The ones deemed unworthy were excluded — they’d only be trash.
And although more than 100,000 books would be printed, it was unlikely that Isadonna could read them all. But at the very least, she would be free to choose what she wanted to read.
Luis, of course, went to his school. He wanted to know if Alice was there.
However, just as he arrived at the school gate, he received a message from Madam Sofia.
(Alice is fine. She did go on a dangerous adventure and came back injured. Her wounds have healed. She is now resting in the hospital until tomorrow. Apparently, her phone battery is dead!)
That was the content of the message from Madam Sofia, informing him about Alice’s condition.
Hearing that she was okay, Luis sighed in relief.
"Hey, Luis!"
After reading the message, Luis suddenly heard Thomas’s voice.
He saw the man with his group, including Milo, who hated him.
Judging by their appearance, they had just returned from the casino.
Of course, they must have lost early since they came back so quickly.
Thomas hadn’t made any progress — he was still at Level D.
His mother apparently hadn’t given him Monster Cores to advance to Level C.
Luis had some trouble greeting Thomas since it reminded him of his mother flirting with him.
"Thomas, is there something you want to do?" He eventually forced himself to speak.
For a moment, his awkwardness was evident.
Thomas looked a bit puzzled by his expression but didn’t seem to think much of it.
"We want to go to the Apocalypse World. There’s something interesting outside Velos City 33 — because of Alice," Thomas replied.
"Because of Alice?"
Luis couldn’t help but be confused.
"She stole something from a monster’s nest that got her injured. She only returned at 5 a.m. today. A lot of monsters chased her, and she only managed to open a dimensional rift in front of Velos City 33. Even now, the monsters that were chasing her are still gathered there. I heard there are ten Level 7 Monsters."
"What? Ten Level 7 Monsters?"
Luis couldn’t help but be shocked.
After all, Level 7 Monsters were equivalent to B-Rank Awakeners. Even ordinary monsters, if they reached B-Rank, possessed terrifying strength.
Compared to Primordial Monsters, they were only one tier lower. In other words, they were equivalent to Level 6 Primordial Monsters.
Of course, some of them might possess extraordinary abilities that made them slightly stronger than Level 6 Primordial Monsters.
"The entire city is now filled with monsters. But for us low to mid-level Awakeners, it’s still relatively safe since the Level 6 and 7 monsters are outside the city. Right now, Mr. Joe and other B-Rank Awakeners are fighting those monsters," Thomas continued.
Mr. Joe was a teacher at their school but also a B-Rank Awakener.
Luis was curious how strong he truly was and what his abilities looked like.
"Are you guys going to Apocalypse World from here?" Luis asked.
"Yeah, we just got word that the area around the school is safer. How about joining us? With your armor, you can protect us from monster attacks," Thomas replied with a soft laugh.
"By the way, have you reached Level C?" he then asked.
Luis hadn’t told the school he had reached Level C, but back then, when Alice wanted to help him, Milo overheard Alice’s words.
And Milo definitely would’ve told the others that Alice had helped him.
The question was whether Alice had really helped him and whether he had successfully reached Level C.
"Yeah!" Luis didn’t deny it, since there was no need to hide it.
All of Thomas’s friends immediately showed envious expressions, especially Milo — he seemed to feel like the world was unfair now.
The problem was Luis hadn’t advanced on his own. He was helped by Alice.
Just how close were they that Alice would help him like that?
Luis wasn’t sure how they would react if they knew his true strength.
Right now, they thought he simply had a spirit that could summon a diamond armor.
"Will you come with us?" Thomas asked, still looking relaxed.
Although Madam Sofia said he had personality issues, he was clearly the friendly type toward others.
"Sure, but later I might go off on my own to fight stronger monsters," Luis replied.
"Hahaha, no problem," Thomas said.
"Hmph, going off alone — how will you fight those monsters?" Apparently, Milo questioned his decision.
The others were a bit surprised at how bold he was. Luis was already at Level C — he shouldn’t be mocking him, but clearly, he couldn’t control himself due to his hatred.
Luis was too lazy to respond. If they weren’t in a public place, he would’ve beaten him to death.
Didn’t he know Luis could kill now?
"Hahaha, Luis can still rely on weapons. Let’s go!" Thomas defended Luis with a laugh.
He then opened a dimensional rift in front of them.
To avoid conflict among them, he decided to speed things up.
Once the rift opened, he entered immediately, followed by the students beside him.
The others went in one by one, and Luis was the last.
They were watched by the other students — still just ordinary humans — who could only envy them.
Boom! Boom!
Luis had just entered the Apocalypse World and immediately heard the sound of buildings collapsing nonstop.
And of course, that was due to the rampaging monsters.
Many of them were massive and easily demolished large structures.
However, Luis couldn’t help but feel strange when he saw the monsters. They were actually turtles.
In fact, almost all the monsters were turtles.
And they had also caused heavy rain in Velos 33, flooding the city up to a meter high, making it comfortable for the turtles.
"Where did they come from?" Luis asked.
"Surprising, isn’t it?" Thomas replied with a smile.
"Unfortunately, we don’t know where they came from either. Only Alice knows. For now, their nest is considered unimportant because they even left it just to chase Alice."
"Looks like she found something priceless," Luis said.
He’d have to ask Alice later what kind of treasure she obtained.
Of course, with a treasure like that and people knowing about it, Alice might not be very safe. Monsters couldn’t chase her into the real world, but Awakeners could.
Wak! Wak! Wak!
When the turtles saw Luis and the others, they immediately ran toward them.
"Be careful — their hands, feet, and heads can extend," Thomas said.
After saying that, he breathed fire at the horde of approaching turtles. They were Level 2 and 3 monsters. Too easy for Thomas to burn them.
In seconds, they turned to ash, leaving only their Monster Cores behind.
