I Can Transform Into Any Monster
Chapter 62: The Items

Chapter 62: The Items

"You’re right, madam," Luis replied with a chuckle, feeling that he was the same. If something was too tempting, there was a chance he would rob someone for it.

Personalities couldn’t be completely trusted.

Luis saw more people arriving, and some of them were even ordinary humans.

Ordinary humans who came here obviously shouldn’t be underestimated, as there was a chance they were underlings of powerful people.

"Now, let’s go," Madam Sofia said.

After saying that, she opened the door beside her and stepped down to the ground.

Her car couldn’t be called the most eye-catching, but the moment she stepped out, all eyes turned toward her.

In no time, many men were captivated by her, as her figure was too striking for just an auction.

Such glamorous style was supposed to be reserved for parties of the rich.

Even men her age weren’t needed; even young men couldn’t blink while staring at her.

Walker and Riven hadn’t entered the auction building yet. They had just arrived at the entrance.

Naturally, they noticed Madam Sofia.

Walker, who recognized her, instinctively furrowed his brows because of the unexpected encounter.

They were still technically family through marriage.

Her late husband was his uncle—his mother’s brother.

However, since his uncle had died long ago, they weren’t close. He was only familiar with her son, Thomas, his cousin.

"This woman is really beautiful," one of the imperial academy students beside him commented, making Walker uncomfortable as the student looked at Sofia with clear desire.

He himself couldn’t deny her beauty, but she was still his former aunt. Naturally, he couldn’t harbor any strange thoughts about her.

However, a moment later, he was filled with surprise as he saw a young man step out from the driver’s seat.

"Luis," he blurted out instinctively.

The imperial students finally realized that the red-haired woman had arrived with Luis.

"How is he with her?" the lustful student wondered aloud.

"They’re not in a relationship, are they?" another asked, clearly uneasy and jealous.

With their minds full of desire, they couldn’t think rationally and immediately grew suspicious after seeing Luis alone with Madam Sofia in a sports car.

To them, age differences weren’t a big deal if the woman was that beautiful.

The stares from the imperial students meant nothing to Luis.

He was more uneasy because of the gazes from middle-aged men.

Their eyes seemed to say, ’Kid, it’s not your turn to date that woman!’

’It seems Awakener are more sensitive and suspicious, maybe because it’s too easy for them to get women,’ Luis thought.

Madam Sofia clearly was used to drawing this kind of attention.

She could act naturally as if nothing was happening.

When someone stared too aggressively, she returned their gaze with narrowed eyes and revealed a bit of her aura.

And it worked—frightening the man, who suddenly realized she was strong, even among Level C Awakeners.

Luis had only just realized this.

Madam Sofia was clearly not weak.

One thing is certain: she has more than one Tier 2 Spirit, possibly with the addition of several Tier 1 Spirits.

"Ohhh, Sofia, long time no see!" suddenly one of the middle-aged men called out to Madam Sofia and walked over to her.

The man had a handsome face with a thin mustache. He was a local but had bright, wavy blond hair.

His presence stood out because he was flanked by five large bodyguards—all Awakeners—while he himself was a Level C Awakener.

He wasn’t from Velos 33, but in another city, he was clearly an influential and well-known figure.

"Liam, so you’re here too," Madam Sofia responded with a slight smile.

It seemed they were old acquaintances.

"Yeah, but I’m not really planning to buy anything. I just came to watch," said the middle-aged man, Liam.

"But it looks like you’re aiming for something," he added, looking at Madam Sofia from head to toe with admiration.

"I didn’t expect it—everyone’s getting older, but you’re only getting more beautiful. You were the most beautiful girl in our high school, and now you might be the prettiest in Velos 32." He chuckled, openly complimenting her.

"There are many more beautiful women—you just haven’t seen them," Madam Sofia replied.

"That depends on the eyes of the beholder. To me, you’re truly the most beautiful," Liam said, continuing his flattery.

However, Madam Sofia was clearly used to compliments. She showed no reaction.

"Oh, who’s this young man? Is he your son?" The man’s attention shifted to Luis.

The latter rolled his eyes at being mistaken for her son.

"No, he’s my friend..." Madam Sofia responded immediately.

"Friend?" the middle-aged man looked stunned to hear they were friends.

"Sorry, Liam, it looks like the auction is about to start," said Madam Sofia before stepping forward and signaling Luis to follow her.

This time, Luis walked beside her.

"Madam, it seems that man likes you," he said.

He walked beside her because he wanted to say that.

"Since a long time ago. I’ve received 34 love letters from him," the woman replied, stunning Luis again.

"Seems your charm is driving a lot of men crazy," Luis said with a wry smile.

"What’s wrong? Do you want to go crazy too?" the woman replied with a giggle and gave him a playful smile.

Luis’s face froze hearing that.

She probably said that because he had started to seem like he was flirting with her.

Even he was surprised at how bold he had become.

However, Madam Sofia just kept smiling at him.

She didn’t say anything else.

As they continued walking, they passed the imperial students who were still lingering at the entrance of the auction building.

One of them gave him a completely different look—full of hatred and resentment.

Of course, it was Velika Aris.

Luis couldn’t be bothered to respond to her glare. He kept walking, entering the auction building with curiosity. He was curious about what kinds of items would be sold.

Upon entering, he found a room similar to a movie theater.

From the entrance, people had to walk down some stairs and then move sideways to pick their seats.

Each seat was large, with wide armrests that provided space between each one.

There were many attendants welcoming guests. They were offered seats and served drinks and snacks.

Luis was quickly drawn to the stage at the very bottom.

A beautiful young woman from the empire stood on the stage, wearing a formal shirt and skirt.

She smiled warmly at everyone, including the locals. But the most captivating part was the large screen above the stage showing images of various items, complete with their starting prices.

Naturally, the auction organizers didn’t dare to show the actual items, only their photos, since someone might get too greedy and try to steal them.

Luis observed each item, finding four Tier A Level 2 Weapons—one of which was a bow.

He wasn’t interested in them, but many people seemed very tempted by those weapons.

Using them would significantly enhance their combat power.

"Mmm!"

Luis’s eyes sparkled brightly as he found two of the items he was looking for.

He needed seven items, four of which he could provide himself, while one—a heart—still had to be found.

But these two were the only ones that weren’t from monster bodies.

The Star Eye and the Death Leaf.

The Death Leaf looked like an ordinary leaf, but it was black and continuously emitted black smoke.

Its starting price wasn’t too high, just 15 million.

It was only rare, but its usefulness was often questioned since most people didn’t know it was a material for building a Giant Shadow Body.

However, there weren’t many other uses for it, so its value wasn’t too high.

The Star Eye, however, was different. Its shape was extraordinary. It looked like a star, but had an eye on its body.

Still, it wasn’t a living creature—just shaped like one.

It was said to be a natural treasure, often suspected to be a real star that had fallen from the sky of the Apocalypse World.

Its starting price was even 75 million, enough to make Luis pessimistic about obtaining it.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t an item with questionable utility.

Even though people didn’t know it was a material for building a Giant Shadow Body, it was widely known that it could be refined into a powerful weapon, or used to enhance a Spirit’s Tier from Tier 1 to Tier 2 with star power, among many other uses.

"Luis, let’s go over there!" Madam Sofia suddenly spoke, pointing to seats by the window at the far right corner.

Luis nodded and followed her there.

"Madam, which item are you after?" Luis asked as they arrived at their seats.

Madam Sofia sat by the window while Luis sat next to her.

He still didn’t know what item she wanted and was a bit curious after seeing all the items.

Actually, he was a little worried that she might also want the Star Eye or the Death Leaf. If that were the case, things would become difficult.

"I want that mirror artifact!" Madam Sofia pointed to a picture of a mirror that was somewhat similar to a makeup mirror, except that its entire frame was made of gold.

Judging from the picture, the mirror appeared to be two meters tall and one meter wide.

Its starting price was 65 million, so Luis wondered what its capabilities were.

He only knew that it was an artifact.
