Chapter 71: Taunting Ogre Tribe Leader

Chapter 71: Taunting Ogre Tribe Leader

Renjiro’s eyes narrowed as he watched the trembling Giant Leader. "Innate abilities, huh?" He muttered. "I’ve never seen a mountain giant use one... do they even have them?"

Meanwhile, the Giant Leader let out a furious roar. He raised his steel warhammer high, lightning surging through it. With a single, devastating swing, he sent the giant golem flying.

The sky filled with shattered stone—fragments of their bodies breaking apart on impact.

Two giant golem hit the ground, their abdomens caved in by the warhammer’s force. But instead of blood and flesh, only solid rock remained.

That was when it became clear—giant golem weren’t like other creatures. They weren’t flesh and bone. They were living stone.

No wonder people said that as long as their magical core remained intact, they could rebuild themselves with the power of the earth—even if they were completely shattered.

The Giant Leader scowled. "Damn it! Why won’t they stay down?!"

Every strike felt like slamming his hammer into a stone. His arms ached from the impact, but no matter how hard he hit, he couldn’t break them completely.

Worse—his lightning wasn’t killing them or harming them with no return.

He was a tenth circle warrior. The lightning he summoned was powerful enough to turn most creatures to nothing but their ashes.

Yet these mountain giants—mere ninth-circle beings—were still standing. Sure, their body trembled from the shockwave, but they weren’t falling.

As the lightning finally faded, the giant golem straightened, regaining their movement.

One of them rumbled, "You broke the rules first, giant! You used lightning!"

Another voice echoed. "So don’t blame us for what would happen next!"

The giant golem exchanged glances, then suddenly gathered around one of their own.

The Giant Leader tensed, preparing to summon another strike. Then one of the giant golem opened its mouth—and roared.

"ROOOOAAAARRRR!!!"

The sound wasn’t just loud. It was devastating. A primal force that shook the air itself.

The Giant Leader’s vision blurred. His head spun.

"What... the hell...?" Before he could react, his body moved on its own. His legs carried him straight toward the roaring giant golem.

And the moment he got close, the others swarmed him, slamming him into the ground. By the time the strange power faded, the Giant Leader had barely managed to push himself up—

And then, another giant golem opened its mouth and let out the same earth-shaking roar.

"Oh, come on—!" His body moved again, completely beyond his control, charging straight at the new roaring giant golem.

And just like before, the giant golem tackled him, pounding him into the dirt.

Over and over, it repeated. Every time he got up, another roar. Every time he regained control, his body betrayed him again.

By the end, the Giant Leader lay sprawled on the ground, beaten and unrecognizable. His mighty steel warhammer lay discarded beside him.

His entire body was swollen and battered, a pathetic sight. Even the ogres watching from afar could barely believe what they were seeing.

The once-mighty Giant Leader of the ogre tribe had been reduced to nothing more than a helpless punching bag for giant golem.

The Giant Leader lay beat-up on the ground, its steel warhammers tossed aside in the dirt. Its swollen, bruised body looked round and lumpy, like a big, ugly ball.

Even the ogres watching from far off could hardly tell it was their strong leader anymore. The air smelled of sweat and blood, and the grass under it was smashed flat, fully wet with red blood.

"Cowards Giant Golems! You’ve gone too far!"

The Giant Leader groaned loud, pain and anger mixing in its shaky voice. The Giant Golems’ tricks were nasty!

One would yell from far away, its deep roar bouncing off the rocks, making the Giant Leader mad and clumsy.

Then the others would jump in, pinning it down with their heavy stone hands and hitting it hard ’til it couldn’t think straight.

When it got back up, dizzy and wobbly, another Giant Golem would shout from a new spot, pulling it into another wild rush—and more pounding. Who could fight that sneaky plan?

The Giant Golems grinned, their rocky faces smug. "This is us being smart—using our gifts right. How could a slow pathetic Giant like you would get it?"

The Giant Leader went quiet, its chest heaving.

What could it say? It didn’t want to talk.

"Kill me! I’d rather die by giant hands than some stranger! But dying to you cowards Giant Golems will still be the worst shame of my life!"

It spat the words out, bitter and loud, then shut its eyes tight. It didn’t beg or give up. With Titan blood in its veins, its pride burned hotter than the elves’ or even the dragons out there.

The Giant Golems didn’t wait. Under the scared, wide eyes of the ogres, they finished it quick—big stone fists smashing down. The Giant Leader of the ogre tribe’s reign over the ogre tribe ended right there, its body still in the dirt and its blood.

As it fell, a loud war horn blasted through the air, sharp and deep. The ten Giant Golems turned and ran straight into the ogre camp, their steps shaking the ground like thunder.

At the same time, a big wave of arrows shot up from the archers, dark against the sky. With their leader gone, the ogres’ spirits sank low, like a fire snuffed out.

Even with the prophet waving its staff, sending red magic ripples over them, it couldn’t hold their lines together.

Arrows rained down thick, whistling loud, and ogres fell fast—some dead from just one hit, their yells cut short.

The elven archers, now fifth-circle after getting stronger, had their sharp sharshooter skill boosted by the 50% extra power from Intermediate Power Boost.

Their arrows flew true and hard, punching through ogre skin like it was paper—scary strong. The wind carried the smell of feathers and blood, and the ground turned muddy with red puddles.

Renjiro watched it all from Sylphie’s back, calm and sure, the breeze tugging at his hair. Against his 40,000-strong army, the ogre tribe never had a shot.

Even without the Giant Golems, they’d have lost just the same. He hadn’t even touched his special artifact, the dagger tucked safe at his side. The fight was already won, the air heavy with ogre cries and the thump of their falling bodies and their bodies blood.

Elaria rode up beside him, her unicorn’s hooves soft on the grass. She tilted her head, her voice curious. "Your Majesty, how do the Giant Golems boss the Giant Leader around and leave it helpless?"

"It’s their trick—Taunt!" Renjiro said, nodding slow. The system had told him clear. Giant Golems had two gifts: [Taunt] and [Stone Defense].

[Taunt] was easy—they roared loud, and it made enemies lose their heads and run right at them.

[Stone Defense] just happened on its own, making them super tough against hits and magic.

That’s why the Giant Leader’s lightning barely left a mark—their stone skin soaked it up, and electricity didn’t stick to them good.

Elaria’s eyes went big, her face lighting up like she’d figured out a puzzle of what Renjiro had said. "Mind-control magic?!"
