Chapter 67: Leveling Up

Lorien’s voice stopped sharp, like a string snapping. She stared at the open space around them, her eyes wide.

Countless elven archers and huntresses sat cross-legged on the soft grass, their hair fluttering in the breeze. Waves of magic pulsed around them, glowing bright like little fires—everyone was breaking through their ranks.

The air smelled sharp and alive, and the ground hummed under their feet. In that moment, all four elves—Lorien, Elaria, Selena, and Lirael—froze, their breaths caught in their throats.

Elaria blinked fast, her eyes big as she turned to Renjiro. "Your Majesty, did you just call these elves from the divine realm?"

Renjiro nodded, his face calm. "No need to Worry about anything. I’ve got an idea on what’s happening here. This is a gift from the Goddess. She saw our people struggling, so she poured her special power into them—lifted them up to stronger ranks."

"The great Goddess!" The three commanders Lorien, Selena, and Lirael—tilted their heads back, gazing at the sky with awe. Their hands clasped tight, and their voices shook with respect.

Elaria’s reaction was softer. She tipped her head, her hair catching the sunlight, and frowned a little. "Your Majesty, that’s odd. How come we didn’t get any of that divine power?"

Renjiro’s mouth twitched, just a tiny flicker nobody caught. ’Because you weren’t summoned by me!’ He couldn’t say that out loud, though. Instead, he shrugged, his shoulders loose. "Who knows what the Goddess is thinking? Let’s not think too deep on Goddess is thinking."

Elaria pursed her lips but let it go, her eyes drifting back to the glowing elves.

The three commanders wandered over to the Hunter’s Hall, their boots crunching on the dirt.

The small building looked like a palace, with smooth white walls and a roof curved like a bird’s wing. It had popped up out of nowhere, and when Lorien pushed the door, it wouldn’t budge.

She turned back, her dark braid swinging. "Your Majesty, what’s this place?"

"This?" Renjiro paused, rubbing his chin. "It’s the Hunter’s Hall. I’ll tell you what it does later."

Lorien, Selena, and Lirael stepped back quickly, their eyes darting to each other. If His Majesty wasn’t spilling the details, it had to be something big—better not to poke around. They nodded silently and kept their distance.

Time crawled by, slow and quiet. The sun dipped lower, painting the sky orange and pink. One by one, the archers and huntresses finished their breakthroughs.

Every single one climbed higher. The archers started at peak fourth-circle—strong already. Now, most hit the early fifth-circle, and a few fast ones jumped to mid fifth-circle, their bows gleaming in the fading light.

The huntresses began at peak fifth-circle, tough and quick on their panthers. Most reached the early sixth-circle, and some pushed to mid sixth-circle, their armor shining brighter.

With just one boost, both groups got way stronger—ready to fight harder than ever.

As the elves grew, a huge wave of magic rushed into Renjiro. It felt warm and wild, like a river crashing through him.

Without waiting, he dropped to the grass in front of Elaria and the stunned commanders. The magic roared inside, pushing his power up fast. His hair fluttered, and the air around him buzzed.

When he opened his eyes, he’d leaped from late eighth-circle to early ninth-circle, skipping the top of eighth entirely. The elves’ magic was just that strong.

Elaria gasped, her hands flying to her mouth. "Your Majesty, you’re at an early ninth-circle already?!"

Renjiro nodded, brushing dirt off his knees. "I just received a what the Goddess and send and broke through."

Elaria just stared, her jaw slack. The three commanders gaped, their pretty faces frozen in shock.

"His Majesty’s a royal elf—he’s got real talent!" Lorien whispered, her voice shaking.

Selena nodded fast. "Tenth circle’s coming soon—maybe even Eleventh..."

Lirael clutched her sword, eyes shining. "He’s unstoppable!"

Renjiro tuned them out and spoke in his head. ’System, the intermediate boosts lifted the archers’ and huntresses’ ranks. Do they still get the 50% power and defense bonuses?’

[Users query received. Boost effects are permanent. Rank-ups and body improvements are extra. Power and defense bonuses remain as hidden stats.]

"Hidden stats?" he mumbled, frowning.

[Explanation: Archers at peak fourth-circle, base attack 100 points. Early fifth-circle, attack rises to 300 points. Intermediate power boost adds 50%, total attack 450 points. Hidden stats stay active.]

Renjiro’s face lit up, his eyes wide with surprise.

These hidden stats were crazy strong. He started dreaming—if he spent a billion coins on a master-level power boost, giving the archers ten times their attack, they could smash foes one or two circles higher.

Picture it: ninth-circle archers sniping Tenth circle enemies with one shot. His heart raced. No race on the Sacred Continent would dare face that.

One rain of arrows—everything dead. What army could stand it? Even the tough kodo beasts from the beast clans would run scared, their thick hides no match.

"Ninth-circle sniping Tenth circle—that’s nuts to think about!" he said, grinning. Suddenly, that billion-coin price didn’t feel so wild.

He pulled up his status in his mind, the words glowing clear.

[Name: Renjiro Mikazuki]

[Identity: Elf King]

[Rank: Early Ninth-circle]

[Equipment: Elven Crown (Sealed Artifact), Trickster’s Reaper Ring]

[Unlocked Buildings: Eternal Tree, Battleborn Tree, Elunarian Spring, Hero Altar, Hunter’s Hall]

[Forces: 28,450 Archers, 10,380 Huntresses, 40 Elven Mages, 19 Swordsmen, 10 Giant Golems, 10 Ballistae]

[Boosted Units: Archers—Intermediate Power Boost; Huntresses—Intermediate Defense Boost]

[Gold Coins: 35]

"There’s a new ’Boosted Units’ part!" he said to himself. "And my elf army’s up to 40,000 strong!" Confidence bubbled in his chest. If this boosted crew couldn’t smash an ogre tribe of just 8,000, he might as well quit. "Lorien!"

She snapped to attention, her braid swinging. "Yes Your Majesty, your orders?"

"At dawn tomorrow, round up every fighter in the territory. We’re hitting the ogre tribe! With war, we’ll rip down the territory of those ogres!"

"Ah... Yes, Your Majesty!" Lorien’s voice rang out, sharp and ready.

The three commanders’ eyes blazed with excitement, their fists clenched tight.
