I Became My Elf King Character In A Game-Like World -
Chapter 28: Cute Little Thing
Chapter 28: Cute Little Thing
This battle against the Goblin Territory had gotten him 2,400,000 gold coins! It was an incredible loot.
If he spent it all on summoning Elven Archers, he could instantly amass an army of 24,000 elite archers—each one a master marksman with dual innate talents.
An army like that...? A sky-darkening rain of arrows that blotted out the sun...? Even imagining it sent shivers down his spine. Renjiro gathered his commanders.
"Form up the squads," he ordered. "We’re returning home."
Lorien, standing beside him, hesitated. "Your Majesty... what about the Goblin... Sheep?" She gestured toward the massive flock gathered near the collapsed city walls.
A sea of white stretched as far as the eye could see—over 30,000 transformed goblins, now bleating helplessly in their fluffy, wool-covered forms.
If they all tried to run at once, it could turn into a real headache. The elves nearby were already getting irritated by the endless chorus of "meeahh! Meeaahh!"
Renjiro frowned.
Elves preferred peace and quiet. If he brought thousands of noisy sheep back to the Elf Territory even he might lose sleep over it.
That was when Elaria chuckled.
"Your Majesty," she said with a knowing smile, "isn’t this underground cavern the perfect holding location? There’s only one fast-flowing underground river, and just three exit tunnels. If we block the exits, they won’t be able to escape."
Lorien frowned. "But... Elaria, sheep need grass to eat. There’s nothing down here for them. If we leave them too long, they’ll starve to death."
Renjiro, however, liked Elaria’s plan.
"Do as Elaria suggests," he decided. "We’ll keep them here. The human trade caravan will arrive in two days—they can take the goblin sheep off our hands then. Two or three days without food won’t kill them."
Lorien hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded.
"As you command, Your Majesty. I’ll assign a squad to guard the tunnel exits." With the decision made, the Elven Army assembled for departure.
As Renjiro and his troops marched toward the surface, they left behind a massive flock of helpless goblin sheep, bleating pitifully as they watched their captors leave.
"Meeaahh! Mmeeaahh!" They weren’t happy, but... they were still alive. That was what mattered. Even though they had been transformed into sheep by the evil Elf King, they still held hope.
As long as they lived, there was a chance to return to normal. Surely... this spell couldn’t last forever, right? Surely... But what they didn’t know... Was that Renjiro’s Sheep Blade was absolute.
Any creature below the certain Rank would be permanently transformed into a sheep. No magic. No divine spell. Nothing in existence could undo it, except for Renjiro himself.
And most importantly... The ’Evil’ Elf King had already decided to sell them to the human merchants.
Not out of cruelty... Just for a massive profit.
....
As Renjiro stepped out of the tunnel, he was immediately greeted by the towering figures of the Giant Golems standing guard at the entrance.
Their massive stone bodies were as solid as a fortress, their glowing eyes scanning the surroundings with unwavering vigilance.
These constructs were more than just sentinels; they were the most loyal defenders of his domain, carrying out his orders without hesitation.
Though the Giants worshipped a different deity—the Earth Goddess—their faith in Renjiro far surpassed any divine allegiance.
Even if a war were to break out between the followers of the Earth Goddess and the Elves in the future, these Giant Golems would not waver in their loyalty to him.
Seeing their master return, the Golems bowed with perfect discipline, performing the formal greeting of the Elves. "We welcome your return," they intoned, their deep voices echoing through the air.
Renjiro gave them a slight nod of approval before leading the army toward the heart of his territory. The march was orderly, with the disciplined Elven warriors moving in perfect formation.
Among them, the massive figure of the Ninth-circle Subterranean Dragon followed obediently. Despite its imposing size and deadly potential, the beast did not make any move to resist. It had long since abandoned any thought of escape.
The sight of the ten towering Giant Golems marching alongside Renjiro only reinforced its decision. Even with its draconic bloodline, it stood no chance against these overwhelming forces.
Besides, if it tried to flee, Renjiro would simply use that terrifying cursed weapon to turn it into a sheep again. The Dragon had no desire to experience such humiliation twice.
When they finally arrived at the Elven settlement, they were met with an eruption of joyous cheers.
The Elves who had remained behind—mostly the young and those not yet ready for battle—gathered around to welcome their warriors home.
Many of them were still children, their delicate features glowing with admiration as they gazed up at Renjiro, their sovereign and protector. To them, he was not only their king but their greatest hero.
A group of young Elven girls, barely past their toddler years, rushed up to him with excitement shining in their large, jewel-like eyes.
One of them, a tiny girl with Shiny hair and pointed ears peeking out from behind a cascade of soft curls, tugged on his sleeve.
"Your Majesty! Did we defeat the evil Goblins?" she asked, her voice sweet and full of anticipation.
Renjiro chuckled, scooping her up effortlessly into his arms. "Of course, we did. Did you think I would let them escape or win?"
The little girl’s eyes sparkled with admiration as she wrapped her small arms around his neck. "You’re amazing! I want to be strong like you one day!"
He smiled and ruffled her hair gently. "And what is your name, little one?"
"Vanya!" she declared proudly. "When I grow up, I want to be an Archer! I’ll protect everyone and fight the bad guys just like you!"
Renjiro’s expression softened at her cute expression. "That’s a noble dream, Vanya. Becoming a warrior isn’t easy, but if you work hard, I have no doubt that you’ll grow into a fine archer one day."
