Chapter 27 - 2.4 Million Gold Coins
Chapter 27: 2.4 Million Gold Coins
Poof!
One of the sheep expanded, its wool disappearing as its body morphed and stretched. Until the Subterranean Drake returned to its original form.
The massive beast hunched low, its golden reptilian eyes darting around in confusion. But the moment it laid eyes on Renjiro, It immediately shrank back.
A creature that had once been a mighty ninth-circle dragon beast now trembled like a frightened puppy.
Renjiro gazed at it indifferently.
"You are a ninth-circle drake, a creature with dragon’s blood flowing through your veins. It would be a waste to leave you as a sheep." He tilted his head slightly.
"In two days, a human trade caravan will arrive in my territory. I will sell you at a high price. That way, you can still be of some use."
A pause. Renjiro’s tone dropped to icy amusement.
"Of course, if you’d rather resist—" His grip tightened around the dagger. "I can simply turn you back into a sheep and sell you as meat."
"Guuuuh!!" The Subterranean Drake furiously nodded, its entire body shaking. It was a highly intelligent beast, fully aware of what awaited it if it refused.
Becoming a slave mount for a human noble? It could live with that. But being sold as livestock? Absolutely not.
Renjiro smirked. "Good." Then, he shifted his gaze to the other sheep. The one still shaking violently in terror. Rukk, the former goblin king.
Renjiro’s voice was calm.
"You were enslaved by this greedy goblin for years. I imagine you must hold some resentment." He pointed at the trembling wool-covered creature.
"You’re hungry, aren’t you? If so—eat."
"BAAA!!" Rukk screamed, his stubby legs scrambling desperately as he tried to run. But he wasn’t fast enough. The moment Renjiro gave the command. The Subterranean Drake lunged forward.
CRUNCH!
With a single bite, the enormous beast clamped its powerful jaws around Rukk’s helpless, plump body.
"BAAAA!!!" Rukk let out a final, agonized bleat as he was lifted off the ground—kicking, struggling, screaming—before being ravenously devoured.
Flesh and wool alike disappeared between the beast’s razor-sharp teeth. Within seconds—The great Goblin King Rukk was no more.
Renjiro watched the scene unfold with a cold, satisfied smirk. The king of the goblins—eaten alive by his own former mount.
A fitting end for ao ething filthy as Goblin King
.....
A Few Hours Later:
The Elven Army had completed its sweeping purge of the Goblin Territory.
Countless chests filled with gold and treasures were lined up in front of Renjiro, stacked neatly like a small mountain of wealth.
As per his usual practice, Renjiro absorbed all the gold directly into his system, while the remaining artifacts, gemstones, and rare magical resources were stored safely inside his spatial ring.
Once the human trade caravan arrived in the Elven Territory, these valuables would be sold off for an exorbitant price.
The Wealthiest Race on the Holy Continent? If you asked most people which race was the richest on the Continent, they would probably say dragons.
After all, dragons were obsessed with hoarding gold, gems, and all things shiny. Their lairs were legendary treasure vaults, and slaying a dragon didn’t just earn a hero fame and glory, it also instantly made them insanely rich.
But Renjiro knew better. There was one race that far surpassed the dragons in terms of wealth. The Humans.
The Continent was vast and prosperous, and humans ruled over most of it. They controlled countless fertile lands, endless gold and silver mines, and, most importantly, they minted the very coins that all races used for trade.
When it came to wealth. Who could possibly compete with the humans? And among them, the human trade caravans were the epitome of extreme wealth.
They traveled with gold by the ton, moving across the land like walking fortresses of fortune. The phrase ’wealthier than a kingdom’ wasn’t just an exaggeration, it was literally true for some of the most powerful merchant guilds.
But things were different now. The Elf Territory had regained its Moonwell—the sacred, magical spring that empowered their lands. Because of this, the humans could no longer exploit or suppress the elves through unfair trade.
Instead, Renjiro planned to turn the tables.
The human nobles had an insatiable hunger for elven craftsmanship. They craved enchanted weapons, delicate jewelry, and magic-infused artifacts—all of which were superior to anything their own artisans could create.
And now—
With the spoils of war from the Goblin Territory, including rare magical gems, high-quality silverware, and powerful mana cores— Renjiro was about to bleed the human trade caravans dry.
At that moment, Renjiro heard a familiar voice ring in his head—
[Ding! Congratulations, User! You have successfully eradicated the greedy Goblin Territory!]
[Total loot acquired: 2,400,000 gold coins!]
[Ding! Newbie Mission 3 has been completed!]
[Heroic Altar has been unlocked!]
[User, please return to the Elven Domain and construct the Heroic Altar! Every hero that emerges from the altar will become a future pillar of the Elven Empire!]
Renjiro could hardly contain his excitement—he was eager to return to home as soon as possible.
Once the Heroic Altar was built, Elaria, Lorien, Selena, and Lirael would be able to ascend as Heroes Class, gaining incredible power far beyond ordinary normal class warriors.
This was a game-changer.
"Hmmmm," Renjiro hummed, gripping his golden dagger, "Can I become an Elven Hero too?" he asked a question in his mind.
[User is the ruler of the future Elf Empire. Leading from the front lines is not the duty of a King.]
"...So that’s a no?" Renjiro wasn’t too disappointed.
Elaria was his future wife aka Elf Queen. Lorien, Selena, and Lirael were his most trusted generals—their loyalty to him was good. Whether he became a Hero class or they did, it didn’t really matter. Their strength was his strength.
Besides—
Renjiro had the Elf System. He could get legendary weapons and artifacts through missions, just like the divine weapon he now wielded, the dagger which was in his possession.
With daggers like that, his power was already on par with an Hero class at least.
That wasn’t all. This battle against the Goblin Territory had gotten him 2,400,000 gold coins! It was an incredible loot.
