Chapter 111: Magical Power
Chapter 111: Magical Power
A Shapeshifting Sage wasn’t just a tough tank, but also helped out with support and healing on the side.
Before the ancient Treants started being summoned in huge numbers, the Shapeshifting Sage were known as the elves’ tough ’bear protectors.’
Renjiro considered this carefully.
Looking at the 4.39 million gold coins he had, he made his decision: Summon one thousand Spirits of the Grove and one thousand Shapeshifting Sage. Whatever gold was left would be used to summon Giant Golems.
He gave the order to the system.
"System, follow the summoning plan I just decided on!"
[Acknowledged, User!]
As the system responded, Renjiro saw his gold count hit rock bottom almost instantly.
Over four million gold coins disappeared, leaving just a tiny amount behind.
Barely enough to count on two hands.
Immediately, a bright golden light shot out from between Renjiro’s eyebrows and flew straight into the Wisdom Tree.
At the same time, the massive trunk of the Elder Wisdom Tree began to shake.
A soft green glow started pulsing from it.
This change didn’t go unnoticed by the nearby elves, Giant Golems, and Treeants.
"I feel the presence of our kin!"
"Me too! And there are so many!"
"Hmph, looks like His Majesty summoned more than just Giant Golems and Treeants this time! Ah, the sturdy Shapeshifting Sage are here too!"
"Hey, we Giant Golems are sturdy too! And our shoulders are nice and broad!"
"Yeah, but you’re ugly!"
As everyone watched...
Dazzling beams of light flew out from the Wisdom Elder Tree.
Some beams hit the ground directly, while others hung in the air.
Quickly, all the light condensed, taking shape.
There stood Giant Golems easily over twenty meters tall, powerful Shapeshifting Sage that looked like muscular, upright bears, and graceful Spirits of the Grove holding magical staffs.
In just a few moments...
The area all around the ancient Tree of Knowledge was packed solid with these three types of units.
They were absolutely everywhere.
The nearby elven archers and hunters, who Renjiro had mostly summoned before, weren’t too surprised. They just cheered, excited by the reinforcements.
But Elaria and the three elven army captains were different.
This incredible, almost magical scene made their faces go pale with shock and awe.
They had seen Renjiro summon elves before, sure, but this was completely different. He wasn’t just summoning regular elves now, but Spirits of the Grove, Shapeshifting Sage, and those terrifyingly strong Giant Golems.
And the number of them was just unbelievable.
A quick glance around told the story.
The air seemed thick with the elegant, staff-wielding Spirits of the Grove.
On the ground, one side was a dense block of powerful, bear-like Shapeshifting Sage. The other side was dominated by a huge crowd of Giant Golems, so incredibly tall they had to tilt their heads way back to see the tops. There looked to be about three hundred of them.
Elaria took a sharp breath, "Your Majesty... did you summon all of these?"
She didn’t quite recognize the bear-like creatures, but she definitely knew the Giant Golems. She knew just how strong they were – every single one at the peak of the Ninth Circle.
She had been stunned when Renjiro first summoned just ten Giant Golems.
But this... this time, he had summoned hundreds of them.
This many Giant Golems... it was probably enough force to challenge a bone dragon.
Renjiro simply nodded.
"With them," he said calmly, "our elves will be much safer."
The words had barely left his mouth...
When Renjiro suddenly felt a massive surge of magical power welling up inside his own body.
According to the system, every time he summoned an elf unit, the system sent a surge of magical power into him. The stronger the unit, the bigger the boost. This time, he’d called forth high-level units—massive Giant Golems from the Ninth Circle and now Ancient Treants. The magic flooding through him was like a roaring river, so strong it made his skin tingle and his heart pound.
Elaria stepped forward, her hair catching the light. She opened her mouth to speak. "Your Majesty, those—"
"Wait!" Renjiro cut her off, his voice sharp. He dropped to the ground, crossing his legs in one smooth motion.
Closing his eyes, he slipped into a deep meditative trance, using secret Royal Elf techniques passed down through generations.
The world around him faded— the hum of wisps, the rustle of leaves, the murmurs of elves—all gone.
He focused inward, feeling the vast magical power swirling inside him, like a storm begging to be tamed. He breathed slowly, guiding the energy through his body, letting it strengthen his core.
Elaria and the three elf commanders—Selena, Lorien, and Lirael—stood nearby, their eyes wide with shock. "Is His Majesty... breaking through again?" Lorien whispered, her voice trembling with awe.
Selena nodded, his stern face softening. "He was only at the Sixth Circle during the goblin battle."
Lirael crossed his arms, frowning. "That was less than half a month ago. He hit the early Ninth Circle already. And now... another breakthrough?"
Elaria stared at Renjiro, her calm mask hiding a storm of doubt. Even for a Royal Elf with divine blood, this is too fast, she thought. No one advances this quickly. It’s... unnatural. She took a deep breath, steadying herself.
"Well," she said aloud, her voice firm, "His Majesty growing stronger is always good for us."
The commanders nodded eagerly. "Elaria’s right!" Selena said, his gruff voice warm with pride.
Lorien smiled. "The stronger he is, the safer we are."
Lirael grunted in agreement, though his eyes lingered on Renjiro, a flicker of unease in them. They were happy—truly—but the speed of his growth felt almost too perfect, like something beyond normal magic.
In the clearing, the newly summoned Ancient Treants stood tall, their gnarled branches swaying like arms ready for battle.
The Giant Golems, their stone bodies gleaming, mingled with the earlier recruits—elves with bows, unicorns with glowing horns.
A quiet joy passed between them, like old friends meeting again. They nodded to each other, their bond as allies strong and unspoken.
