Chapter 427: Chapter 424: The emergence of Zombie Dragon_1
The colossal creature roared, its white eyes staring at Su Sigui, as diminutive as an ant. The limb on its abdomen, sharp as a blade, swung fiercely at her!
"A level 5 zombie... No! It’s the Dragon of Zhiyang Lake, zombified!"
Su Sigui immediately recognized what the creature was. She was surprised, but not overly bothered by the level 5 zombie. After all, her true adversaries were the Zombie King and his henchman – the Tyrant!
The Zombie Dragon charged towards her, its belly scraping the ground and leaving a deep trench in its wake. When it was close enough, it opened its massive maw to bite at her!
"Get lost!"
With her fractured blade raised, Su Sigui forged ahead. Her amber eyes glowed with a lust for blood and an extraordinary determination. Her frail form seemed lonely amidst the endless sea of zombies. Her subordinates were nowhere in sight...
The gargantuan body of the Zombie Dragon obscured her view. She failed to notice the silhouette lurking behind it, grinning sinisterly.
Xu Haishui pressed his palms together at that moment. His eyes, which had inexplicably turned from white to black, were ominously unfathomable.
Unseen waves radiated from his mind, a spectral light flickering in his eyes, piercing through the Zombie Dragon towards whatever lay in front.
"Shit!"
Before it made contact, Su Sigui sensed something was amiss. She thought of the mental type zombie and quickly pivoted, pulling back.
She hadn’t gone far when she felt her mind being cleaved, leaving a brief void. Her movement halted.
The Zombie Dragon and the Zombie King bore down on her simultaneously – one with its enormous mouth open, the other with his black sword, both intent on taking her down with all they’ve got.
Up on the roof, Tang Ye pitched his smoked-out cigarette and turned to Ah Fu. "Do you think we’re being a bit harsh, bullying a girl like this?"
Though his words seemed remorseful, his face betrayed no such sentiment. Su Sigui was too wily, a bane that Tang Ye never wished to encounter again!
She had seemingly deployed her army and prepared her ambush just to deal with him. This both confused and unnerved Tang Ye – why would she go to such lengths?
This meeting with Su Sigui gave him a dangerous sense of looming conspiracy. She seemed to be waiting for him! But why? What was her motive?
The convoluted mystery left Tang Ye uneasy. He resolved to eliminate her, regardless of her gender.
Ah Fu, failing to comprehend Tang Ye’s remark, wore a baffled expression.
The black sword hurtled towards her with an unstoppable momentum. The air parted with every slash, creating a fierce whirlwind.
Her severed thoughts were mended instantly. Snapping out of her daze, she instinctively scanned her surroundings and sensed a massive force approaching from behind!
She hurriedly spun around to parry with her blade.
Clang!
The clamour of clashing metal echoed. Wild gusts disturbed the dust and debris around them.
The black sword fell with an immense force, unyieldingly pushing Su Sigui into the ground. The jarring impact numbed her hand, pain searing so aggressively that she was left breathless.
With every excruciating wave of pain that washed over her, she felt the Zombie King’s power intensifying. With no choice left, she reluctantly hefted her blade to counter his force!
But with both hands engaged in fending off the Zombie King’s onslaught, she couldn’t muster any resistance against the oncoming Zombie Dragon.
She tried to draw her blade back, but the Zombie King’s muscles exploded with power. His silvery skin shone ominously under the daylight.
Her body sunk further into the ground!
Crack!
Her already damaged blade couldn’t bear the combined force any longer and snapped into two, shards of it scattering around her.
"No time."
With no option left, Su Sigui withdrew her blade just as the Zombie King’s black sword struck her shoulder. Fortunately, the brunt of the impact was absorbed in the prior clash; the blade merely buried itself four or five centimeters deep into her flesh.
Roar!
As the Zombie Dragon charged towards her, she swung her extracted blade to parry the hand the Zombie King had stretched out!
Boom!
A muffled sound resonated as the Zombie Dragon swooped past the Zombie King, striking with all its force.
Tang Ye’s eyes narrowed as he quickly deciphered her strategy. He flipped his hand over, digging his nails deep into the wound he’d inflicted on her shoulder.
With a violent yank, a huge chunk of Su Sigui’s flesh - along with part of her clothing - was torn away. She was thrown backward with an alarming force.
In the middle of her fall, a grappling hook from her utility belt locked onto a structure. The line retracted, pulling her to safety.
Each nerve in her body screamed with torturous pain. Su Sigui drew a sharp cold breath, glancing at her shoulder - now missing a sizable chunk of flesh. A large patch of skin had also been forcibly torn off by the Zombie King.
"Run!"
The thought flashed through her mind. She realized that she could not deal with the Zombie King today. She made a tactical retreat, knowing that humans couldn’t win a war of attrition against zombies. That would be sheer foolishness!
Her grappling hook fastened onto a building as Su Sigui shot through the air like a butterfly. Blood from her wound tainted Tang Ye’s hand. He raised his hand and licked it.
"Hmm... Not bad."
The Peacekeepers resembled zombies, but weren’t zombies themselves. They were just treated as kin by the zombies, a fact evident when the zombies retreated as soon as she displayed her full strength as a Peacekeeper.
Despite that, her flesh tasted like a human’s - albeit somewhat astringent, at least by Tang Ye’s perception.
Eyeing Su Sigui make her escape, Tang Ye couldn’t let her off that easily.
The black fog within him swelled immediately and the Zombie King Tang Ye levitated, transforming into a beam of light hot on her pursuit.
Su Sigui dropped down, her eyes tranquil. As she descended, the Zombie King accelerated. He twisted the black sword in his hand and, without hesitation, aimed straight at the rope dangling her in the air.
Zap...
The sky was now completely shrouded by dark clouds, casting a gloomy pallor upon the earth. Tang Ye severed the rope, and Su Sigui, like a kite with its string cut, was helplessly carried off by her momentum.
She shot a glance at the Zombie King with a smile in her eyes that irked Tang Ye. Realisation dawned upon him - he had been played.
Su Sigui could have used the momentum to fly off further, yet why did she choose to descend? Wasn’t it to trick him into cutting her lifeline?
"Fuck!"
He cursed under his breath and a surge of black fog enveloped him. A multitude of dark tentacles whipped from his back and he dove after her, persisting in his chase!
Meanwhile, Xu Tianyu, as if on cue, spared Tang Ye a glance before turning towards the direction where the soldiers were, putting distance between him and Ah Fu.
