Chapter 187: Chapter 185: Leaving Home_1
After Ah Fu tossed the Level 2 zombie into the barricade, he scanned his surroundings. Seeing no other zombies of interest, he looked at a Level 1 Speed Zombie that was running by.
Groar!
Ah Fu growled at the zombie, causing it to freeze in fear. Ah Fu strode towards it, grabbing its frail body with his massive hand and tossed it into the barricade again.
"Quick! It’s throwing zombies at us! Attack it first!"
"Kill it!!!"
"Attack! Kill that Level 3 zombie first!"
The soldiers and officers were panicked, unloading relentless barrages of bullets and shells at Ah Fu.
Under the bombardment, the number of zombie corpses began to pile up, effectively blocking the path for the incoming zombies and slowing their advance.
Shells exploded around Ah Fu. Though he was not seriously injured, the explosions seemed to agitate him. Tang Ye’s orders to him were to throw zombies, especially high-level ones, into the base.
While Tang Ye had given the order, whether Ah Fu could understand it or not was another matter. Noticing that the other evolved zombies were far away, Ah Fu started to throw randomly.
As a high-level zombie, Ah Fu could identify the levels of his zombie kind, but his intelligence did not allow for comprehensive understanding.
Grabbing a random zombie, Ah Fu hurled it into Yindan Base. However, it hit the ground head-first and died on impact before it could even reach any humans.
But Ah Fu didn’t care. He continued to throw more zombies. Soon, numerous zombies were flying through the air into the base. Some fell dead upon landing, while others, luckier ones, managed to get up and charged towards the soldiers on the barricade.
This also managed to divert some of the soldiers’ attention.
The thrown zombies wreaked havoc within the base. However, their numbers were small, and most were shot in the head and killed while attempting to climb to top of the barricade. Some of them were attracted by the survivors inside the buildings, madly pounding on the doors.
Ah Fu continued to throw zombies into the base, driving the soldiers to utter desperation. Their continuous bombardment proved to be a headache, either Ah Fu dodged them or even when they direct hit, it didn’t guarantee a kill. The earlier damage gradually healed over time.
Then, a Level 2 Speed Zombie appeared on the street and rushed towards the barricade. As it ran past Ah Fu, he caught it in one hand and violently hurled it into the base.
Boom!
Just after he had thrown it, a shell slammed into Ah Fu’s chest, pushing his massive body back several meters before exploding, resulting in a burst of blood mist. Ah Fu fell to the ground, growling. As he struggled to stand, it was clear that a large chunk of his chest has been blown away.
Rumble!
Another shell exploded beside him, sending Ah Fu flying sideways again.
In the eyes of the three, Tang Ye who had been shaking his ears rapidly, suddenly opened eyes widely, then shut them. Just now, Ah Fu sent him information about his serious injury.
Without thinking, Tang Ye replied, "Retreat for now and hide in a building until you find an opportunity."
Whether Ah Fu could understand him or not, Tang Ye couldn’t bother to care at this point. If he could understand, then all was good. If not, it wouldn’t matter if he died.
The moment Ah Fu received Tang Ye’s message, he bolted from his spot, tearing through the hordes of zombies underneath, taking shelter in a corner.
The Level 2 Speed Zombie that he had thrown into the base earlier was near the barricade, emitting a shrill "gaga" sound as it began to climb the barricade.
"Damn, there’s a Level 2 zombie that has been thrown in!" A soldier noticed the situation below and urgently alerted his comrades.
Several soldiers quickly reloaded and turned to look at the other side of the barricade. Seeing the Level 2 zombie, they swiftly started firing at it.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang...!
Bullets hit its face, but the zombie raised a claw to shield itself while its powerful grasshopper-like legs propelled it swiftly, changing direction amidst the gunfire.
"Kill it!"
"Attack!"
"Take it down!"
...
A faint relief crossed Tang Ye’s face, seeing that Ah Fu understood his command. He had managed to save one of his important pieces.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud...
At this moment, chaotic footsteps could be heard from outside. Tang Ye opened his eyes.
"It looks like... we’ve been discovered."
Thump! Thump! Thump!
"Hello, anyone inside? Please come out."
Outside the door, soldiers with guns remained on standby. They had been lured by Tang Ye’s roar earlier. Looking at the solid security door, they couldn’t help but feel nervous.
They’d received news of a suspected Level 3 zombie inside the base, and the sound of the zombie originated from this place. With only this one door left, they had every reason to be nervous.
The thought of the strength a Level 3 zombie possesses was more than enough to strike fear into them.
Upon hearing Tang Ye’s words, the three of them exchanged glances, a grim chill in their eyes, each picking their weapons getting ready to fight.
Tang Ye gestured for them to prepare their belongings and walked out by himself.
Thud! Thud!
"Anyone there?"
Seeing no response from inside, the soldier delegated to knocking tapped the security door once more. But just as he finished knocking, Tang Ye charged forward and kicked the door with all his might.
Boom!
The sturdy security door was warped and deformed under Tang Ye’s tremendous strength. The hinges "snapped" and broke, and the entire door flew away, hitting the soldiers who were stationed right outside.
Bang!
The soldiers in the corridor were caught off guard when the nearly two-meter-high door hit them. They flew right into the opposite wall with their guns, dead on the spot!
"Damn, prepare to fight!"
Successive sounds of gun bolts cocking echoed, and soldiers from the staircases quickly emerged. But as they lifted their guns to shoot, Tang Ye’s one arm quickly split into numerous tentacles, filling the entire corridor.
The soldiers who entered the corridor did not even have a chance to scream before being killed by Tang Ye.
"Go up all! Everybody up!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A line of muzzles fired at Tang Ye’s tentacles, spraying blood. However, Tang Ye had already noticed their presence and a flap of his left-hand tentacles swiftly swept in their direction. In the ensuing struggle, the soldiers on the stairs were swiftly dealt with.
Upon hearing the commotion from above, the soldiers below quickly moved forward to provide support.
Tang Ye led the three men and Nannan out. Upon encountering the supporting soldiers on the second floor, gunshots rang out again.
Chen Chaoyang opened fire, forcing the soldiers below to retreat.
