Chapter 1528: Chapter 1523 First Introduction

"Hey, what’s wrong? Is there something outside?"

Seeing Tang Ye only stick out half of his body before starting to space out, Bick couldn’t help but ask, though he lowered his voice a lot as if realizing something.

"There’s someone." Tang Ye calmly replied, unconcerned inside.

"Did they see you?" Bick quickly asked again.

"I don’t know, they’re quite far from me."

"Come down, hurry down!"

Bick seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, frantically pulling on the rope to signal Tang Ye to jump down, and according to his request, Tang Ye could only return to the sewer.

"Shh~ don’t make a sound. Let’s wait until that person leaves. We’ll stay here, take this, and if that guy dares to stick his head down here, smash him!"

Bick casually picked up a piece of rebar still attached to hardened cement from the wet ground and handed it to Tang Ye as a weapon, then the two waited in the sewer, their bodies pressed against the wall, eyes fixed on the sewer entrance. It was clear that Bick was not joking, if the passerby actually stuck their head in, a swing of the crowbar was no joke!

Considering his level of precaution, yet his attitude towards Tang Ye was entirely different.

The footsteps of the passerby became clearer and gradually, the person was right above them. It must be said, it’s unclear whether that person was blind or had some issues with their brain, as they seemed to not notice the manhole cover that had been opened and just passed right over their heads, then the footsteps grew fainter.

"Hmm?" Bick uttered puzzledly, clearly not understanding the actions of the person above, and as the footsteps started to blur, he quickly climbed halfway up the sewer ladder, sticking out his head to look outside, seemingly making out the identity of the passerby. Bick said with a wry smile, "I thought it was someone else."

Saying this, he pulled his entire body out of the sewer, then reached down to Tang Ye saying, "Come up, grab these two ropes."

Tang Ye followed him out and looked in the direction where the passerby had gone. The person was wearing a pair of black pants, no, not black pants!

Tang Ye immediately recognized who it was, it was the crazy woman he had encountered after coming out from traveler number two that day; he hadn’t expected to see her here.

"Who is that?" Tang Ye deliberately asked Bick, predictably, Bick’s answer was not far off from what he thought.

"A lunatic, you see her around often. I don’t know many people in this city, other than you who I just met, it’s her."

"Why did she become like this?"

"Oh, I really envy the peace in China, but I am very willing to be your survival teacher here. Honestly, I don’t know what happened to that woman, but I can tell you, it’s very dangerous for a woman to walk on the streets here by themselves. She must have gone through unimaginable torment to have become like this, don’t think of her as pitiful, her being alive is already the biggest fortune, many women here get caught by men, and the result... you’re a man, I believe you know the answer to that."

"I’m still a bit curious."

"Hahaha, that’s a curiosity every man has, but unfortunately, I don’t know the specifics."

"Well, maybe we shouldn’t stand here making fun of other people’s tragic experiences."

"True."

"So how are you going to deal with the stuff below?"

"That’s easy."

Bick took the two rope ends from Tang Ye’s hands, separated them, then handed one back to Tang Ye.

"Hold tight."

Having said that, Bick walked backwards with the other end of the rope towards a street lamp, using all his might to tie the rope around it, then he returned to the sewer, untied the ropes that were tied to a plank, and tied them each to the middle of the plank’s two ends, then he climbed out of the sewer.

"Come on, let’s pull it up together!"

He shouted to Tang Ye, finally pulling up the rope tied to the street lamp, and as both exerted force, the plank from the sewer was slowly pulled up, revealing the entrance to the sewer, and the backpack emerged.

"Hold steady, buddy, I’m letting go!" Bick shouted again to Tang Ye.

He didn’t speak, just nodded, and Bick carefully released his hand the next second.

"Nice! Very good!"

Seeing that the plank did not drop down, Bick shouted excitedly at Tang Ye, but mindful of something, he immediately looked around to ensure no one was around, then gestured a thumbs-up towards Tang Ye.

He quickly ran to the entrance of the sewer, panting as he dragged the cylindrical backpack filled with iron pieces to the ground.

"All good, buddy, nicely done!"

After praising Tang Ye, Bick gestured for him to help move the cylindrical backpack filled with things.

"The noise I made just now was a bit loud, it might attract some ill-intentioned guys, we need to hurry up, you’re strong, you go ahead and pull, I’ll push from behind."

Bick’s request was not turned down by Tang Ye; together, they strenuously dragged the cylindrical backpack off the roadside into the Building Group until they managed to pull it behind the alley of the apartment building Bick lived in, finally completing the task.

"That’ll do, no one will find it here."

Bick let out a long breath, covered the cylindrical backpack with some random items, and then addressed Tang Ye.

Tang Ye glanced around. The previous two times he had come here, it had been in this place that he encountered Bick. Because of his involvement, Bick had prepared all this before it got dark, whereas without his help, Bick would have hidden the cylindrical backpack in this spot after it turned dark.

"Let’s go, let’s go up and see my family; we need a break."

Not staying any longer, Bick led Tang Ye upstairs, and before they reached Bick’s front door, Bick knocked, and soon, the door was opened, revealing his wife’s face. Seeing Tang Ye, a stranger, predictably, her first reaction was shock, followed by a surprised look towards Bick.

"He is..." she asked Bick in the local language, however, Bick didn’t answer but instead introduced her to Tang Ye: "As you can see, this is my wife, Ariana."

"Oh." Tang Ye nodded, acknowledging that Bick had introduced his wife’s name for the first time, but it seemed not to be her full name?

Following that, Bick spoke something to his wife in the local language, seemingly explaining his origins, and after inviting him in, Tang Ye sat on the living room sofa, while Bick was pulled into the bedroom by his wife...
