Chapter 1496: Chapter 1491: Under the Watch of the "Giant" 2
Tang Ye just stood there, quietly watching the figure performing in the distance. His pause might have lasted several minutes, or perhaps several hours, but no matter how long he stayed, the "silhouette" running ahead didn’t become blurry due to the distance. It was as clear now as it was before he stopped.
It seemed that the other party would move only if he did, and their speed matched his own. Could it be that there was actually no need at all for him to chase after this guy? But Tang Ye didn’t know what the bizarre "silhouette" meant—was it luring him into a trap, or guiding him to the right place?
Unable to be sure, he refrained from any rash action.
After watching for a while, Tang Ye glanced back at the door and considered returning. But then he looked once more at the silhouette, which seemed to be fruitlessly running on the spot, like an ordinary person desperately trying to escape from trouble yet powerless to do so.
Just as Tang Ye was about to head back, he hesitated again, a thought so incredible it startled even himself. Yet for some reason, Tang Ye felt it was deliberate, as if someone was desperately trying to conceal a truth from him.
"No, when did I become so cowardly?"
He immediately changed his mind and decided to follow the literal "silhouette" to see where it would lead him.
Then, Tang Ye moved forward again, but this time, he did not chase; he simply walked step by step following the silhouette ahead of him. As he walked, he observed the ground and noticed no silhouette graffiti, but something else that seemed off: many bottle cap-sized spirals on the ground, with a few sparse black plants growing at places.
These plants were peculiar, neither grass nor flowers, just something like black sticks poking out of the ground.
But Tang Ye only gave them a glance and didn’t dwell on it. As he and the silhouette kept moving forward, a steep slope appeared in front of them, with an incline of at least one hundred degrees. Logically, the slope would require climbing to ascend, not something one could walk up leisurely.
However, he saw the silhouette walking normally as if gravity didn’t affect it, walking on the wall. Indeed, the place didn’t disappoint him, as the gravity changed after he climbed up, allowing him to stand steadily on the walls without falling off!
This slope wasn’t really that long, only just over a hundred meters, and Tang Ye quickly crossed this distance. After climbing up, he saw a wall of flesh-pink colour blocking every path ahead.
"So there’s no way through now, huh?"
Tang Ye didn’t stop, and kept moving forward to see how the silhouette would choose, and of course, there was a chance it would continue to walk normally upward on the wall.
But as the silhouette approached the flesh-pink wall, a spiral appeared on the wall which then spread outwards, eventually revealing a hole. The interior of the hole was a deep red, looking from afar like the muscle fibers beneath human skin.
Without any hesitation, the silhouette darted through, sprinting towards the exit of this opening. Although it was sprinting, its speed was no different from Tang Ye’s normal walking pace.
The inside of the hole was not very long, just tens of meters, and shortly after, Tang Ye followed the silhouette out from the opening. Upon exit, the path became steep immediately, leading to a slope inclining at over a hundred degrees downward.
This scene felt familiar. Tang Ye glanced behind him and felt that the slope he had just ascended was the same, with the angle of inclination being identical. However, he couldn’t help but feel the presence of a monstrous being beside him, akin to the time he faced the Water Guanyin.
While he was lost in thought, the silhouette ahead suddenly sped up, its figure quickly receding into the distance as it ran down the path.
"F*ck!"
Tang Ye was taken aback at first, then quickly came to his senses and chased after it. When he reached the slope, he intended to jump down, but because the gravity had shifted, his jump resulted in nothing—he had to give chase at his fastest speed to catch up with the figure.
In front of him, Tang Ye saw another massive platform. The silhouette ran onto it and suddenly disappeared. Tang Ye arrived shortly after, frowning as he scanned the area. The figure had vanished into thin air as if evaporated suddenly, leaving nothing but the flesh-pink platform under his feet and darkness all around. He reached out to touch the darkness, finding nothing but an extremely dark wall that caused a visual illusion, clueless about how the figure had disappeared.
"What on earth does this mean?"
Tang Ye carefully observed the surroundings but found no clues. Suddenly, his eyes fell on the spirals on the ground and, as if realizing something, he knelt down and touched them.
"This is strange..."
The baffling feeling grew stronger, and suddenly he realized something and abruptly looked up. In that moment, the peculiar space became "bright", and he saw a massive head.
The head belonged to a girl with long, black hair; however, her face resembled that of the Lan Ou European people, with blue eyes that seemed to twinkle like stars.
Moving his gaze downward, under that gigantic head, he saw the neck, the torso—it was a giantess!
The places he had been following the silhouette through were all parts of this giantess’ body. He had passed from one of her hands to her head and then to her other hand, and the huge platform turned out to be the palm of her hand!
Upon seeing her true form, three words flashed through Tang Ye’s mind!
"Dairya!"
Tang Ye looked at her, and she was also looking at Tang Ye, her eyes devoid of any emotion. She had her hands outstretched, and after a while, she slowly drew in one hand. Tang Ye did not act rashly; despite the harmless appearance of this giant little girl, she was, in fact, the most dangerous Zombie King in the world!
Suddenly, as Tang Ye watched her, the giantess—whether she was Dairya or not—tilted her head and made a sound as though speaking a language from some country, but Tang Ye couldn’t understand it at all.
"What did you say?"
Dairya tilted her head again and uttered another phrase; the words sounded somewhat familiar to Tang Ye, like the commonly used English before the Apocalypse, but Tang Ye, who only knew a smattering of English, still couldn’t understand.
