Chapter 75: The Emergence of the Vampire Epidemic

Adam turned on the TV with a casual flick of the remote. The screen came to life, displaying a live news broadcast.

A reporter stood in front of a chaotic hospital scene, his voice tense, his eyes betraying the gravity of the situation.

"This just in," the reporter announced, gripping the microphone tightly. "Since last night, we’ve seen an alarming surge in casualties. This epidemic is being called the Vampire Virus. Infected individuals violently attack others, spreading the contagion through bites and sharing their blood. Authorities are overwhelmed."

Behind him, the chaos unfolded. Ambulances screeched to a halt as restrained patients, their faces covered and limbs bound, were carried into the hospital.

Police officers formed a tense perimeter, their eyes darting nervously toward the growing crowd of infected individuals.

The camera panned to show a horrifying sight: men and women with glowing red eyes, elongated fangs protruding from their mouths, rushing at the police.

One officer fired his weapon, the bullet striking an infected man squarely in the chest. For a moment, the attacker staggered.

Then, before the officer’s horrified eyes, the wound healed instantly, the bullet falling uselessly to the ground.

"Stay in your homes!" the reporter pleaded, his voice rising over the din.

"I repeat, do not leave your houses! This epidemic has spread across the nation. The infected are highly dangerous—"

Adam’s grip on the remote slackened as the device slipped from his hand and clattered to the floor.

His eyes remained glued to the screen, disbelief etched on his face.

First-Person Perspective (FFP)

"What the hell is happening?" I muttered, my voice barely audible over the noise of the TV.

This was worse than I could have imagined. The footage played over and over in my head: the infected attacking, their wounds healing in seconds. How could this happen? How could the world spiral into chaos so quickly?

My heart raced as another realization hit me like a lightning bolt. My parents—they had left this morning! A surge of panic coursed through me.

"SOONA!" I shouted, my voice cracking.

Sona appeared instantly, her golden aura shimmering faintly as she teleported to my side. Her sharp, elfin features were tense as she took in my expression.

"Lord Adam?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.

"Sona, listen carefully," I said, gripping her shoulders. "You need to go to my parents right now and protect them. No matter what, they must be safe."

She tilted her head, confusion flashing in her dark eyes. "But, Lord Adam, your parents are in two separate locations. I can only protect one at a time."

Her words struck me like a blow. My frustration boiled over, but I forced myself to think. There had to be a solution—had to. My gaze fell to the floor as an idea sparked.

I extended my hand toward the ground. "Creation of New Life!" I commanded.

A glowing purple window appeared before me, the words

written in elegant script. Without hesitation, I pressed Yes.

Energy surged through me, crackling like a live wire.

This time, the sensation wasn’t as overwhelming as before, though I could still feel it pulling from the very core of my being. Before me, a small golden sphere emerged, pulsating with light.

The golden sphere began to grow, radiating warmth as it shifted and changed. Its form stretched, taking on a humanoid shape.

Slowly, it transformed into a male fairy with striking features: deep black eyes, sleek dark hair, and a powerful frame.

Unlike Sona’s delicate golden wings, his wings were a shimmering gold streaked with hints of silver, beating rapidly to keep him suspended in the air.

His attire was just as striking—deep blue robes that seemed to shift like ocean waves, paired with sturdy, almost knight-like boots of the same hue.

Soona hovered beside him, her eyes widening in awe. "He’s alive," she whispered, flying closer to the newly formed spirit.

She reached out, gently tapping his head. Golden energy flowed from her into him, solidifying his presence.

The new fairy blinked, his large black eyes locking onto mine. "Lord Adam," he said, his voice deep and steady, "grant me a name."

My mind raced. There was no time to waste. "Your name is Toshiba," I declared.

A glow surrounded him as the name took hold. His stature increased slightly, his wings growing more luminous.

Now, he stood taller than Sona, his presence exuding strength and confidence.

"Sona, Toshiba," I said firmly, "you both need to find my parents and protect them. No matter what happens, they must stay safe. Do you understand?"

Both spirits bowed in unison. "As you command, Lord Adam," they said before vanishing in twin flashes of gold.

Adam turned back to the TV, his stomach churning.

The footage had grown even more disturbing. The infected had overpowered the police, breaking through their defensive line.

Some officers had been turned into vampires themselves, their monstrous forms now attacking the hospital alongside the others.

The reporter tried to retreat, his voice trembling as he continued his broadcast.

"They’ve breached the hospital! I repeat, the vampires have breached—"

Before he could finish, an infected lunged at him, its fangs sinking into his neck.

The camera captured every horrific detail as the reporter collapsed, convulsing, and then rose moments later, his eyes glowing red.

Adam clenched his fists, his mind a storm of anger and helplessness.

His phone buzzed loudly, breaking the silence. Adam snatched it up, seeing Leo’s name on the screen.

"Adam, did you see the news?" Leo’s voice was frantic.

"Yeah," Adam replied, trying to keep his tone steady.

"Are your parents still at home?"

Adam hesitated. "No... they left earlier."

"Then call them! Bring them back immediately!" Leo shouted.

"I’ve already taken care of it," Adam lied, not wanting to burden his friend further.

Leo sighed in relief. "Good. My parents canceled their plans to go out after seeing this. Man, what the hell is going on?"

"I don’t know," Adam said, his voice heavy. "I’ll talk to you later, Leo. Take care."

As soon as he hung up, the phone rang again. This time, it was Ani.

"Adam, I’m so sorry I missed your earlier call!" she said, her voice tinged with guilt. "I was trying to get my dad to come back home."

"It’s fine," Adam said, his tone softening.

"Did you manage to stop your parents?" Ani asked.

"No," Adam admitted.

"Adam, you need to get them back!" she urged. "It’s not safe out there. This... whatever it is, it’s spreading fast. Promise me you’ll bring them home."

"I’m working on it," Adam said.

Ani sighed, her voice tinged with relief. "Alright. Be careful, okay?"

"You too," Adam replied before ending the call.

---

Adam set the phone down, his mind racing. The world was unraveling, and every passing second felt like an eternity.

He turned back to the TV, dreading what new horrors might await.
