Chapter 299: PLEASE SKIP THIS Chapter
_______________________________
Hey everyone,
I have to post this message with a very heavy heart because I’ve made a huge mistake, and I am incredibly sorry for it.
I somehow managed to upload a completely wrong set of Chapters. Everything from Chapter 292 all the way to Chapter 313 is incorrect and has nothing to do with our main storyline. I can only imagine how confusing this must have been for all of you, and I am truly ashamed of this error.
So, this is what I need you all to do:
Please, please SKIP all Chapters from 292 to 313.
The story picks back up correctly at Chapter 314. Please jump straight to Chapter 314.

Adam sat in the dimly lit control room, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the desk as he watched Zero sift through streams of encrypted data. The hum of the computer servers filled the silence, an ever-present reminder of the battle they were waging behind the scenes.
Lilith stood off to the side, arms crossed, eyes locked onto the screens with quiet intensity. She had been cooperative so far, but Adam knew better than to trust her completely. The others, especially Phantom and Krish, still hadn’t accepted her presence.
"This is taking too long," Phantom muttered, standing next to Adam. "If the Nexus Protocol adapts as fast as Lilith claims, we’re already running out of time."
"I know," Adam said, not taking his eyes off the data. "But rushing won’t get us anywhere. We need something solid."
Zero suddenly straightened, his fingers pausing over the keyboard. "I think I’ve got something."
Everyone’s attention snapped toward him.
Zero pulled up a holographic projection of a massive underground facility. The structure was heavily fortified, layered with multiple security checkpoints, energy barriers, and automated defenses.
"This," Zero said, pointing to the projection, "is one of the Nexus Protocol’s primary data hubs. It’s where a majority of its predictive algorithms are processed."
Adam narrowed his eyes. "And you’re saying if we take this place out—"
"We cripple its ability to predict our movements," Zero finished. "At least temporarily."
Lilith smirked. "That means you’d actually have the element of surprise for once."
Krish scoffed. "And what’s stopping the Protocol from rebuilding it elsewhere?"
"Nothing," Zero admitted. "But it buys us time."
Adam leaned forward, analyzing the map. "Where is this facility?"
Zero hesitated for a brief moment before answering. "Beneath Sector 13."
The room fell silent.
Phantom was the first to speak. "Sector 13... That’s enemy territory."
Adam exhaled slowly. He had expected as much, but hearing it confirmed only solidified the reality of what they had to do.
"We need a plan," he said finally. "A damn good one."
Adam staring at the holographic map, knowing that the next mission could be their most dangerous one yet.
The air in the control room was thick with tension. Adam, Phantom, Krish, Zero, Lilith, and the others stood around the glowing holographic map of Sector 13. The underground facility Zero had discovered was heavily fortified, practically impenetrable. But Adam knew they didn’t have a choice.
"We can’t just walk in there," Krish said, shaking his head. "This place is a fortress."
"We’re not walking in," Adam responded. "We’re infiltrating."
Lilith leaned against the table, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "And how do you plan to do that? That facility has layers of security, energy barriers, and a predictive AI that—"
"Won’t be predicting anything if we hit it from multiple angles," Zero interrupted, typing rapidly on his console. "We can divide into two teams. One team creates a large-scale diversion at the facility’s perimeter while the other sneaks in through the ventilation system."
Phantom crossed her arms. "You want us to fight our way into a Nexus stronghold?"
"No," Adam said, his voice firm. "I want them to think we are."
A silence fell over the group as Adam continued. "The Nexus relies on prediction. We’ve always been on the defensive because it knows what we’ll do before we do it. But if we feed it the wrong information... we control the battlefield."
Lilith smirked. "You’re talking about false data trails."
Adam nodded. "Exactly. We leak movement patterns, fake communications, let them think we’re launching a full-scale assault. While they’re focused on that, a small infiltration team gets inside undetected."
Krish whistled. "That’s... actually kind of brilliant."
Zero projected a simulated version of the plan. The main attack force—consisting of decoy drones, remote explosives, and a small team—would assault the main gates while the infiltration team, composed of Adam, Phantom, and Lilith, would enter through a hidden maintenance shaft.
"It’s a risky move," Phantom said, studying the simulation. "If they catch on, we’re dead."
"They won’t," Adam said, his voice unwavering. "Because we won’t give them the chance."
Lilith tilted her head, her smirk growing. "Alright, fearless leader. When do we begin?"
Adam looked at the map one last time, the weight of the mission settling on his shoulders.
"In 48 hours."
The team finalizing their roles, knowing that the next move could change the war forever.
With the plan in place, the team wasted no time. The underground base buzzed with activity as each member prepared for their role in the operation.
Adam stood in the command center, overseeing the final simulations while Zero and Krish worked on hacking into Nexus’s surveillance system.
"The fake attack needs to be convincing," Zero muttered, his fingers flying across the holographic keyboard. "If they suspect anything, they’ll reinforce the interior security."
Krish nodded. "I’ve modified the drone signals to mimic human movement patterns. It’ll look like a full assault from multiple directions."
Adam turned to Phantom, who was equipping her gear. "We’ll be relying on stealth once we’re inside. No unnecessary engagements."
Phantom adjusted her gloves, her violet eyes cold and calculating. "Understood. But if we do have to fight?"
Adam’s expression hardened. "Then we make it quick."
Lilith, standing nearby, smirked. "I love how you say that like it’s easy."
Adam ignored her sarcasm. "Lilith, you’re our infiltration expert. How much time do we have once we’re inside?"
She tapped her wrist device, analyzing a digital blueprint. "Twenty minutes. That’s the maximum window before the security AI adapts to our presence."
Adam clenched his fists. "Then we do this efficiently."
While the main team prepared, Sona and Tayyo hovered nearby, their wings barely making a sound. They exchanged worried glances before approaching Adam.
"Lord Adam," Sona began hesitantly. "Are you sure about this? It’s dangerous."
Adam exhaled, looking at them with a reassuring smile. "I know. But this is necessary. If we don’t act now, the Nexus will tighten its grip. We may never get another opportunity."
Tayyo folded her arms, her expression stubborn. "Then at least let us come with you."
Adam shook his head. "I need you both here, watching over the base. If something goes wrong, you’re the last line of defense."
Sona lowered her gaze, but she nodded. "Understood."
As the final preparations wrapped up, the atmosphere in the base grew tense. The plan had to be flawless—any mistake could be fatal.
Adam stood in front of his team, his voice steady. "We move out at dawn. Get some rest."
As the team dispersed, Adam looked at the holographic map one last time. The path was clear, the mission set.
Now, it was time to see if they could pull off the impossible.
As dawn approached, the team gathered in the command room, standing before the massive holographic display showcasing the Nexus facility’s blueprints. Adam took a deep breath before addressing everyone.
"This is our only chance," he began, his voice calm but firm. "The Nexus won’t be expecting a direct infiltration so soon. The decoy attack will give us an opening, but it won’t last long. Once we’re inside, we have exactly twenty minutes to get the data and extract."
Phantom crossed her arms. "And if things go south?"
Adam met her gaze. "We improvise."
Lilith chuckled. "Great. Nothing like an unpredictable mission to keep things exciting."
Krish, who had been silent until now, adjusted his visor. "The drones are in place, and we’ve successfully mimicked an external raid. Security will be pulled toward the perimeter, but only for a limited time."
Zero turned to Adam. "Once we breach their firewalls, I’ll need five minutes to extract the files. After that, we’re ghosts."
Adam nodded. "No unnecessary risks. If things look bad, we retreat. Understood?"
Everyone in the room responded with a determined "Understood."
As the team dispersed for their final preparations, Adam found himself alone in the dimly lit command room. His eyes scanned the blueprint one last time, his mind racing with possibilities.
Ani entered quietly, sensing his unease. "You’re overthinking again," she said, offering a small smile.
Adam chuckled. "It’s my job."
She stepped closer, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I know you. You’ve planned for every possible outcome. We’ll get through this."
For a moment, Adam allowed himself to relax. "Thanks, Ani."
She nodded before turning to leave. "Just don’t do anything reckless."
"No promises," Adam smirked.
With their gear in place, the team gathered at the underground exit. The air was thick with tension, but no one hesitated.
Adam pulled his hood over his head. "Move out."
The steel doors slid open, revealing the dark expanse of the city beyond. The mission had begun.
The night air was crisp as Adam and his team moved swiftly through the industrial district, keeping to the shadows.
The streets were eerily quiet, save for the occasional flickering of faulty streetlights.
The Nexus Facility loomed in the distance—a massive, fortified structure with high walls and sentry drones patrolling the perimeter.
Adam signaled for the team to halt. He tapped his earpiece. "Zero, status?"
Zero’s voice crackled through. "Security shift change in two minutes. You’ll have a thirty-second window before the next patrol cycle starts."
Adam nodded. "We move on my mark."
The team tensed, waiting. The red lights of the sentry drones flickered as they turned toward the eastern quadrant.
"Go."
Like shadows, the team sprinted across the open space, pressing themselves against the steel walls of the facility. Phantom activated her cloaking ability, slipping through the electronic barriers undetected.
Lilith pulled out a small device, pressing it against the control panel. The screen glitched before turning green. "We’re in," she whispered.
The metal door slid open with a low hiss. One by one, the team slipped inside.
The interior of the facility was sterile—white walls, dim overhead lighting, and security cameras lining the hallways. Adam motioned for Krish to disable the surveillance.
"Ten seconds." Krish muttered as he hacked into the system.
The red blinking lights on the cameras turned blue. "We’re clear."
The team advanced, staying low. Every footstep echoed slightly, heightening the tension. Phantom scouted ahead, using her spectral abilities to pass through walls, ensuring the path was safe.
Zero pulled up the schematics on his wrist display. "The data core is located on sublevel 3. We need access to the elevator shaft."
Adam glanced at the reinforced doors ahead. "Then let’s move."
The team reached the maintenance corridor leading to the elevator. But just as Krish began overriding the security, a low alarm hummed through the air.
Zero cursed. "We tripped something."
Adam drew his weapon. "Form up. We’re not alone."
A heavy metal door slammed shut behind them, locking them in. The air was thick with anticipation.
From the shadows, figures emerged—silent, armored, and deadly.
Adam tightened his grip. "Looks like we just got company."
