Chapter 297: PLEASE SKIP THIS Chapter

_______________________________

Hey everyone,

I have to post this message with a very heavy heart because I’ve made a huge mistake, and I am incredibly sorry for it.

I somehow managed to upload a completely wrong set of Chapters. Everything from Chapter 292 all the way to Chapter 313 is incorrect and has nothing to do with our main storyline. I can only imagine how confusing this must have been for all of you, and I am truly ashamed of this error.

So, this is what I need you all to do:

Please, please SKIP all Chapters from 292 to 313.

The story picks back up correctly at Chapter 314. Please jump straight to Chapter 314.

The tension in the Union’s base is palpable. The recent intrusion has confirmed Adam’s suspicions—his enemies are growing more aggressive. As he walks through the dimly lit corridors, his mind is already planning the next steps. Phantom follows closely behind, her expression unreadable but alert.

"We need to analyze the data from the intruders," Adam says, his voice steady. "If they had a tracking device or left behind any energy signatures, we can trace it back to their source."

Phantom nods. "Understood. I’ll coordinate with Zero and Pratham to run a full scan."

As they reach the control room, Adam sees that Zero, Ninja, and the rest of the command unit are already gathered, waiting for his orders. The holographic display in the center of the room flickers to life, showing various security footage from the attack.

Zero looks up as Adam enters. "Lord Adam," he greets. "We’ve been reviewing the footage and scanning the energy signatures they left behind. I believe we may have found something."

Adam steps forward, his eyes narrowing. "Show me."

Zero manipulates the holographic controls, zooming in on a particular frame. A faint, almost invisible pattern of energy lingers in the air where the intruders had been standing.

"This," Zero explains, "isn’t just residual energy. It’s a coded transmission."

Adam crosses his arms. "A message?"

Pratham’s voice comes through the hologram. "Exactly. It’s a signal, designed to be picked up by someone outside the base. Whoever sent them was expecting a report."

Phantom frowns. "So they weren’t just scouting us. They were sending a signal back to their handler."

Adam clenches his jaw. "Can we trace it?"

Zero hesitates before responding. "It’s complicated. The signal is bouncing between multiple relay points, but with enough time, I believe we can pinpoint its origin."

Adam nods. "Then start immediately. We need to know who we’re dealing with."

As the discussion continues, an alert suddenly flashes across the holographic screen. A proximity alarm.

"Another intrusion?" Phantom asks, her energy blades flickering to life.

Zero quickly scans the readings. "No," he says, his tone shifting. "This is different. It’s a direct approach... and they’re not trying to hide."

Adam’s eyes narrow. "Who is it?"

The hologram updates, displaying a live feed from one of the external security drones. A figure is approaching the base—alone.

A woman.

She walks with confidence, her long dark hair flowing behind her. She wears a high-tech combat suit, its sleek design marked with insignias Adam doesn’t recognize.

Phantom tenses. "She’s not trying to be stealthy. That means either she’s incredibly foolish... or she’s incredibly dangerous."

Adam watches the figure pause at the perimeter, lifting a hand as if waiting for permission to enter.

"She’s not attacking," Adam notes. "She wants to talk."

Zero’s voice is cautious. "Shall I activate the perimeter defenses?"

Adam shakes his head. "No. Let’s hear what she has to say."

Phantom gives him a sharp look. "Are you sure about this?"

Adam smirks slightly. "If she wanted a fight, she wouldn’t be standing there waiting."

He turns to Ninja. "Prepare an escort team. Bring her inside."

As Ninja departs, Adam’s gaze remains fixed on the mysterious woman standing at the edge of his domain.

"Let’s see what she wants."

tension thick in the air. The unknown woman stands at the base’s entrance, her intentions a mystery. Adam, always calculating, prepares for yet another game of strategy.

Who is she? And what does she want with the Union?

The air inside the Union’s base is heavy with anticipation. Adam stands in the command room, his eyes fixed on the holographic display showing the mysterious woman outside. Her posture is calm, almost too composed for someone standing before an unknown enemy’s stronghold.

Phantom, standing beside Adam, remains on high alert. "I don’t like this," she mutters. "She’s too confident. Either she’s baiting us into something, or she knows we won’t attack."

Adam smirks. "Then let’s find out which one it is."

The security feed shifts as Ninja and a team of operatives approach the woman. She remains still, watching them with a neutral expression. When they stop a few feet away, Ninja steps forward.

"You are trespassing on restricted territory," Ninja says firmly. "State your name and purpose."

The woman tilts her head slightly, her piercing blue eyes glinting in the dim light. "My name is Lilith," she replies smoothly. "And I’m here to negotiate."

Inside the command room, Zero frowns. "Lilith? That name isn’t in any of our records."

Adam taps his fingers on the control panel, analyzing her movements. "She doesn’t look concerned at all. Either she has something valuable to offer... or she thinks we won’t turn her away."

Pratham’s voice crackles through the communication link. "Shall we scan for hidden weapons or tracking devices?"

Adam nods. "Do it. I don’t trust uninvited guests."

Outside, Ninja and his team begin scanning Lilith for concealed weapons or surveillance gear. Surprisingly, she doesn’t resist. She simply waits, her gaze never leaving Ninja’s face.

After a moment, one of the operatives steps forward. "No weapons detected. No trackers, either."

Lilith smiles. "Satisfied?"

Ninja doesn’t lower his guard. "That remains to be seen. You said you’re here to negotiate. What exactly do you have to offer?"

Lilith’s eyes glint with something unreadable. "Not out here," she says. "Take me to Adam."

Ninja stiffens at the casual way she speaks Adam’s name. "You don’t get to make demands," he snaps.

Lilith chuckles. "It’s not a demand. It’s a simple request. If Adam truly is as intelligent as they say, he’ll want to hear what I have to say."

Inside, Phantom clenches her fists. "She’s testing us," she growls. "She knows something."

Adam remains composed, watching the exchange with quiet amusement. "Fine," he says at last. "Bring her in."

Phantom turns sharply. "Are you sure?"

Adam’s smirk widens. "I want to see how far she thinks she can push us."

Minutes later, Lilith is escorted through the main corridors of the base. The operatives keep a close formation around her, but she doesn’t seem the least bit intimidated. If anything, she seems... interested.

As they step into the command room, Adam leans casually against the table, watching her. Phantom and Zero stand nearby, their eyes locked onto the stranger.

Lilith stops a few feet from Adam, her gaze sweeping over him with mild curiosity. "So," she says with a smirk. "You’re the infamous Adam."

Adam raises an eyebrow. "And you’re the uninvited guest."

Lilith chuckles, seemingly unfazed. "I expected more hostility."

"That depends," Adam replies smoothly. "Are you a threat?"

Lilith’s smile doesn’t waver. "That depends," she echoes. "Are you willing to listen?"

Adam studies her for a moment, then gestures toward the chair opposite him. "Sit. Start talking."

Lilith walks forward, gracefully taking her seat. The room is silent, every eye on her as she folds her hands in her lap.

"I’m here," she says at last, "because we have a common enemy."

Adam’s expression remains unreadable, but a flicker of interest sparks in his eyes.

"Go on," he says.

The Chapter ends with Lilith’s cryptic words hanging in the air, leaving everyone in the room wondering—what exactly does she know?

A heavy silence fills the command room as Lilith’s words settle in. Adam leans forward slightly, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the table. His gaze remains locked onto Lilith, searching for any sign of deception.

"A common enemy?" Adam repeats, his tone measured. "That’s a broad claim. Be more specific."

Lilith smirks, her posture relaxed yet deliberate. "You already know who I’m referring to," she says smoothly. "Lily and her organization. Or rather, the ones controlling her."

At the mention of Lily’s name, Phantom and Zero exchange sharp glances. The tension in the room thickens.

"Go on," Adam says, his curiosity piqued but his guard still raised.

Lilith crosses her legs, her expression unreadable. "Lily is just a puppet," she states. "The real players are still in the shadows. And trust me, they’re more dangerous than you realize."

Phantom scoffs. "And how exactly do you know all this?"

Lilith’s smile widens, but she doesn’t answer immediately. Instead, she lets the question linger in the air, watching their reactions.

"Because," she finally says, her voice carrying an edge of amusement, "I used to work for them."

The room goes completely still. Even the background hum of the base’s machinery seems to fade into silence.

Adam narrows his eyes. "You used to work for them?" he repeats, his voice low and calculated.

Lilith nods. "I was part of their inner circle. I had access to classified information—things that most people don’t even know exist."

Zero steps forward, suspicion clear in his voice. "If that’s true, why are you here? Why betray them?"

Lilith chuckles softly. "Because I know how this ends," she says. "They’re using Lily as a pawn, but their real target is something much bigger. If they succeed, neither you nor I will be able to stop them."

Phantom crosses her arms. "And we’re just supposed to believe you?"

Lilith shrugs. "I don’t expect blind trust. But I do expect you to realize that I wouldn’t risk coming here if I didn’t have something valuable to offer."

Adam leans back, studying her. He doesn’t trust her—not yet. But something about her confidence intrigues him.

"Let’s say I believe you," he says slowly. "What exactly are they after?"

Lilith’s smile fades slightly. "They’re after something called The Nexus Protocol."

The name sends a ripple of unease through the room. Phantom’s expression darkens, while Zero quickly pulls up data on the holographic screen.

Adam raises an eyebrow. "And what exactly is The Nexus Protocol?"

Lilith exhales, as if choosing her next words carefully. "It’s not just a weapon," she says. "It’s a failsafe—one designed to rewrite the balance of power in this world."

Adam’s eyes narrow. "And Lily is connected to this how?"

Lilith locks eyes with him. "Because she’s the key to activating it."

A heavy silence follows her words. The implications are clear—Lily isn’t just a pawn. She’s the trigger for something much bigger.

Adam exhales, running a hand through his hair. "Alright," he finally says. "You have my attention."

Lilith smirks. "Good. Because if we don’t act fast, we’re all going to regret it."

The Chapter ends with Adam staring at Lilith, knowing that the choices he makes next could decide the fate of everything he’s built.
