Chapter 119: Sona and Tayo vs Vampires

Tayo’s wings twitched as she prepared for the next assault, golden energy coursing through her battered form.

She turned at the sudden shift in the air, her gaze locking onto a radiant golden light descending beside her. Her heart skipped a beat as the figure within the glow came into view—a tiny, ethereal being with flowing blue hair, four golden wings shimmering softly, and a green dress that seemed to breathe with life.

Tayo recognized her immediately. Sona. Adam’s first psychic spirit.

Her lips curled into a smile, her exhaustion momentarily forgotten. "So he sent you," Tayo murmured, her voice tinged with relief. "I was hoping Lord Adam would come through."

Sona floated closer, her wings fluttering as she studied Tayo’s battered form. "You’re injured," Sona said softly, concern evident in her voice. She hovered at Tayo’s side, her small frame exuding an aura of calm confidence. "Lord Adam entrusted me with your safety. Let’s finish this."

Their exchange drew the attention of the vampires, including the Diamond Generals, who stared at Sona in stunned silence. The leader, Ethan—a tall figure with black hair, red eyes behind wire-rimmed glasses, and an air of cold precision—adjusted his glasses and frowned.

"You’re not the only Union member, it seems," Ethan muttered, his voice carrying a mix of annoyance and intrigue.

Tayo turned toward him, her golden eyes burning with determination. "I don’t think today will be the day I lose," she declared. Her wings flared out, each feather shimmering like molten gold as she pushed herself into the air.

Sona’s tiny figure rose alongside her. She glanced at Tayo with a sly smile. "Can you still fight?"

Tayo let out a weak chuckle, her wings steadying her battered body in mid-air. "I just needed a helping hand," she replied, her voice steadier than before. "And here you are."

Sona’s smile deepened. "Then let’s not waste any more time," she said. "We have to finish them off quickly and get back to Lord Adam."

Tayo nodded, her expression resolute. "Agreed. Let’s end this."

A Fierce Battle Unfolds

Ethan’s crimson eyes narrowed, and he took a step forward, his presence commanding the attention of everyone. His voice dripped with arrogance as he addressed the two women. "In such a hurry, are we? Why don’t you deal with us first?"

Before Tayo or Sona could respond, Ethan leaped into the air with blinding speed, his claws extended, aiming straight for them.

Sona reacted instantly. Raising her tiny hand, she summoned a shimmering scale-like barrier that froze Ethan mid-air. His body hung suspended, unable to move as if trapped in an invisible web.

"Not so fast," Sona said calmly, her tone almost mocking.

Tayo seized the opportunity. Her hand shot forward, conjuring a glowing golden square of energy that pulsed with power. The square shot toward Ethan with deadly precision. However, before it could reach its target, another figure darted into its path—a second Diamond General named Brian.

Brian’s massive frame absorbed the attack, the golden energy piercing through his chest. His skin began to sizzle and burn, golden flames licking at the wound. With a guttural roar, he fell to the ground, clutching his chest as the fire consumed him.

Ethan, still trapped in Sona’s barrier, snarled in frustration as he watched his comrade fall. "Sophia! Get Brian out of here!" he yelled, his voice laced with fury.

Sophia’s Dilemma

Sophia, the third Diamond General, hesitated. Her dark hair framed her pale face as her red eyes darted between Ethan and Brian. For a moment, she was torn. Should she help Ethan escape or save Brian from the flames that were rapidly consuming him?

"Stop standing there and attack them!" Ethan barked, his voice sharp with anger.

Sophia clenched her fists, her hesitation giving way to urgency. She turned to the other high-level vampires surrounding them. "What are you all waiting for? Attack them!" she commanded, her voice ringing with authority.

The vampires surged forward in a coordinated attack. Tayo, without glancing at Sona, muttered under her breath, "They’re expendable." Her voice was cold, almost detached. "Killing them won’t matter."

Sona smirked. "Then let’s make it quick." Raising her other hand, she summoned a blinding white glow. The light spread across the battlefield, halting the vampires in their tracks. Each one froze mid-motion, their bodies paralyzed by the overwhelming energy emanating from Sona.

Sophia’s eyes widened in shock, disbelief etched across her face. Even Ethan, still suspended in the air, couldn’t hide his surprise.

"How...?" Sophia whispered, her voice trembling. She stumbled toward Brian, who lay writhing on the ground, his skin charred and his regenerative abilities failing to keep up with the golden flames.

The Final Blow

As Sophia reached Brian, Tayo’s gaze hardened. She extended her hand, golden light coalescing into a spear of pure energy. The air around her vibrated as she aimed the spear at Ethan, her focus unyielding.

Sophia, still torn, bit her lip hard enough to draw blood. She hoisted Brian onto her shoulder, her resolve hardening as she turned to flee.

"Run!" Ethan bellowed, his voice cracking under the weight of desperation. "Get out of here—now!"

Sophia obeyed, her figure retreating into the shadows as Tayo released the spear. The golden projectile tore through the air with a deafening roar, its brilliance illuminating the battlefield. It pierced Ethan’s chest, the golden flames erupting on contact. His body convulsed violently as the flames consumed him, cutting off his regeneration entirely.

Sophia barely made it a few steps before Tayo turned her attention to her. Another golden square formed in Tayo’s hand, radiating deadly intent. She released it with precision, the attack tearing through Sophia’s side and exiting through her chest. The impact sent Sophia crashing to the ground, Brian still slung over her shoulder.

As the golden flames licked at Sophia’s body, she let out a weak cry, her strength fading rapidly. Brian, still clinging to life, convulsed in pain beside her.

Chapter End

Tayo and Sona hovered above the carnage, their figures bathed in golden and white light. The battlefield lay silent, the once-formidable Diamond Generals reduced to smoldering ruins. Tayo lowered herself to the ground, her wings folding as she glanced at Sona.

"Thank you," she said softly.

Sona smiled, her radiant presence undiminished. "Lord Adam is waiting. Let’s go."

With that, the two ascended into the air, leaving the battlefield behind.
