Chapter 118: Sona’s Return
Adam sat motionless, his chest rising and falling with labored breaths. His body was heavy, unresponsive.
Adam sat alone, his body slumped and drenched in sweat. His breaths were ragged, shallow, and each one felt like a battle against his uncooperative body.
His arm, wrapped in a blood-soaked cloth, hung uselessly at his side, still numb from his earlier fight with Hang.
The injury, combined with the sheer exhaustion from teleportation attempts, left him on the verge of collapse.
Pain radiated through him like waves crashing against the shore. He had heard Tayo’s desperate call in his mind—her voice filled with fear, urgency, and pain.
"Lord Adam, there are too many vampires here. The Diamond General vampires have found a way to counter my Matter State skill. They’re attacking me relentlessly. I’m holding on, but I can’t last much longer. I need your help... immediately!"
Her words echoed in his head, fueling a storm of worry and helplessness. Adam clenched his jaw, his teeth grinding audibly as he attempted to move.
"Damn it... What’s happening to me?" he muttered under his breath, forcing himself to sit upright. His muscles felt like lead, his injured arm hung limply at his side, wrapped hastily with a blood-soaked cloth—a souvenir from his brutal encounter with Hang. His hand had grown numb, cold as stone, while his other arm trembled with weakness. He groaned, his face twisting in pain as he pushed himself upright with sheer determination.
"I have to reach her. If I don’t..." His thoughts trailed off into a dark void of possibilities.
Adam took a deep, shaky breath. His voice was barely above a whisper as he uttered, "There’s no other way. I have to call her."
Closing his eyes, he focused his scattered energy. He reached deep within his mind, a place where he knew she could hear him. His voice, though faint, carried resolve.
"Sona, I need you. Come to me... now."

The Arrival of Sona
Seconds later, a soft golden glow illuminated the dim room. The air shimmered, and a tiny figure emerged, her presence radiant and commanding despite her size.
Sona, Adam’s first psychic spirit, appeared before him. Her once shoulder-length blue hair now cascaded down her back, shimmering like ocean waves under sunlight.
Her sapphire-blue eyes locked onto Adam’s battered form, widening with shock. Her golden wings—four in total—fluttered anxiously as she hovered above the ground.
She wore a green, leaf-like dress that accentuated her ethereal, nature-bound aura.
"Lord Adam!" Sona exclaimed, her voice trembling with concern.
Without hesitation, she flew to him, landing gracefully beside his face, which was still pressed against the cold floor.
Her tiny hands cupped his cheek, her touch warm and soothing against his cold skin.
"What happened to you?" she asked, her voice breaking with worry. Her eyes darted to the bloodied bandage on his arm and his trembling frame. "You’re hurt. You’re... you’re not okay."
Adam opened his eyes, his vision blurry, but he smiled faintly. "You’ve... changed, Sona. It looks like you’ve aged," he said, his voice barely audible.
A soft smile crossed Sona’s lips, though her worry didn’t fade. "It’s been five years since we last met, Lord Adam," she replied, her tone tinged with nostalgia.
Adam’s eyes widened briefly in surprise, but he quickly pushed the thought aside. "I don’t have time to understand that right now," he said, urgency returning to his voice. "I need your help."
Sona nodded, placing her hand on his cheek once more. "I’ll take care of it. But first, we need to get you out of here."
With a wave of her delicate hand, golden light enveloped Adam, and in the blink of an eye, they teleported to his room. The sunlight streaming through the window cast a warm glow on the walls, contrasting sharply with the cold sweat on Adam’s pale face.

Adam’s Plea
Adam lay on the floor, his breath shallow. Sona knelt beside him, her wings folded neatly against her back as she studied him with a pained expression.
"Sona," Adam began, his voice steadier now. "There’s no time to waste. Read my memories. You’ll find Tayo—she’s fighting alone against the vampires, and she’s in danger. You need to help her. She can’t win this battle by herself."
Sona’s sapphire eyes sparkled with surprise. "Tayo?" she repeated softly. For a moment, she hesitated, but seeing the resolve in Adam’s gaze, she nodded. "As you wish."
Closing her eyes, she placed her hands gently on Adam’s temple. A warm energy flowed from her fingertips as she delved into his mind. Flashes of Tayo’s plight played vividly before her—the relentless vampires, the Diamond Generals, and Tayo’s golden blood staining the battlefield.
Sona pulled back, determination hardening her expression. "I’ll find her," she said firmly. "But you must stay here and rest, Lord Adam."
Adam managed a faint smile. "Be careful," he whispered.
With a nod, Sona’s wings unfurled, and she vanished in a burst of golden light.

The Battle at Tayo’s Side
The scene shifted to a ruined building. Tayo stood in the center of the chaos, her once-pristine golden feathers now tattered and smeared with her own shimmering blood.
She panted heavily, her golden energy barely holding up against the tide of enemies. Vampires surrounded her, their crimson eyes glowing with malice.
One lunged forward, but Tayo extended her hand, unleashing a radiant beam of golden energy. The light pierced through her attacker, reducing it to ashes. She spun, releasing another wave of energy that incinerated the vampires within her radius.
But the effort took its toll. Her body wavered, her wings struggling to keep her upright.
Before she could recover, the surviving vampires detonated, creating a massive explosion that sent her hurtling through the air. She crashed outside the building, her body skidding across the dirt.
Tayo groaned, her vision blurring. Her wings spread out weakly as she struggled to rise. More vampires emerged, followed by the three Diamond Generals.
One of them smirked, his voice dripping with mockery. "Stronger than I expected, but not strong enough."
The vampires advanced, their claws gleaming under the moonlight. Tayo braced herself, golden light flickering faintly around her hands.
From behind, a calm yet powerful voice called out.
"Do you need help?"
Tayo’s eyes widened as she turned, the question echoing in her ears.
And there, the Chapter ends.
