Chapter 110: The Vicious Cycle of Revenge
---
The air outside the tense scene was charged with suppressed energy.
The crowd, initially murmuring in hushed whispers, had grown restless and angry.
A man from the crowd stepped forward, his voice echoing with fury,
"What are you doing? Don’t you have even an ounce of humanity left?"
Zora, standing tall with an eerie, smug demeanor, turned his cold blue eyes toward the man.
Zora is extremely surprised that a common man is speaking against his even after seeing his power.
His white hair shimmered faintly under the dim light, adding to his otherworldly appearance.
For a moment, the man froze as Zora’s predatory smile stretched wider.
"Ah," Zora said softly, his voice carrying the weight of menace, "I see I wasn’t clear enough."
His hand extended forward, palm open toward the man.
Zora channels his power, his hand clenches for a few seconds, sending a ripple effect from his hand.
An invisible force rippled through the air, and before the man could react, he was hurled backward as if struck by an unseen wave.
That man’s body moves backwards very fast, in a few seconds he is at a distance of 50 meters.
His body crashed against the ground far away, rolling to a halt.
The crowd gasped collectively. Fear rippled through them like a tide, and some instinctively stepped back.
Zora, still smiling, spoke with an unsettling calmness, "Does this make things clearer? If anyone else tries to interfere, they’ll face something worse."
The crowd fell into a terrified silence. No one dared move, their breaths held in trepidation.
A gravitational force seemed to press down on them, pinning their feet to the ground.
Zora’s gaze returned to Ani, his tone shifting from threatening to chillingly conversational.
"Ani," he said, stepping closer, "do you remember what you did to me?"
---
Ani’s knees trembled. Her tear-streaked face glistened under the pale light, and her sobs broke the suffocating silence.
"Please... let my sister go," she cried, her voice cracking under the weight of her fear.
Zora ignored her plea, his voice growing colder. "Do you know what my mistake was, Ani? I liked you. I cared too much for you. And what did you do?" His tone sharpened, a bitter edge lacing his words.
"You humiliated me. You turned me into a laughingstock, called me a stalker in front of everyone. Do you know what that did to my life?"
A few years ago Zora used to follow Ani, he felt that he liked Ani, that’s why he wanted to see every moment of Ani, he used to follow her everywhere and watched her secretly.
But because of this, Ani’s life was getting affected very negatively, she even stopped going out of the house because of Zora.
Ani shook her head frantically, tears falling freely now. "Please... please stop this..."
Her older sister, lying on the ground under Zora’s foot, mustered her strength and shouted, "You are a stalker! We should have reported you to the police back then!"
Zora’s smile faltered, his gaze snapping to Ani’s sister. "It seems you don’t understand your position."
With deliberate slowness, he pressed his foot down harder, forcing her head against the ground. The sound of her head striking the pavement was sickening.
A thin trickle of blood began to flow from the wound, staining the ground beneath her.
Ani screamed in horror, her body moving instinctively toward her sister. "Stop! Please, stop!"
But Zora only smirked. "Ani," he said, his voice eerily calm, "watch closely. I’ll make sure she suffers before your eyes. Only then will you understand what you’ve done to me."
Ani’s eyes darted to her phone lying nearby. Without thinking, she scrambled for it, her trembling hands grasping it tightly. Zora raised an eyebrow, bemused.
"Go ahead," he said mockingly. "You’ve got ten seconds. Call whoever you want. Let’s see who dares to save you from me."
Ani’s mind raced. Her heart pounded against her ribs, her breath coming in short gasps. The screen lit up, displaying a list of contacts. Her vision blurred from tears, but one name stood out: Adam.
She hesitated, unsure why her instincts screamed his name. Her fingers hovered over the screen, trembling, before she pressed the call button. The phone rang, the sound cutting through the heavy silence.
---
Miles away, Adam crouched behind a crumbling wall, his black outfit blending seamlessly with the shadows.
Tayo fought ferociously against a horde of vampires, their shrieks echoing through the ruined building.
The vampires were relentless, their numbers unusually high.
Adam’s sharp eyes scanned the scene, noting the coordinated movements of the mid-level and high-level vampires.
Something about this ambush felt off—it was too well-organized.
From his position, Adam sensed the presence of even stronger vampires lurking deeper within the building.
He had chosen to stay hidden, ready to teleport Tayo away if the situation became dire.
Suddenly, a sharp movement caught his eye. Three figures stepped into the fray—Diamond Generals vampire, elite vampires with immense power. Adam’s brows furrowed. "So, that’s why it felt off," he muttered to himself.
Before he could act, his phone buzzed in his pocket. Pulling it out, he saw Ani’s name flashing on the screen. A rare look of confusion crossed his face as he accepted the call.
"Ani?" he said, his voice steady despite the chaos around him.
The sound of Ani’s sobbing reached him immediately. "Adam... please... help me," she cried, her words barely coherent through her tears.
Adam’s expression hardened, his free hand gripping his sword tightly.
His mind raced as he processed the desperation in her voice.
The sounds of her cries pierced through him, and for a moment, everything else faded away.
"Where are you?," he said firmly, his voice low but filled with resolve.
The scene shifted back to Ani, still clutching her phone, tears streaming down her face. As Adam’s determined words reached her, a flicker of hope sparked amidst her despair.
---
The Chapter ends with Adam rising from his crouched position, his eyes blazing with purpose, as he prepares to intervene.
