Chapter 100: Zora’s Anger

Chapter 99: The Trap

The air inside the house felt stifling, carrying the faint metallic tang of dread.

The shadows seemed to flicker unnaturally, as though anticipating something ominous.

Across the room, two hostages—an elderly man and a young woman—sat trembling, bound and gagged, their wide eyes brimming with fear.

Above them, sunlight filtered faintly through the broken windows, casting an eerie glow over the dilapidated house.

And then, without warning, five vampires stepped into view, their movements deliberate and menacing, like predators circling their prey.

Zora’s icy blue eyes scanned the group, his white hair catching the pale light like a beacon of defiance. His sharp jaw tightened.

"We’ve walked into their trap," he muttered, his voice as cold and cutting as steel.

Atlas, his broader frame and sturdy demeanor a stark contrast to Zora’s wiry build, clenched his fists.

His dark eyes narrowed as he surveyed the scene. "They’ve been waiting for us," he replied grimly.

The vampires surrounded them, their confidence oozing from every movement.

One, larger and more imposing than the rest, stepped forward with a sneer. "You thought you could outsmart us?" he mocked, his voice dripping with venom.

Vampire thinks they has trapped Zora and Atlas, but they is underestimating Zora’s capabilities.

Zora’s lips curled into a smirk. "Clever. But intelligence without strength is a fragile thing."

The words had barely left his mouth when the vampire lunged at him, moving with inhuman speed.

Zora, calm and collected, raised his hand. A sudden pulse of invisible force erupted from his palm, slamming into the vampire mid-air.

The creature was flung backward with such force that he crashed through the far wall, hurtling into the open air before landing in the yard with a sickening thud.

The vampire had never thought something like this would happen, they had thought they would out number him.

The remaining vampires paused, momentarily stunned by the sheer power displayed. Zora turned to them, his icy gaze piercing. "Who’s next?"

By showing his power, Zora is showing the vampires that he is still superior to them. Seeing this, the vampires now look at Zora with great anger.

Atlas looks at Zora and taps her on the shoulder, Atlas chuckled softly. "Show-offs like you always get carried away."

But before he could say more, the vampire who had been thrown out reappeared.

His body showed no signs of injury, his cocky grin intact. He rolled his neck as though shaking off a minor inconvenience.

Seeing this, Zora and Atlas are very surprised and they look at him as a vampire.

"Impressive. But if that’s all you’ve got, you’re out of your depth."

Seeing his friend coming back, the other vampire Mockingley looks at both of them and says "He was talking big just a while ago"

Zora’s smirk faded slightly. This wasn’t going to be as easy as he’d thought.

Zora clenched his jaw and extended both hands. His fingers twitched as he summoned his power again.

This time, the entire house seemed to vibrate. The floorboards groaned under the strain of the invisible force pulling downward.

The hostages cried out, their muffled screams barely audible over the growing rumble.

But the five vampires standing there were not affected by this trembling and force, seeing which Zora became even more angry and started using more power.

Atlas watched the scene warily. "Zora, don’t overdo it," he warned.

But Zora didn’t respond. His focus was solely on the vampires who were now digging their claws into the ground, resisting the gravitational force with frightening ease.

One of them laughed, the sound cold and mocking. "Is that it? You think you can crush us?"

Hearing the vampire’s words, Zora becomes even more angry and his blue eyes turn completely red due to anger and he starts doing more gravitational pull on the house.

Anger flared in Zora’s eyes. He poured more energy into his attack, the pressure increasing.

The wooden beams above cracked and splintered, a table near the wall collapsed into shards, and the very walls of the house seemed ready to cave in.

Despite the immense force, the vampires remained standing. They smirked, their postures almost mocking. Zora’s frustration mounted, his power spiraling out of control.

Atlas grabbed his arm. "Zora, stop! The hostages can’t handle this!"

The warning came too late. The old man and young woman screamed in agony, their bodies writhing as blood trickled from their ears. They collapsed, unmoving.

Seeing this, Zora gets completely shocked and says in his mind, "No, I had forgotten about them."

"No!" Zora gasped, his concentration breaking.

Before Zora could react further, the entire house began to crumble.

Beams and walls gave way, the roof caving in with a deafening roar.

The vampires bolted, their movements too fast to track.

Atlas moved swiftly, throwing his arm around Zora and activating his power.

A shimmering force field enveloped them both, creating a protective sphere that shielded them from the falling debris.

Dust and rubble rained down, pounding against the barrier, but nothing penetrated it.

As the dust settled, the ruins of the house lay in a heap around them.

The vampires were gone, their laughter echoing faintly in the distance.

Zora deactivated his power, his shoulders slumping. His eyes darted to where the hostages had been.

Their lifeless bodies lay partially buried under the rubble.

"We have to save them!" Zora shouted, his voice cracking with desperation.

Atlas placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "They’re gone, Zora. There’s nothing we can do."

Zora shook his head, his fists trembling. "It’s my fault. I—"

"We don’t have time for this," Atlas cut him off. "If anyone finds us here, we’ll be blamed for their deaths. We have to leave now."

Zora opened his mouth to argue but found no words. Atlas’s grip tightened. "Let’s go."

With heavy hearts, the two turned away from the destruction and vanished into the shadows.
