Chapter 460: Chapter 458 The Mortal Who Must Die

Cha Na grabbed the dagger with his left hand, glared fiercely at Wei Tianyang, and then charged at the soldier.

The soldier, frightened by Wei Tianyang, turned his head to run.

Yet, Wei Tianyang silently and instantly teleported to the path of the fleeing soldier.

Realizing he couldn’t escape, the soldier’s face turned vicious as he swung around to face Cha Na.

With a serrated dagger thrusting towards his abdomen, Cha Na exerted all his strength.

However, the soldier was a full-grown man after all; he forcefully seized Cha Na’s left wrist, easily snapping it with a kacha, and then slapped him across the face.

Cha Na staggered a few steps, fell to the ground, his face swelling up, his head woozy.

Before he could recover his senses, the soldier picked up the dagger and came over to him, his knee pressing down hard on his neck.

Cha Na, gasping for air, beat the man’s thigh with his broken left wrist, his eyes seeing Wei Tianyang standing by, watching with folded arms.

The soldier, seeing Cha Na still resisting, punched him hard in the cheek several times.

The sound of his nasal bone breaking reached his ears, as a warm flow gushed from his nostrils; Cha Na felt his nose full of blood.

Then, he felt an agonizing pain in his stomach as the soldier repeatedly stabbed his chest and belly seven times with the dagger, turning his clothes red with blood. His cheeks aching, sweat beading on his forehead, Cha Na shivered all over, coughed, and vomited a mouthful of fresh blood.

The soldier pulled out the dagger, stepped over Cha Na’s body to run; suddenly, he stiffened like a statue, every muscle in his body immobile, as his body floated up slightly.

Wei Tianyang approached Cha Na, holding the soldier with his left hand, his right hand on his hip, looking indifferently at Cha Na lying in a pool of blood.

"You can’t even defeat a bare-handed minion," he said.

Cha Na’s entire body felt cold, lying limply in the mud, his nasal passages clogged with thick blood, his throat full as well, lungs unable to breathe, his face turning black from suffocation, eyes rolling white, pupils twitching in their sockets.

Wei Tianyang kicked Cha Na in the abdomen; in agony, Cha Na wanted to curl up but was unable to control his body.

"Obey me, and I will save you. Otherwise, die here," Wei Tianyang said.

Cha Na could hear his voice; he didn’t want to die. He wanted revenge, wanted to become strong. If he died here, it would all be for nothing, utterly meaningless.

Wei Tianyang looked at him, his eyes piercing through Cha Na’s feeble body.

His torso had been stabbed seven times, three of which penetrated the liver, making three holes—a fatal injury.

Another had pierced the stomach, two hit the pancreas, and one the small intestine. The organs were contaminated with feces, his life hanging by a thread.

If he were taken to the United Council’s hospital now, without the help of superpowered soldiers, the doctors there could only forcibly transplant synthetic organs, and he would have to live the rest of his life dependent on anti-rejection drugs.

"Prove to me, Yishenmali, that you deserve to be saved," Wei Tianyang said.

Cha Na, blinded by excessive blood loss, couldn’t feel his legs anymore, but he forced himself, trying to control his limbs. His frail body shook as he propped up his head and upper body, changing from a side-lying position to a plank.

As he shifted position, the wound in his abdomen tore open, a section of the small intestine spilled out, and blood surged out like a squashed persimmon. His complexion turned from black to pale, and within just two seconds, he lost his strength and lay in the blood.

Wei Tianyang extended his left hand, grabbing Cha Na’s body, and in the blink of an eye, the soldier in his right hand showed a pained expression, rolling his eyes in agony.

He dropped the two men onto the grass, crossed his arms, and quietly watched.

Cha Na suddenly sat up, his face awash with shock and fear. He quickly unbuttoned his blood-soaked red shirt to check the wound on his abdomen.

But after wiping away the blood from his gory belly, there was not a mark to be seen. It was as good as new. Turning his head, he saw that a nearby soldier was on the brink of death, breathing barely perceptible.

"You’ve been killed again," Wei Tianyang said.

Cha Na was speechless, head bowed, eyes brimming with tears, mournful over his own weakness and impotence.

"Your anger, without the support of strength, will only lead you to destruction," Wei Tianyang said.

He grabbed Cha Na and flew into the sky, shooting back to Heisai State like a meteor.

At 3 in the afternoon.

Helena Mina came to visit the hotel; it had been just over a month since her last visit.

Accompanied by Rada Gan, she took a private elevator to the 28th floor, where Wei Tianyang was reading in his room.

The moment she entered the hotel, Wei Tianyang knew she had arrived, and he also knew exactly why she had come.

Recently, he brought back a group of children and without seeking anyone’s consent, even that of the children themselves, he had unilaterally placed them in the hotel.

According to the laws of various countries and the standards of international humanitarian organizations, his actions clearly differed little from "kidnapping."

Helena Mina knocked on the door gently, and with a wave of his hand, Wei Tianyang opened it.

Rada Gan nodded to him and then stepped away.

The two sat down at the table. The coffee machine began to operate automatically, serving her a hot cup of coffee.

"I am not going to send the children back; for them, that would be the greatest misfortune," Wei Tianyang stated bluntly.

"I know, I’m not here to persuade you," Helena Mina said with a smile.

"Are you still their advisor?" Wei Tianyang asked.

"No, they know you don’t like Pence, so they called me back. I have once again become the chairwoman of the United Council," Helena Mina replied, shaking her head.

"But you don’t seem very happy about it," Wei Tianyang noted with a smile.

"I am already too old now. You look no different from when you were sixteen, and I, even with the best cosmetic medicine, cannot hide the signs of aging. I’m nearly seventy years old... I don’t know if I have the strength left to sustain a massive international organization," Helena Mina said with a wry smile.

Only then did Wei Tianyang take a careful look at her.

Indeed, her skin still appeared taut at first glance, but the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes and the folds under her jaw were undeniable. When he was sixteen, Helena Mina was in her forties, approaching fifty, and back then, with the support of cosmetic medical technology, she could maintain the physical state of someone in her early thirties.

Now, although her body might still be healthy, her appearance inevitably drifted towards decay and decline.

Humans are such pitiful creatures. Despite having immense powers and abilities, they have only a lifespan of just over a hundred years at most. Ordinary folks, worn down by the grind of work, might only live into their early seventies.

Everyone must watch themselves walk towards demise, not an instantaneous obliteration but a cruel, protracted process; one so long that it forces even the most spirited of youth to realize that people must, in the end, die.

Mortal beings, destined to die...

"I don’t like anyone else sitting in this position," Wei Tianyang said.

"Even you can’t defeat time, can you?" Helena Mina said with a smile.
